Most people have no real conception of the closing speed of NFL defenders. Its unreal. You think there is a gap or an opportunity and then suddenly, two guys are flying into you at maximal velocity.
I remember realizing how unreal the speed and strength is in the nfl when I was a teenager watching a game with Jerome Bettis. There was a play near the endzone where one of the camera angles basically gave you a linebacker's view of the running back, and I tried to picture myself trying to tackle him and I realized I wouldn't have even been able to touch him. (And this was one of the powerbacks of the nfl instead of a shifty runner.)
Wasn't the biggest hit ever, but the other guy's pretty strong i'm sure......and he didn't move much when Jones hit him, so it's kinda like running into a wall.
@@georgec5212 lmao right. Like...a hit to the head is a hit to the head. Doesn't matter if it "looks" like a big hit or not, when you get hit directly in the head....it's a big hit.
Jones lowers the crown of his helmet into the defender’s face mask = no flag. Reverse the scenario = cowboys player is ejected, fined, and possibly suspended, and Giants 1st and Goal from the 18” line
This is a practically unavoidable helmet to helmet collision and concussion in the current form of the game. Fans, the league, players, and advertisers seem to be accepting of this. Should we be? I really don’t know. I go back and forth.
I think we should be. These people spend their lives giving everything they have to this sport. Do you not think they understand the dangers of it more than you, just a fan. They absolutely know what they’re getting into, if a player is scared of injuries, concussions, CTE, then go be an accountant. All sports have an inherent danger, we can do what we can to mitigate that risk, but fundamentally changing the sport to avoid it all together is absolutely wrong. If you as a fan cannot handle seeing players take that risk on the field everyday, then it’s not the sport you should be watching. Accept that these are the risks, and provide solutions to mitigate them, not change the foundations of the sport. Not saying you fall into a certain category, I am just speaking in general.
@@CaptainCooter that's total BS. Are you saying that nothing should be done in industries where there is a known common problem to try and make it safer? I mean, over there in the US, it's like saying you shouldn't become a teacher if you don't accept the risk that you'll get shot at during a mass shooting!

Running backs and fullbacks are supposed to do that job. Why the past several years these quarterbacks wants to run first then pass or hand off second is stupidity game play. Get back to the Old School style.
There's too many mobile "Hybrid" QBs now to just go back, and so Off. coordinators have properly drawn up plays for their mobile QBs, even if Def. Coordinators keep trying to figure them out with little success. Therefore, as was said before, in today's NFL, the mobile "Hybrid" QB is an advantage. They know what they signed up for. You think they don't train themselves up? As QBs they can only get so bulky before losing the mobility and quickness they need.
This video cutoff before you could see that Kearse ran over to Jones and helped him out and called Jones teammates to help him. Classy and respectful.
