I agree a couple more players in this window and I’d been inclined to keep the rest of the squad together until the summer then move on Nawrocki Palma Yang and bring in upgrades in several positions. With the injury prone problems we have with Kuhn and Forrest and Maeda and CCV and potentially McGregor I think we keep experienced back ups as otherwise we’re playing academy players and players who don’t know the systems or their team mates. So a couple now and maybe 4 or 5 in summer with 3 or 4 moving out
Back to business on Sunday with a win at Motherwell and then on Wednesday versus Dundee

@BlairMayne-iv2bw thanks for your opinion and thoughts but I think the 4-2 wasn’t a fair reflection of the game and after a terrible start where it looked to me the Rodgers tactics were all wrong we battled back well to get to 2-2 and for much of the game it was equal despite the massive advantage Villa have in budgets for salaries and transfer fees and that the play in a very rich high prestige league. The stats had Villa on top but Schmeichel made some good saves and Johnston and Trusty defended well enough mostly and the weaknesses were Scales and Taylor and that Yang and Kuhn did nothing to help in midfield or defence like Maeda does and Kuhn produced very little up front or out wide. The reason it wasn’t 7 or 8 was good goalkeeping and good shot blocking and defending apart from first 5 minutes and the Murray error at end.On another day Idah could’ve had another couple and the Hatate shot skimmed the post . There is a limited pool of top talent willing to play in Scotland even if you spend a fortune on transfer fees or salaries and contracts and any real talented player is very likely to want to play in a big rich league like England Spain Germany Italy or France or take the megabucks of Saudi league. I agree a new centre forward is essential and long term replacement of McGregor and another good partner for CCV is needed but what last night said to me is we are weak at LB although Tierney should resolve that and we need depth at wide right and left as the loss of Maeda was massive and Kuhn having an off day and so if we good back ups to replace them or sub them that will make us stronger. I think had Celtic played CCV beside Trusty with Tierney at LB and Maeda on left then it would have been a lot tighter but I don’t think the performance was bad nor that Celtic players are as poor as you suggest. However you have every right to your opinion and you may well be correct and it is the great thing of being a fan that we all can have an opinion and share it in a friendly respectful way
