Ok so you do realize you aren't the only family on that cruise ship.... I eat elsewhere if it's more than a 30 minute wait.. MDR is slow service to begin with but that's prime time for everyone.

@@926dallas Yes I realise that but Mardi Gras has 1 staff member to every 3 people!
6500 passengers she holds with 2000 crew working on her. Other cruise ships don't have this problem, we've learnt not to do party boats again as prefer quieter ships. Having 2 autistic children and a 4 month pregnant woman we was classed as priority.
It was an experience for us we will not be doing again.

Sorry about that terrible service. Unfortunately you checked in at one of the worst possible times. Check in opens 20 minutes before the restaurant opens. If you check in at that time, you will be seated as soon as the MDR opens, but if you check in a half an hour later then they just seated the first wave and service can be really bad. If we miss that first window, we wait until 645 to check in or just eat somewhere else like you did.

@@allgoodontheroad Via the app we tried 30 minutes before and even 10 minutes before just to chance it and all we got was can't take reservations until restaurant opens. But you are right about being the first wave of people going in as they get the better service.

@@theshakinggiant687 That is strange, I was on the Mardi Gras two weeks ago and was able to check in every day 20 minutes to opening. There was some strange behavior in the hub app a few times though. My wife would get alerts that our table was ready and mine would not alert until we had been seated for 20 minutes.

@@allgoodontheroad yeh maybe the app was playing up then. But you'd think for it to be working all the time otherwise changes people's views on the whole experience.
