Hats off to you General Shankar for taking up this topic and inviting an expert like General KJ Singh to talk about it’s critical nature and complexity of demography, multiple boarders with four countries and also different boarder policing these four international boarders. It was the sheer foolishness of the Indian Administration then in 1972, on concluding of Bangladesh war of not negotiating with Bangladesh for the protruding areas of Bangladesh sufficient enough to widen the chicken neck area and also with Pakistan for the POK, all in exchange of securing freedom to Bangladesh & handing over of 93,000 POW's of Pakistan to Pakistan respectively. Both Pakistan and Bangladesh were extremely vulnerable in 1972 and India had all its voice on her side then. Totally visionless Indian Administration then.

At the time of Bangladesh liberation India should have taken care of this vulnerability by having territory exchange with the new nation to have better width by subsuming the protruding land of Bangladesh and in exchange giving some area in Assam of same area. But that chance has been missed. Your comment please.

Siliguri couldn't develop into one big city in north east India inspite of Siliguri being at the gate way to mainland India and entire north east because of bad manners and behaviour of people of this areas, Siliguri is the hot seat of goons,robbers, looters, cheats deceives and lots lots such bad things.
