Yes. If you have regrets, it's so much worse to regret what you DIDN'T do. At least she knows she tried to do the right thing, even if the kid (well, now an adult) went on a rampage tomorrow, at least she tried. But I think she intervened in time, We'll never really know for sure but I truly feel she saved lives.

Parents need to understand that sometimes protecting their children, means protecting them from themselves. This Mama is a shining example of what that means.
I believe in freedom of speech. Is now sure a threat violates freedom of speech. But how do you know anything was prevented. If it hasn't been acted on how do you know it was going to happen? When these kids rise up to you old ignorant f****. I'll be standing with them
@mypetdonkey maybe, maybe not. Some people enter puberty and then the brain turn all screwy and violent. In the old days these kind of people become war lords and kings like Alexander the Great and Genghis Khan. Nowadays their violence are not appreciated.
@mypetdonkey nah sometimes kids are born like that. There are parents that have super well-behaved kids who barely needed to be told what-to-do. People are individuals from birth. Some are just rotten.
@mypetdonkey that’s such a cut and dry mentality to have. I grew up battling severe depression, and turned to self-harm. Never in a million years did I want others to experience my pain, nor did I ever place blame on others for my suffering. And at that same time, my parents never knew I was doing the things I was doing to myself. Though they did recognize something wasn’t right and got my a therapist and psychologist. We are deceitful individuals, and with enough shame, we will hide our traits, habits and motives. Just like a spouse who cheats on another. They know the pain and repercussions (providing they aren’t mentally stunted), and yet they carry on with their infidelity. Blaming the victim-spouse isn’t right. I fully agree and understand, too, though, that you can be a product of an environment. But to just “she’s probably to blame”, that’s an incredibly diluted thought.
Good for her. Her son needed help, and she probably saved lives. Too many parents think their kid is perfect and can do no wrong so they don’t know how to handle something like this.
Yeah no she needs more help y’all fuxkin sheep grow up y’all don’t know shii about the youth what they watch what happens in school either they kill themselves or others that told to kill themselves schools are rubbish, this kid will prolly off himself later because of this..... no one stops the real bullying because THEY GET AWAY WITH IT🤡🤡🤡🤡
Or they just ignore obvious signs of mental stress, like my mother. I have to be sobbing and staying awake three days a row because of my depression for her to take me seriously. Then they wonder why their kids are like they are as adults or want nothing to do with them.
Exactly. I know a few that think their kids are just so perfect and I see a couple psychopaths in the making and these "parents" don't see the problems coming
@@RobloxGamer12941 my parents were like that as well. My brother has a lot of problems, he’s bi polar, refuses meds, he’s violent, he’s a criminal (did time in federal prison) THEY STILL THINK HES DONE NOTHING WRONG. It drives me insane!
Yeah that's true because I'm 22 and it's a whole lot of teenagers out here that are doing things that they don't have any business doing. And I encourage all parents to stay in their children's business.
I don't think you need to completely be in your kids personal bubble 24/7 sense space is extremely important, but so many parents ignore the signs. Especially in kids that are depressed. I've noticed some parents get too close into kids personal bubbles and when their kid confesses or shows them the signs they completely ignore them because they didn't actually care and just wanted to feel like they had power over the kid.
