Robert Downey Jr has appeared as Tony Stark in nine movies in Marvel’s Cinematic Universe, wearing over thirty different pairs of glasses. In Spider-Man: Far From Home his glasses became an extension of Tony Stark and a character of their own. So how did a pair of sunglasses become the star of a billion-dollar movie?
It all starts in a warehouse in California in the ‘90s.

The key thing in buying a pair of eyeglasses is not what is expensive or imitating the one worn by celebrities or the brand name but, rather, the one befitting the shape of your face, something that makes you more handsome or beautiful.
I started the video and after first 5 minutes paused the video, searched for it and found the price of $700+, came back and resumed the video, watched full video, felt happy, wrote comment and closed both tabs 😂
Yeah, I fell down a very expensive rabbit hole on this one.
@@dwiskus same. I bought the Dita Mach Six though which is even more expensive 😭
@@zaker600 and now go and try to find yourself a Mach Six Limited Edition
Blake Kuwahara was probably one of the greatest designers that really changed things!!
Why did I just watch a 38 minutes video about sunglasses? Cool though.
100% the same thought here. was a nice documentation tho
Just finished watching it again. You've found your calling. More like this, please!
This is a great documentary on an often-overlooked aspect of how films - especially MCU films - come together, and how this one pair of glasses became the most recognisable on the planet.
But am I the only person who desperately wants the audio for the phenomenal cover of Ramin Djawadi's 'Vacation's Over' that played during the credits?
Me just buying cheap frame cuz I can't see stuff without my glasses.
Pretty interesting documentary. Not just about Tony Starks glasses, but just about eye ware business.
This is exactly the video I've been waiting for! Thank you so much!
That was phenomenal, thanks for putting this together Dave 👏
As someone with a major eyewear fetish, this is the stuff I live for. Thank you 3000!
Wtf
Omg that is so me.
This video I didn’t know I needed. Thank you!
This is a exceptional video! Thanks for making it!
Iron Man’s Ditas Flight 006 inspired me to buy a pair. I bought Mach 1s instead. Sooo cool 😎
30:57 Look at the left temple. That's the "Love You 3000" comes from Lol
This whole video is a thing of dopeness!! Now I know where to go for my next few pairs of sunglasses! 😎
This is a unique style of video and I appreciate it
Where is the picture of the timeline so we csn see all the frame names

Couldn’t find it too on google
Can you get these glasses in clear prescription?
9 months to make one.. holy
Wow! I enjoyed every minute of this. Thanks Dave!
Man I'm pretty amped to watch this!
I know Dave has got a million other things going on, and UA-cam isn't his main priority, but it's kinda crazy this channel only has 5000 subs. Kinda makes me feel like I'm in a secret club :-)
My once-a-year upload schedule isn’t helping matters, to be fair
Fantastic video!
Wow, awesome video! But why did Cody say at 7:55 that the glasses never appeared during Infinity War's premiere? Did he not recognize the glasses with different lenses? Or did he mean to say the Endgame premiere?
Also, Dave were you able to identify who had created and supplied the original light blue lenses for the Flight 006? I found a source that stated they came from a Chicago boutique, but didn't get confirmation of it.
Amazing work again!
No they did not come from that boutique in Chicago. Tanya sourced them from a lab I work directly with
He said AFTERinfinity war.
I need the ones from the film
This is awesome.
The short answer no how. Because you first need EDITH itself, and then glasses for integration. I have a variant of how to do EDITH, it will wait for the chrysalis assistant program to be released
What is the exact color code of these frames? As of now, there is no blue frame. The closest is a smoke grey crystal
There custom made they don’t sell it like that
Amazing
not a fan of the flight 6 but i love my mach ones
1:08 Tony starkish
edith was the name of hawkeye's father
Where do I get it ??
Good now add blue tooth to them 😆
owner of nebula ??
hello this is mikes dad :)
This doesn't look like it fits with the "Here's the bad version" series. lol
I still use that frequently as a mantra thinking through projects / next steps.
