One of the best. Uli + Michael and don't forget Frank Marino. Ritchie was a perfectionist for tone. The other 3 masters in their own rights. I'm glad Ritchie left electric on this high note. The other 3 did grater things after the age Ritchie is here. Nevertheless I am glad they all graced out ears.
Legendary. Absolutely legendary. I mean it's so fuckin' legendary it's almost incomprehensible. That first 90 seconds will live on in infamy it's so legendary. They'll be talking about how legendary it is for centuries. Eons I bet. I mean it's legendary.
I'm so mesmerized when watching Ritchie play. His Hands, Movements, Expressions and all, I just can't take my eyes off him. Been listening since I was a young teen and still Love all of his music. Certainly one of the Greatest ever ! 💖 Will forever Miss RJD.
Blackmore's playing here is where sexuality.meets spirituality. Happening in the here and now when it happened. Made on the spot. How he touches, bends, attacks those snares. That tone. Highest level. Lo and behold, as this level is very rare. Even for him. Tears.
I saw this concert live in my hometown D'dorf on October 9th 95. RB is a genius but the Band is just one of many Rainbow casts. Rainbow without RJD RIP and CP RIP is only a cover Band.
Went to see Rainbow last night in Birmingham. What a gig! The set list that Ritchie has access to is absolutely unbeatable - these videos do not do justice to this vocalists talent. He can sound like the Master, Ronnie James Dio. He can scream like Ian Gillan. He can even take off David Coverdale. Stargazer and Man On The Silver Mountain were goosebumps moments - I would have loved Kill The King to have been included but that would REALLY be having my cake and eating it. I thought I'd never see Ritchie play live again.
Post the “glory days” of Deep Purple Mk.2 in the early 1970s, this is one of the best live performances of “Smoke on the Water” - albeit not “DP” in concert - don’t recall Steve Morse ever coming up with an intro like Ritchie’s in this performance !
This may be a fine ultimate way to use all 5 strat positions on a single intro solo!!! Fender has never ever thought of that and no one has ever palyed through all positions on a sigle not simple tune!!!! You cannot be more black than Blackmore!!
I'm sure that the ones who claim that the first 90 sec is the best intro have not listened live version of this song performed in 93 titled "come hell or high water" yet. It's strongly suggested to listen that version immediately and then let us discuss which one is the best.. 😁
Dislike, for a very simple reason. This is a true cult classic. I am a huuuuuuuuuge fan of Ritchie, but this song cannot be played without Ian, Jon, etc. By the same token, I deeply dislike when DP plays it without Ritchie.
Best guitarist in the world!!
Jep, aber was spielt er jetzt????
Rolf D. Grandio now he is playing medival music with his wife
The best intro ever 👍👍
For me, one of the best guitarists, although in the first place I have Brian May!!!

The best intro ever pity we never got to hear it with Gillan a brill version
Wow Ritchie the best intro ever

I like this bass line much more than the studio one! The way Greg Smith plays It so effortlessly while singing, Marvelous!
Solo is Ritchie searching for notes like only he can, brilliant.
Blackmore is God, no one but the Lord himself can beat him.
So great !!

Totally agree!!!!!!
What's gone wrong with today's music? :(
супер
SUPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER
Just like RUSH the R&R Hall of Fame has missed the boat on this man.
Doogie feat Greg Smith on vocals
Please give me the tab of the intro of this video! =)
Denis Bondarenko that was just part of jam. Rly? You want tab?!
Just type Fucking best intro
Flux the tab this is the greatest intro

They got Sylvester Stallone singing at: 4:31

What a sad finish off Rainbow. Cover your own songs when you made so many great ones. Heck.
It's not Ian Gilan very bad I don't like. Sorry