@Wander Woo You can say that with ease and surety ? anyone could have been responsible for those monsterous thoughts...or it's just him...Bottom line here is that this mother did what had to be done...It's a bitter sweet fact and more on the sweeter side of things now....She gets a good parenting award w top honors ! !
“Stay in their business” Yes, This mother is a hero! It’s so important for parent’s to stay involved in what their kids are doing. I hated it as a kid, but now I’m happy my parents kept an eye on me.
I never had my business because it was always our business, my mother was and is always active in her kid’s lives. She is what some people would considered strict but I love her for that 💕
As a very private teenager who has admittedly gotten into spats with their parents over “being in my business”, watching this woman speak brings an entirely new perspective to light for me. Mad respect, Mrs. Schubert. We need more parents like you in the world.
I think some kids do just vent verbally or write to cope maybe some just need counseling though. Myself and friends used to write all sorts of stuff as teens and killed no one. Like a violent video game now it's not real.
@@arihoward-tate6371 Agreed. Parents need to be aware of what the child is up to, both online and with their peers, but they still need to treat their children as human beings. With respect and understanding, not as dictators. A lot of parents rarely take the time to explain their decisions to their kids, it ends up feeling like the parent is just flaunting their power over the child.
Can we give her an award? After all the cases of school shooters we've heard, we've seen how the parents knew something was up and didn't do enough or anything at all. Great point. Turning in evidence of your child, or sibling, or online friend SHOULD be rewarded and heralded as a hero’s act. It IS a hero’s act and we should start treating it as such. You’re right, I think we’d get more people coming forward if they felt confidence that what they were doing was 100% the right thing, and erasing any doubts they might have for doing so.
Heartbroken woman baring her soul wrenching pain! 😭😢 Could you be as brave?! Bless her and hoping her son has a change of heart. But for right now, he is at the best place he could be and away from harming others. 👍🙏🏻
Difficult decision for any parent. But this woman's actions, conduct and behaviour serves a benchmark for every other parent to adhere to. Quite a heart breaking story with a positive outcome. Time is the healing factor.
@Mazes S A You’re right, 1 felony is better than several, where many people would have also been slaughtered…so that was a wise trade. And refusing to be manipulated by the son who wanted to to kill you and commit mass murder is also a pro in my book. Completing treatment doesn’t absolve him of anything nor does it give him control of her actions. And they’ve been pretty good actions thus far
This woman is a hero and an inspiration to all parents. I'm 25 years old now and I remember being so annoyed when my mother and father went through my things when I was a teenager but now I understand that they meant well. Back then I was in a really dark mental state and they just wanted to make sure I was safe.
My ex didn’t have helpful parents. Before our relationship began he admitted he resented me for not speaking to him as often and how he had thoughts similar to this. I decided to just be with him, for the sake of whoever. I hated my life, and I thought the only way out was killing myself. We have broken up and to my knowledge he is in a healthier mindset and doing good things for himself. He had abusive parents and his mental illness was caused by environment. This woman did right by her child. She’s helped so many people, or even one person, from having to bare that burden. If his parents cared, they could’ve known what was going on.

