- This is a tutorial to show you how to maintain, clean and oil your embroidery machine and also what to do if you have tension problems - either the tension will be too tight or too loose due to excess fluff in the tension plate of the rotary hook.

I didn't see the oiling, just the cleaning of the inside with spirits. Did you clean with spirits, too, and then re-oil?
My Babylock flourish 2 was making the most horrible rattling and squeaking sound. I literally tried EVERYTHING and was ready to take it to the shop. It's only 7 months old. Followed this tutorial and my machine is humming along nicely. Thank you so much!!!!!

Thank you, for your prompt reply.I already tried that. In the meantime someone on Facebook gave me the following tip. To loosen the screws on the frame, and try again. I undid it and started againI and presto it worked. Just in case it happens to anyone else.
Hi this was very helpful. But, do you have a tutorial on how to clean the actual embroidery unit that can be detached for regular sewing?
Thanks for the tutorial! I love cleaning + oiling my vintage singer but didn't want to do any guesswork on this one because of the computerized parts. I will be bringing it to a technician though first because it has been sitting in my Aunt's house for a few years. Lovely Afrikaans accent by the way!

This is wonderful. I have a question my embroidery arm was serviced but wasn't screwed together properly so the arm top doesn't fit flush have you ever taken it apart?
Hi Jane, I have never take my embroidery arm apart - that I will leave to the technician. Take it back to the technician to fix as he did a poor job putting it back together.
Yes, our technician does take it apart when he does a complete service. Take it back to your technician - he needs to
fit it properly.
Don’t forget to clean the embroidery unit! Clean where the hoop goes in, being careful! I use Methylated Spirits.

Thank you. I doesn't know of I can use thread for theeth! I have a Brother innovis 1800Q and 2y ago i have a problem whith safety device cause bad thread. My custom seller broke the basket bobbin and was terrify rumor. So I went to assistence center mese me and replace piece. Lately machine make a strange and metallic soft rumor, sometimes at medium-max fast, Is clear buy I never use oil cause on instruction I ready Is not necessary buy the assistence told me to lubricate on the magnet sometimes. Dorothea, Switch on your machine, Click on the page at the bottom left, go to page 5 and select the biggest hoop size - that will be 30cm x 18cm

The instructions on the PE800 says in BOLD DO NOT OIL MACHINES
Yeah same reason mac tells you not to open the product. Sometimes i gotta clean it yourself
@@planetzrp1776 exactly. tell me why do the maintenance men oil it and then charge you 275 for 20 minutes of work, LOL. they want to make money off you for the next 25 years. that is why the machine has a 25 year warranty. these machines are so easy to maintain. all they ever need is a little oil or to be cleaned with alcohol or spirits. the dust needs to be blown away as well. imagine paying brother 275 a year for service for the next 25 years, LOL.
how often must the V3 be oiled?
Depends on how often you use it - if you haven't use it for a long time them it is preferable to oil it before you start embroider again.

Hi Yvonne, Would gladly help but I do not know the Ellisimo Gold.
I am not familiar with the Ellisimo Gold - would make a suggestion - take it in to the shop where you purchased it from and ask them to replace it for you and show you how to do it yourself next time.

Brother really don't recommend oiling their embroidery machines, they advise you to take them to the authorized dealer to get them oiled
Hi Ms Dwana, I am a Brother dealer and that is the first thing I train my customers. This is nonsense - customers need to know how to maintain their machines. These are the only 2 places you are allowed to oil. If you take it in for its yearly service, the technician takes apart the machine completely and give it a proper oil on all necessary components.
