All the chestnut trees in the woods that i grew up in in Bromley are no longer standing today unfortunately, many good memories picking up chestnuts for years as a kid. 45 years later, theyre gone...lovely to see others still doing it

I also remember the chestnut man in the high streets and next door you could get hot Sarspirella (spelled that wrong i know it 😂 ) to go with the hot chestnuts. Neither are there now, good times back then

Great haul chap. Ive been a bit lax with foraging this yr. I sont know of any decent chestnut trees around here sadly, love me a roasted chestnut!
They were tasty, and as I had not picked the walnut trees this year It was a welcome treat. Looking forward to what I can scavange in December...
