Also a man has a deep voice that shakes the core so why would he need to result to hitting his daughter is my question? Kids are more inclined to listen to the father then the mother. Now before you say what about the sons, yes it can happen with them too but men usually grow into the character of "I'm no punk" and also the mother, a good one, will say never to let a female put their hands on them. All in all a father brings more fear to table with what they have while a mother does not. Guess it's an instinct thing. As I said probably not the answer you want but hey at least I answered the question with what I think.

If it's on the bum it's fine for both the father and mother to do but again, keep in mind a father will majority of the time be a little bit more rough then the mother but the bum has enough cushion so it should be fine.
