Thanks! Where I ride in Ottawa is definitely flat haha. That's why I don't venture out of the downtown/my neighbourhood. It's awesome. Whereabouts are you?
Happy 2 have found this channel. I'm considering changing to a retro single speed road bike (currently using a rather heavy mtn bike). My only concern with single speed is elevation and climbs. I'm delivering in Oslo, which is a fairly hilly city (averaging around 500 meters climbed for 2-3 hr shifts). How does single speed fare on steep gradients?
Damn - that is a lot of elevation! SO cool that you're watching from Oslo - thanks for commenting. Single speed is definitely tough on climbs cause you literally have one speed haha. But I used to deliver on a MTB and when I made the switch to a road bike, I went soooo much faster. I'd say if all you do is climb hills, stick with something geared. But if there is a decent amount (50-75%) of your ride being on flats/lower grade, make the switch! It'll save you a bunch of time. And single speed gets you in great shape😃 Happy riding!
i literally just started dashing yesterday (first day 5 diliveries in 2 hours sadly low outtake 21.50 but i did expect low take home first few days so that dont bother me, i just purchased a hot/cold bag with drink carriers and i use an ebike system thats available here where i live so each ebike in the system has about 20 miles of battery range , i get access to the ebikes at first 60 minutes free then 5cents a minute after so 3.00 an hour for ebike use is perfect for me, ( pedal assist ebikes so still getting a work out in. )
Wow people in Ottawa are much more friendlier to cyclists than Sudbury. I use a bike as a mobile aid, any time I bring it in a store I have to argue Im disabled and allowed to by Ontario law. Crazy stuff
I wanna try but don't have money yet for special backpack, I have just usual one but big, not that big as for delivery. What do you think is it worth it to try?
@@singlespeedeats745 I tried and got my first order, but it was like after 5 hours online and still silence, don't know why. I have been at the hot spot but nothing
Hey man your vids are awesome! I also do ubereats but in toronto/ mostly in north york with some hills and use a single speed bike flipped to fixed gear because why not!.... How busy does it get in ottawa for ubereats?
Love the fixed gear! Ottawa can get super busy at the peak times. I imagine it is quite similar to places like Toronto. Thanks for watching and keep riding!!
Facts. If you live in an apartment, you can't just leave your apartment number - we need the buzz. Then people get salty if you just leave it downstairs. I always try and leave a detailed note of why I left it where I did.

Worth it to try! Sometimes the order is pretty small so can fit in a smaller bag. Good luck!

The total average gets skewed because of all the stopping and going but my average when moving is anywhere between 20-30km/hour.
