I was delighted to watch this video on Maria Bowardy, Blessed Mary of Jesus Crucified, once again. It was a joy to be associated with the shooting of the section at St. Ann's Convent, in Mangalore, India, the Mother House of the Apostolic Carmel Sisters, at the time Luai Zaher and Rabab Zaitoun visited us and stayed with us. I missed the name of our Foundress, Venerable Mother Veronica of the Passion in the video, who was her Novice Mistress at the Novitiate of St. Joseph of the Apparition in France. Mariam Bowardy and she were bosom friends and when Mariam was denied continuance in the congregation, Mother Veronica grieved but she who simultaneously had a divine call "I want you in Carmel' and had sought permission from the Holy See to leave the Congregation and to go to the Carmel of Pau, secured the permission at the same time, so she invited Mariam to the Carmel of Pau and took her along with her. After Mother Veronica founded the Apostolic Carmel Congregation, Mariam was one of the three Cloister Carmel Sisters who accompanied the Apostolic Carmel Sisters from France to Mangalore and lived at St. Ann's Convent for two years, making her Solemn Profession there. The Cloister Carmel was eventually shifted to a new place, Sacred Heart Monestery, Kankanady, Mangalore. Mother Veronica was also one of the group that went to Bethlehem along with Mary of Jesus Crucified and Mary of Jesus Crucified died in her arms. I pray to Blessed Mary who will be canonized on May, 17, 2015 to intercede for our Foundress, Venerable Mother Veronica to be raised to the Altars very soon. I am confident she will accomplish it. Dear Mariam Bowardy Pray for us. Amen
Oh yay!!! Thank you so much!! A new violin friend who likes my Saint video too!! ❤️🎻🎶🙏🏻😇 (well not made by me, I got this video from the Carmelites in Bethlehem a few years ago) Happy to meet you!!! I subscribed to your channel too yay!! 😃🎻
Sure thing! I need to change the title of this to Saint Mariam now. Also I have a friend who went this summer, and they have a whole new museum for her now at the Carmel in Bethlehem. I went in 2014. She’s amazing ...
Just thought I'd mention with this video, the complete biography on her life "Mariam, The Little Arab" by Fr. Amédée Brunot is available at both the Carmel in Bethlehem and the one in Eugene, Oregon (USA) where the nun lived (I am not sure if she is still alive) who translated it into English. Also, I wanted to mention one thing it clarifies in this video in particular is the part where they say, sometimes it seemed as though she was possessed by the devil. Actually she was, specifically on two occasions, for a limited amount of time, which Our Lord allowed. It is written about in detail in that book, and the many other extraordinary things about her life. Finally, I wanted to mention, she's being canonized this year May 17th, which is the same day 90 years ago that St. Therese was canonized in 1925. St. Therese, the Little Flower & soon to be St. Mary of Jesus Crucified, the Little Arab, pray for us!
I might make this unlisted however, since I ought to ask the nuns first if they don't mind it being on youtube. so if you know how to download youtube videos, you might want to save it while you can :) you can order this from them as well.
Thank you. I have been drawn to this saint for a few months. I do not know why but this and the book you mention below are the most I can find about her. Thanks and God Bless.
Yes I think this is everything on her in English. I went to her Carmel in Bethlehem in 2014 and didn’t see anything else. But the biography is pretty complete. I’ve seen some recent videos though from Bethlehem and they added a whole new museum to the Carmel. Maybe some day you can go 🙏🏻
@@laudemgloriae3 I hope so because I have seen it online. Do you have a link to the book. I could not find it in print anywhere to order online. Prayers.

this was made by the Carmelite nuns in Bethlehem. it's part of a DVD I got there, but not the whole thing :) yes, it's really beautiful!
I might make this unlisted however, since I ought to ask the nuns first if they don't mind it being on youtube. so if you know how to download youtube videos, you might want to save it while you can :) you can order this from them as well.
It's a shame that she's not a saint yet. She should have been canonized a long time ago. What a beautiful soul!
She was just canonized this year! :) or maybe it was last year. Anyway yeah I need to edit the title :)
Really? She IS a saint now? Oh that's wonderful! I loved watching the video of her life. What a beautiful soul!
