      JB is an incredible wrestler and has been amazing for the sport- but can we be honest for a sec about the 2016 Olympics? JB was a 3 time world champ and at his prime, with a record of 130-2 in international competition and lost in the Olympic quarter finals to lower ranked Aniuar Geduev, then he got teched 11-1 by Bekzod Abdurakhmonov and ended up finishing 9th.

      @@Profoundaj I'm not down on Burroughs. He's been great for the past 10-12 years. But Baumgartner has 4 Olympic medals to Jordan's 1, and has 9 World Championship medals, to Jordan's 8. At this point, Bruce is clearly more decorated than Jordan. The only way that Jordan passes him is if he manages to win the 2022 and 2023 79kg World Championships, then beats Dake for the 2024 Paris 74kg Olympic berth, and then wins the Gold medal. I just don't see all of that happening. Last time he sucked down to 74kg, Jordan looked slow, dried out, and lethargic, and was soundly defeated by Dake. I can't see him doing any better against Dake three years later, and three years older.

      @@scourge8097 same here. Burroughs has been really good but i think he made it about himself after losing at trials to dake…bad sportsmanship that day and felt he showed bad sportsmanship at bts against askren. Askren would of destroyed him folkstyle IMO.

      @scourge8097 2 роки тому +3

      @@rremo2076 I have a HUGE issue with this. Bad Sportsmanship? How? I saw a few people say this. JB went and gave Dake a hug in the Tunnel and congratulated him. He didn't put on a big performance on the mat for everyone because he was DEVASTATED.
      And if you know ANYTHING about Askren...I struggle to believe you'd say anyone ELSE was ever the bad sport. JB is one of the most genuine, humble people I've met in this sport. Askren...not so much.
      As for who'd win in Folkstyle? Are you talking when they were both at their best or at BTS?
      Because if it's the later, Ben had ZERO chance to be Burroughs in any style. If you're saying when Ben was a Sr vs Burroughs as a Sr in College, then I could see the argument for Askren. Askren had a better overall career without a doubt...in College. But he's not beating him in any manner of Wrestling right now. JB dominated him with shots. That plays in Folkstyle as well. Ben's hip and age...he's not on the same level.
      JB is the epitome of how to Win with class, how to lose with class, how to be a competitor and he's been the ideal face of our sport. It's just clear to me that Dake has passed him up and I think the difference will be just as big the next cycle. But...I don't get the criticism of him as a person or his actions.

      @@scourge8097 Folkstyle and Freestyle are different and no way Burroughs beats him in folkstyle also at BTS. Regardless its an opinion and at the end of the day its a sport and everyone has a chance especially a stud folk stylist like askren.
      In regards to bad sportsmanship, if u hear other saying the same thing it must mean that for some he did show that. I saw him and i think he did but thats my criteria and seems others think so to.
