This was one of the best in-depth videos about the performance impact for each of the settings. Nicely done! I also appreciate your tasteful use of sound bites from Dark Souls. EDIT: Just went back and watched this again for reference. Seriously, this is such a straightforward and informative showcase! Thanks.
Your content is so good. The way you go over optimizations is easy to understand. I imagine you're going to be hitting UA-cam subscriber milestones in no time.
I dunno, the art & setting are gorgeous, but the combat is floaty and lacks impact. I would say it feels even worse than original LOTF, it's just that meh.
Thank you SO much for explaining why running/rolling seemed to cut my frames in HALF. I thought I was losing my mind and the subreddit was just gaslighting me into thinking my PC wasn't good enough...
This video was so amazingly detailed! Thank you for taking the time to explain everything and giving REAL optimization advice instead of just recommending we set everything to low.
Lol literally i was just thinking 5 min ago, this game needs an optimization guide from the king asap, and booooom, got the notification this video dropped, ty so much for your work
I run 1440P on a 7900XT and I get none of the issues with frametimes spiking all over the place or stutters. I uploaded a video with 10 min of gameplay at mostly Ultra settings no upscaling and the frametime graph is flat and smooth. I noticed the best upscaling method appears to be to DROP the render resolution scale. If you drop it to 75% from whatever your native res is, you can hardly tell. This is UE5's scaling and it seems to work really well.
This game got updated with some performance tweaks and a new setting called cinematic. Does anybody know about how much that'd differ from this guide? But anyway. Thanks a lot for your job as this channel is so objective and accurate, I wish more people really were into this kind of settings comparison because it's vital work to face nowadays horrid PC gaming and optimization standards..
Estuve teniendo muchísimos problemas de stutering incluso usando dlss y frame generation tenia drops horribles de +100fps caer hasta 40fps. Despues de usar esta configuración el stutering disminuyó muchísimo. Muchas gracias
I just turned everything on ultra. Turn off that garbage DLSS fake frames, turn off moron blur, film grain and chromatic trash. Run game at 1440p. Game doesn't drop below 45fps and most of the time runs around 80-90fps. Looks amazing with the ray tracing maxed out
So you’re saying set Negative LOD to clamp as well as anisotropic filtering to 16x? What does the clamp setting do if you could explain? And does it come with a performance cost?
Damn that was very helpful and informative! I had no idea of how to even configure stuff so I ended up just using the default medium because even low for some reason I got less fps? Or for the other size not have a drastical change or anything. Very weird but with your video my game will finally run better now, 1+ subscribe!
These games were legendary for being unoptimized great games. Lords fallen the 1st game/watchdogs 1 could only hit 30fps with a 980 and only could hit over that 4k maxed until the 10 series high end cards came Control couldn’t run well with 4K native high settings until the 30 series high-end cards came. Do you think it can be the same situation with this game? It will only run 4K native high fps when the 50 series comes. All those games I named all run great at 1440 high; it’s only until people switch to 4K where the performance drops. Yeah, I know 4K is a medium jump in visual quality in my eyes, but it’s not as if going to 4K is like jumping from 480p to 1080p to justify the big fps drops. I really don’t know what’s going on to make the performance drop so bad.
Like before watch coz I know you made really useful contents. Thanks a lot again, one day you'r channel will become in one par with Digital Foundry... More then, you can even surpass him, I'm sure.
Great video! Although showing 62-66 fps is laughable as in coop after 30 minutes of consistent play the frames drop to 30 and the graphics turn to clay. The game can crash using the umbral lamp. The lighting is great except when it fails with is seldom. I love the game but I’ve had below 20 fps around 2 hours in performance mode again while cooping with players I’ve played many many games coop with no issues. Single player is amazing, coop is 2/10 if based on game performance. It’s still so good I go back into it but honestly remnant 2 is far better performance. Hex didn’t test coop performance at all based on what several people have experienced. It’s the most tragic part of such a great game. Assassin’s Creed Unity was less glitchy…
I think there's a leak somewhere in this game. The longer you play, the bigger the frames drop. I almost have consistent 60fps with high preset (except for some late game areas), but after 30min/1hour of game time, the framerate tanks a LOT. And if you keep playing after this, it sinks even more. When I played for more than 3 to 4 hours, every time my character did an animation (roll, evade, attack, running) the framerate when from 60 to 20/25. It's atrocious to play. The game is great in general, I had a blast, but the performance is ridiculous.

Can you do a optimization guide for warzone 2 please, would really appreciate it
Hey bench. How do u make these guides? I'd like to make them for myself for when I can't find games that have optimization vids for them
the game deserves a new optimization video, they added a new graphic preset and the game got several optimization patches

Great video and also good tip on settings the 16x texture filtering in the driver.
Brilliant content. No messing about, easy to understand. Straight to the point.
I don't really understand why so many ppl hate on this game so much it's one of the best and coolest non fromsoft souls likes I have ever played
I agree. This game is per awesome, just performance holding it back.
I dunno, the art & setting are gorgeous, but the combat is floaty and lacks impact. I would say it feels even worse than original LOTF, it's just that meh.

Running into your channel was a godsend. I'm always looking for ways to find the perfect medium between visuals and performance. Liked and subscribed!
So apart from Shadows, Global Illumination and Foliage, the other settings don't have much of an impact on performance. Thank you for this!
Thanks for this, was struggling to find optimal setting without sacrificing other areas. This helped a lot!

Thanks man, I couldn't make it work properly until I saw this video. Works like a charm
All day I have checked your channel for this video! Thank you for making it and uploading!
Been waiting for this to drop.... thanks so much bro! 🙏 clarified a bunch of things that were confusing me
Thanks a lot. Was expecting your video on this game. Keep making those videos. They help a lot!
this is a such a high quality video my dude, thx so much for your work hey, epic stuff here
For those still having issues, theres a mod pack you can download to help with optimization, and you can still play online with it

Thank you for this video I thought the game was unplayable but it turns out it was just that my foliage quality was too high
Thank you it worked for me now I have 40-45 more fps with these settings ! :D

@6:15 you can also set negative lod bias to clamp, those 2 settings are a must in almost every game :D
So you’re saying set Negative LOD to clamp as well as anisotropic filtering to 16x? What does the clamp setting do if you could explain? And does it come with a performance cost?
Also curious to know what does negative lod bias to clamp achieve in almost every game ?
