My sister was a heart recipient and I always wanted to meet the family because they gave her them 20 extra years as she got a chance to become a grandmother of two. It is the most unselfish thing a person can do is give the gift of life to someone else.
My children and I decided to be donors. We think that it is a fair thing to do. It is free of cost to us.
super touching. I am a trauma icu nurse & see incidents where the love one is brain dead & you can imagine the grieve of the family. Not everyone donates, but some do. we never really see what happens on the recipient side. so glad these two families could meet!

In the Netherlands we can fill in a list what organs we would like to donate.
I filled in they can use every organ that's useable.
To me it's important because if I should need a transplant I would be grateful too.
Yes it must be so amazing to have the gift of giving somone else their child even though you have to lose your own child. It just is such a humanity ...absolutely amazing thatw e can do this too.

My dad had a heart transplant 2 years ago & I’d love an opportunity like this. There are no words to express how thankful I am for the gift he received.
The true meaning behind "the heart does go on" He gets to see what the after life is really about, and he will NEVER get over the loss of his daughter yet he's able to see the gift that his daughter left behind and he gets to see this woman live both their lives out❣️

My oldest son passed in 2001 from a hit and run on Oahu... donated his organs. I met his 2 kidney recipients and his heart went to a priest who didn't want to meet us, his liver went to a lady who later passed due to other complications..🤜🤛💪💪
I cant imagine a priest not wanting to meet you after your son's ❤️ heart was donated to the priest. Kind of selfish.

My brother passed away in 1982. We donated his organs. Our family received a letter from the organ donor organization explaining about the lives that were changed because he made that decision. He was 23. All these years later I still feel good that others received the blessing from this. ❤
My Aunt had a brain aneurysm. She was a Donor and we all had the opportunity to say Bye to her.
My cousin later received letters from the recipients and he framed them in memory of my Aunt.
In the UK we arn’t allowed to know who gives us the organs for stalking rights etc. So everything is remained anonymous here. I know this as my brother recently had a kidney transplant from someone who passed but we weren’t allowed to contact the family to thank them.
The United States use to be the same way

@@darleneduran9414 I know. I was appreciative of the fact that we were told which organs were transplanted. Knowing others lived on because of my brother was very comforting to us. This was in Denver in 1982. Not sure if the same practices in place that long ago. 😊

The father of the donor being able to connect with the recipient, as if his daughter lives on through her, is a truly beautiful and touching experience. Organ donation is pure generosity. So lovely they met. I have seen some folks give teddy bears with the heartbeat to donor families. Just so lovely.
I am a lung transplant patient and I reached out twice to my donor's family and I'm saddened that they never accepted wanting to meet me. It is there choice I feel you're so lucky to be able to express how thankful you are.

Its such a hard decision sometimes to make upon grieving for a loved one, so many thoughts & emotions pour through you making it sometimes very tough. This video shows the power of an organ doner. One organ doner can save 8 lives. Organ donation can include the heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, pancreas, and intestines, with the potential to help multiple people with various medical needs and conditions. Such a powerful/ touching video.
And many more "organs" can also be donated such as skin, eyes, and ear drums, etc. My nephew was given a new heart and my brother was given new ear drums. Being an organ donor is a special gift to sooooo many people. Not everyone is comfortable with the thought of being a donor, and I can respect that, but as someone who has family members as recipients, I am forever grateful for your sacrifice. God bless you all 🙏🫶

Our nephews organs were donated. There was 9 recipients of his organs. It helps to know part of him is living on and helping others live their life.

recipients often take on some of the personalities of the donors because around organs is surrounded by connective tissue. By evolution or design the connective tissue is electric magnetic & fiber optic conductive, one property of electric magnetic fields is the ability to hold memory.

@@teenee4the only organ that holds that would be the brain. My wife's brother died in a motorcycle accident an almost all his organs were donated an we've met all the people who received them. We're also very good friends with two of them an I can assure you this is complete bullshit
There are many testimonies of recipients clarifying this. Taking on completely different hobbies or interests then finding out later it’s what their donor did, mostly heart donors. There must be something in it 🤷♀️
My brother passed from a motorcycle accident.

My parents and I got to meet the gentleman that received his heart .
Back in the mid 80s.

The man's name was Bernie Oldham.
He was a great man. He took me fishing. And let me hear my brother's heart pumping in his chest.

My dad recently passed away and was able to donate his liver and I wish I could have met the recipient and their family and pray over them before they received the liver.
