    What impresses me more than his fishing and knowledge of biology are Jeremy's people skills. I don't know how many languages he learned for his show, but dude was multilingual and jumped at the chance to meet and get to know people all around the world. Aspirational, honestly.

    I miss this show immensely and wish it would make a return but love that Jeremy came back with spin-off series’ like Mighty Rivers and Dark Waters, there needs to be more though, there is never enough River Monsters action to satisfy longtime fans of the series.

      Jeremy Wade's ability to combine adventure, science, and storytelling was unmatched. The spin-offs like Mighty Rivers and Dark Waters are great additions, but nothing quite captures the same magic as the original series. Let’s hope Jeremy graces us with more projects in the future-there’s definitely no such thing as too much River Monsters action for the dedicated fans!

    I wish they made a show called saltwater monsters where Jeremy would go after huge sharks, and other killer saltwater fish like marlin and tuna. I guess they kinda did this with season 8 but would have been cool for that to be an entirely new show after river monsters ended

    • @anthonyl2611
      @anthonyl2611 2 місяці тому +240

      That would be awesome but supposedly it was almost a miracle that they were even able to finish this show cuz of all the planning / logistics they had to do made it extremely difficult to pull off. If I remember right they almost stopped after season 1 but the show was too popular to just end it there and luckily for us they didn’t lol

      If you mean the bear at 5:15, that's just a blonde phase brown bear. Brown bears can be dark, almost black, brown, blonde and cinnamon.
      Spirit bears are a subspecies of black bears (Ursus americanus) Spirit bears (Ursus americanus kermodei) live in the pacific northwest. Not Alaska.
      Black bears can also be black, brown, cinnamon, blonde (spirit bears) and even a small population of Glacier blue/gray bears in the Yukon, BC, Alaska border area.

    You dont get a perspective on how big crocs are till you see them in person. I saw one at my local zoo, it was a saltwater crocodile that was 14 foot long and man it was massive. Almost like a submarine with teeth, I couldn’t wrap my head around the fact that they can grow 6-7 feet larger.

    When they’re trying to net sawfish I just can’t get over how he’s releasing the fish so calmly with crocs all over. I’d wouldn’t be putting my hands in that water especially at night lol

    I can't believe he puts his hands in the water with saltwater crocodiles in it.. it could easily sneak up and grab his arm terrifying! 😨

      @fortunewilliam255 they specifically mention salt water crocodiles in this documentary but giving the benefit of the doubt the point still stands. Nile crocs could easily do the same

      @ immediately afterwards they were in Australia looking for the skipe fish or saw fish idk but then those weee salties. The one with the African fisherman was a baby Nile. He said the croc was salty… feisty if you will

    Having been in a few of the rivers in South and Central America, I was too busy staying alive to fish.
    Black caimans were what terrified me and my friend.
    Stay well, Jeremy, stay well.

    It was mentioned that they aren't too far from where Timothy and Amy were eaten by a bear. Why didn't anyone from this expedition ask the bears if they knew Tim and Amy?

    • @metalmamasue3680
      @metalmamasue3680 Місяць тому

      The bear(s) that took down and fed on Timothy and his gf were dispatched, if i remember correctly. You can't have man eaters walking around. One was a starving older bear who didn't have enough fat packed on to survive winter.
      They should've left 2 weeks beforehand when they had the opportunity.

      @@metalmamasue3680 If that's the case, those bears probably would not have answered the question. Dead bears, like men, don't talk or growl.
