@@chrls.1093 extended up going turbo. 4 years in rn. I drove a rotrex Miata few years back and idk if it was his setup or his car but I did not like how it felt.
Vtech is just the proprietary naming of variable valve timing, hence VVT. Honda is a little better at having more aggressive cam profiles and heads that flow, though.
Love it! Making all the right noises too!! I'm looking at a used trackdog rotrex supercharger for my 04 Miata. That stuff is expensive!! And I'm not even figuring the cost of other upgrades like ECU, fuel supply/delivery, and intake.
OMG. So hilarious. As you're driving I think "looks like the NW" Then more driving and I'm like. This looks soooooo much like Oregon, Clackamas county. WTH. Then as I scroll down to see if there is something in the description and i saw channel name. AWESOME. Beaverton representing over here! Car looks fun by the way.
How often do you drive this car? Im wondering how reliable a miata is still with a supercharger. I currently, deliver pizza friday, saturday, and sunday. 8 Hours straight, and I drive my miata to the track and drive back. So my stock miata does see a lot of beating. just wondering how well it will hold up with a supercharger.
Nice ride, Sir. I have an ‘02 model and just ordered the TDR supercharger kit for it. Nothing exotic, just going with the Plug and Play Fuel and Timing cards. But, looking forward to installing it.
Looked through your posts on the forum, love all the work you've done that car. The android tablet as a multiple gauge is really cool too., I have considered that myself. What was the difference in the power feel when you switched from the 74 to the 94 Rotrex?
How much horses has this got? My dad has an MR2 mk3 Roadster with a completely rebuilt 1.8L 2ZZ-GE fitted Rotrex with intercooler + water/meth injection. After the engine has been broken in It's going to be around 325-350hp at the crank. It used to be supercharged and was around 225hp but it wasn't enough. Rotrex is the way.
I imagined it would be more than that but it certainly does fly. The MR2 my dad had with the supercharger was so fun to drive. 225 in a 1 tonne car was lovely. So much low down torque as well. It's fun isn't it!
I found a mostly complete kit for $2300 no ecu, injectors, or fuel pump. It’s a 74 and I’ve got an 04. I can’t decide if I want to spend the money or not Bc there’s still $1200 for an ecu. I would offer the guy $1800 Bc he never used it he bought it used
I had my mind set on going turbo eventually but this instant torque looks so enjoyable .
Roots and twin screw have even better torque than this.
awesomecooly123 most definitely. I actually drove a rotrex Miata a little while ago and was surprised at the lack of low end torque.
I hate the twin screw and roots sound tho. So if I go with a forced induction system, I'll go for a Rotrex.

@@Shredzilla100 hows the turbo setup been? what kit did you go with
I really like the linear power of that Rotrex. It preserves the NA character of the car.
looks like such a fun setup
Curtis Spencer yeah, it's SO fun.
So a vvt 1.8 is basically mazdas version of vtech
Vtech is just the proprietary naming of variable valve timing, hence VVT. Honda is a little better at having more aggressive cam profiles and heads that flow, though.
Vtec is also variabel valve lift, something VVT doesn't have.

I was thinking the same thing lmao, from salem but for sure looks like oregon
Haha...this is funny! I was thinking the same. I lived in Newberg for 20 plus years.

Have you put it in? What else apart from the kit did you to for installation. Ecu fuel?
Finally, a boosted miata with good tires... 🙄

Hi,
It dyon'd at 234hp/184tq.
Thanks for watching.

oregonmon at the wheels?
LewStep considering the 1.8 puts down like 100 ish to the wheels, 220s is huge!
i love the noises your car makes what's the exhaust setup?
candycornpeeps Thanks!
OBX header, test pipe, RB non resonated mid-pipe, RB PowerPulse muffler.
Love this
Were you able to keep power steering and air conditioning? And how strong is this setup running even now?
Power steering, car never had AC.
This car obviously has grip… does the rotrex have enough torque to break traction from a roll?
How much hp are you putting out with that supercharger? And you have a 1.8 what horsepower did that start out with 130 something?
Sorry, long time ago. VVT motor made 137hp. Now, 245hp/195tq.
How reliable?
Was this a custom kit or did you buy the tdr rotrex Kit
This is an older kit from Kraftwerks but also DIY'd intercooler, injectors, Megasquirt, pulley, oil lines, etc..
What exhaust is that? Sounds great!
Any engine and rotrex specs please?
What shifter is that, seems higher than normal? Or is it just the shift knob?
jose martinez stock shifter with a tall delrin knob.
What coilovers are you running?
5 speed still correct? 4.10 diff? Looks very quick! Love to hear more about the setup.
5 speed yes, but still a 4.3 from the original 1.6. So yeah, close ratios keeping it up in the power band.
Here's my build thread.
More than you'll every want to know. :)
clubroadster.net/vb_forum/showthread.php?t=140242
You need a 6-speed. If you like the close ratios now, just wait... I will check out your build thread.

Any top end work or other internals??
Is this a 5 speed ?
At the time yes.
How did you set up the vvt???
vasquez1194 using a Megasquirt 3 ecu.
oregonmon I’m sorry, pretty new to the car world. Was it pretty much plug and play or did you have to splice wires??
Not enuff supercharger whine for my taste. Exhaust sounds nice tho.
Because it doesn’t whine, it’s centrifugal
@@burgholte Ok...? Sure sounds like a whine to me for some Superchargers, speciallly the ones I like on Miatas. Just not this one, way too quiet.
