I have the soundtrack of this game. When I bought the first AVP I didn't expect the soundtrack will be on the second game. I like the plot on those three campaign leveles.
If you played the game, Rykov had a back spinal troubles throughout the game when he fought a predator decades ago, hes was taking some kind of painkillers to alleviate.
@crabfight , no, at the begining, RYKOV is the marine hes chasing, then he falls off a cliff and breaks his spine but survives, so he ripped out the thing that let him live
You get to play Dunya in the prequel, Aliens vs Predator Primal Hunt. She's some sort of fork-tounged russian mercenary. It's funny when she meets Frosty too. Frosty for a moment had the hots for her, but then she clunked him over the head when his back was turned.
We don't know how many Aliens died, a lot for sure. That "distortion" was enough to make him invisible if you're not looking for him. Do you think the Predator would have done so well without his cloak? The Predator wasn't doing much to the Alien except when cut of it's tail. He lost because he was arrogant like the two Predators in the previous movies. Keep in mind that without his net and his armor he would have lost much earlier. We don't know just how hard the Aliens can bite.
This is one of my favorite games of all time, life cycle was so much fun in multiplayer. It's a shame to see the state of games today, half arsed campaigns and expensive DLC. The new AVP was so promising, what happened to the gaming industry?
Ah, that one. I'm pretty sure it stabbed him in the shoulder, I don't remember the Predator having a big gaping hole surrounded be green blood when he was fighting the Queen. There's no reason for the acid blood to disappear just because this specimen is stronger. The acid blood is present in all Aliens in the originals so it's logical that it's a permanent part of the Alien. I just replayed AVP2 and I don't remember noticing a difference between Drone and PredAlien acid blood.
Ripley wasn't a pure Alien but the Predalien wasn't a half breed as the name suggests. The only "pure" Aliens are the facehuggers and all Aliens take characteristics from their hosts. It brilliant actually, it means that when an Alien arrives to a new territory it can instantly adapt to it. I guess we have to assume Wolf didn't get any on him even though some much was coming out of it's mouth.
Hicks is the only marine that survived. The Predator used superior weapons and was cloaked, it's pretty easy to kill someone while being invisible, standing behind him and using better weapons. Do you think Arnold would have survived if he faced an Alien in the final confrontation? Dark Horse being first doesn't matter because the events in their comics are not canon, this means they didn't happen.
I rather enjoyed extinction, it was new, and was the first AVP I ever played, then again those were more like those games you normally see on pcs' were you build an army, but still fun
wait a minute.... in the beginning you hear the sounds and can clearly tell that the predator has ripped out the skull+spine... but why does it only show the predator holding the spine? did he not take the skull?
Yes, I use a headset, too bad, the game seemed promising. One thing that bothers me is that everyone moves at a ridiculous speed though, I expected it for the Alien but the Predator and Marine were unexpected. The whip and the pistol were a nice adition to the Predator arsenal though I prefer the game version.
yeh I heard about that, yeh it's coming out for PS3 if you look it up on wikipedia it's called Alien: Colonial Marines (that may not be right spelling) the first image is the front cover of the PS3 version, I personally hope they make a second Predator Concrete Jungle but darker tone, I felt the first was a bit too bright, that or a better version of AVP: Reqiuem game.
No, I think the issue is with my sound card, it works fine until in the menu but it gets all fucked up when I start playing. I meant Alien 3 and Alien 4, the General says something like "Ripley tried to wipe out this species and for all intents an purposes she did." Obviously there were Aliens somewhere else in the universe, they're just not discovered by the humans...yet.
Thanks for posting the ending I didnt get to read it all when I beat this campaign. I have to say though that this was probably the easiest boss fight Ive ever had in a game. I simply ran up behind him and slashed him with my combi-stick and he was done for. lol
This game would have stayed longer, multiplayer wise, if it included bots/AI opponents. Not to challenge skill or anything but just to keep servers busy so people would stay longer. All maps/gametypes are unplayable alone in this game in multiplayer. :(
I don't think you understand the Alien reproduction. It takes characteristics from it's host to adapt, that's why the Alien in A3 was different as it came from a dog, coming from a Predator made it stronger and gave it a few other traits but that's it. There's no reason to believe it affects it's blood. The Queen stabbed him in the chest after he stabbed her in the head not the other way around.
Right, I forgot about the walk button. I may give it a another attempt some time and hopefully fix the problem. I'm playing Primal Hunt now and it's pretty bad, It's got no atmosphere and the story is not as good as AVP2's. The only thing I really like so far is the design of the ancient Predators, playing the PredAlien was also fun.
It looked like a lot of blood to me. Whatever, Wolf never got any on him anyway even when he stepped on one. It still doesn't matter though, comics and games are still not canon (though I wish some were, there are great ones like AvP2), I also remember AvP2 stating that drones and runners molt in to Praetorians.
Chet was wining the fight as far as I could see (no small feat considering how shitty the lighting was), it was total BS that Wolf can rip out it's "biter" and not get a drop of acid on him. The PredAlien was overpowering him for most of the fight until it tried to head bite him. He did a lot but the Alien shrugged off all of it, if he managed to stab it in the head with his wrist blades he could have won but he wasted them on the tail, all it takes for the Alien to win is one good shot.
It's not canon within the context of the movies, it's like the EU of Star Wars. There are multiple comic books and games but the ultimate canon are the movies. If you really want to be sure wheter they're canon or not just ask yourself "Did Batman really fight Aliens?". Also Alien 4 clearly states that there were no Aliens between Aliens and Alien 4. I tried AVP1 on my PC recently but there are too many hardware issues especially with the sound.
If you like this game you should get the new one Its not like concrete jungle and espedially not like the movies Its just avp but with different unlockable characters and a whole new story

Because this game sucks. What happened is that a small independent company from UK made the first AvP game and it was a masterpiece. Then the rich Monolith bought the rights and made this crappy sequel. It doesn't even have proper made ending movies, compared to the one from the first game.
