- When interacting with web pages we might search a term, click a link, download a file, upload a file and so on. For all these operations, we have to find the respective element and click or perform other operations on that particular element. In our code also, we are going to do the same. Let’s find out how to find the elements in this video. Here, we are going to find the search box of Google and send some search term into it with the help of selenium and Java. #selenium #tamil #arulprasath

"The method sendKeys(CharSequence[]) in the type WebElement is not applicable for the arguments (String)"
try tis:
1) check if you have closed the braceket properly
or
2)
It has a simple solution. Change your compiler compliance level from 1.4 to 1.7.
Follow these steps in your eclipse:
Right click on your java project and select Build Path -> Click on
Configure Build Path...
In project properties window, Click/select Java Compiler at the left
panel
At the right panel, change the Compiler compliance level from 1.4 to 1.7
(Select which is higher version in your eclipse)
Lastly Click on Apply and OK

The essence remains the same as far as selenium is concerned. Once they get the grasp of the basics, they can easily master the changes without much effort. All libraries are ever growing, it will be difficult for me to update the courses always, if I do so, I won't be able to cover the rest of the new stuff. Once the base for testing with java stack is done, will make videos on new changes. Hope u understand. Thanks for the suggestion

Hi sowmiya, keyword driven framework is the least used in any organisation and I don't recommend you spending time. You should be focusing more on data driven and page object models. I'm currently held up with katalon studio tutorials. Post completion of that, have several other most important things on pipeline. If needed for your use, will try to find some framework, and share you.

As for as the job opportunities, ISTQB or any sort of certificatiom is not at all a concern. If you were a recruiter, what if the person is having a certification and not answering the questions up to your expectation? Will you hire them? It can be a value added thing. But not a job assuring thing. If you have time and money, you can do any certification u want. It's up to u. But is it necessary? In my opinion , no .

Locators selecting preference when to select which locator
In the video itself I would have mentioned. If you have concrete or human readable ID it should be the first preference. If not, name, if not class name. If nothing is available xpath or css selector. Link text and partial link text are exclusively for links. Tag name is needed when you are going to fetch elements based on tags.

Just stick with chrome for now. No such element means it couldn’t find the search box. Add thread.sleep(5000) . This will add 5 seconds wait time.

Failed to lauch GPU process.opening in existing browser error came and timed out error came for the driver to start
Make sure you use the correct version as per your browser. Else update the browser and use the latest driver.

Which browser are you using? In almost all the browsers u can see inspect elements, upon clicking it, it wil take u to elements. Then there will be a cursor icon, if u click on that one, u can start inspecting it
@@LearnAutomationOnline I use Google Chrome and I can see the inspect option once I right click. But when that inspect window open.. I couldn't find inspector tab in that.
As I said, click on the arrow mark pointer, available before the mobile icon. U can inspect elements

If ur code has two new chrome driver line, it will open two chrome browsers. Check the console what exception are u getting