Not only did she save her son and the entire school, she saved herself.. I couldn’t imagine being in her shoes but I am so glad she took right right steps
Her cleavage crack must be soaked based on what you described. Nothing bad happened though, did you watch the whole video? She is fine, her son is fine, she saved him, he is at home and working a job now, the rehabilitation program helped him out apparently, so until someone bites down into a pipe bomb in their burger, it appears the lad is cured!
As a mom, I can clearly see and feel her pain. She saved lives, most likely her own and her son's, as well. She is a hero. I hope she gets honored for it. I hope her son gets the help he needs and she does too. That's a lot to deal with. 💔 Prayers sent.
It’s a lose, lose situation for her. Report her son before an incident or her son will be in prison forever after an incident. At least lives are saved and her son is not in prison, there’s still a chance for reconciliation
I hope the community, the parents and families of the kids in his school, come together and publicly, vocally support this woman's courage. We need to encourage this kind of parenting.
I hope Mom gets tons of support. My gosh, this is so sad. Every parent thinks they know their kids, that they would “never do that”. It’s such a common response as a parent in these situations. I hope she continues to stay strong.

If you want to make an intelligent point, know how to spell it. It's *whose, not who's. Both of them were victims. That kid who shot up that school very well could've suffered bullying and abuse. @Mazes S A And how "much of a life" would he have had if he had implemented his plan? He'd be dead or in prison for the rest of his life. As a minor, his records will be sealed and it won't affect his furure much at all.
Her son went to my high school. I was in a class with him, we even worked in group projects together. I never saw the signs, but after this came out, I remembered a time in class when we did a shooting drill. We all sat in the back corner of the class in silence. I very clearly remember him saying that these drills were stupid, because “the shooter would be a student. they’d know we’re all hiding in the corner” I think about this almost everyday. I had constant nightmares. I saw him working at a store a couple years ago and had a panic attack right there. We had an incident at the same school only a year before where two students broke into the office with weapons. Luckily they were apprehended almost immediately, but we were still in lockdown for hours, not knowing if someone were about to burst through the door and kill us. I have so much trauma from being a student in America, and it’s the reason I dropped out of that high school and moved to an online program. The nightmares have only just recently started slowing down, and I left 4 years ago. We can’t keep living like this. I wish I could thank this mom. She not only saved me, but she also saved my little brothers. In the notebooks he planned to attack the school on the anniversary of Columbine. In my opinion, this was not “fantasy” he was writing. I’m sure he actually planned to do this. I still have panic attacks when I think about this and what could have happened.
I cant imagine going through all that, i hope you can find more closure as time does it thing. I also dont think we can keep living like this, doing drills at school knowing its not enough

Hello Yvette how are you doing today.
Her son went to my high school. I was in a class with him, we even worked in group projects together. I never saw the signs, but after this came out, I remembered a time in class when we did a shooting drill. We all sat in the back corner of the class in silence. I very clearly remember him saying that these drills were stupid, because “the shooter would be a student. they’d know we’re all hiding in the corner”
I think about this almost everyday.

@@kernalbert4939 sometimes its the parents fault, an outside influence, or an issue in the brain
@@promisen8460 Her being on television talking about it indicates to me where the fault likely is.
She looks like such a good loving mom. That was probably the most difficult decision she’s made.
My parents were always in my business. Blessings and prayers for this mom and her son. That took love and courage
I'm extremely proud of your courage, selflessness and common sense to alert the police about the disturbing things you revealed about your own son. So grateful for what you did and sorry for what you had to go through. I know it must be so difficult to make that decision but you did the right thing and we owe you a debt of gratitude because you may have saved dozens of lives and prevented more senseless suffering.
You ARE a parent, you ARE a Mom and that is your job. What a good role model. Staying in your child's business IS your right, you saved what could have been many, his life, AND your own. May you find peace and God keep you close.
There's nothing like a mother's love 💘
I can't express how deeply this was an act of love for her son
Wow lovely comment ,where are you connecting from my dearest friend?

My heart goes out to her. She loves her child but she knew what she had to do. I thank her for doing what a lot of parents/guardiama, etc have failed to do. I pray more people will stop ignoring signs. GOD bless her.🙏🏾🙏🏾
She loved him so much, she likely saved him by turning him in. She certainly saved others in her community. What an amazing woman. We should all aspire to be as strong.
This is what being a parent means. We try and when we fail we continue to try and save our lost child. You saved more lives. You did what was right. Please listen to your children and be honest about who they are and if they need help GET IT! Mental health is as important as the dentist, our kids need evaluation and treatment. Love to all
They should have monthly check ups at a professional clinic but nowadays some parents more concern there child getting more social media followers
This mom is the "mother" that our society truly values and puts above all else. So many people have children but are never parent them. Hopefully her son can talk to her again and understand that she did this video to raise awareness, not bash him. Whatever was in that book were his own actions, and it's not her fault she called the cops, she had to. Not only does he have a true mother, but one that protected him from doing things he might not have thought he was capable of. Not many people can say that, they go down all sorts of wrong paths, he had a mom who put him on the right one. I hope he can regognise that serious actions have serious consequences and "forgive" her in his heart. His life could've taken a much much worse turn if she ignored that book.
@Rikers Island Democrats Nest WOW, what a complete imbecile! Too bad you don't live where her & her son do, you could have been one of his victims!!
@Rikers Island Democrats Nest what? Is he gonna mass shoot? It had to be done
@Rikers Island Democrats Nest I feel sorry that you view the world through such a contrived lens.
I hope that he comes to his senses as this goes on and realizes that his mother is nothing but a traitor and a whor* of a false God.
That poor mama 🥺. I can’t imagine how hard that is. She’s a hero. A brave hero
This is an example of a REAL mom. Not just protecting her kids but possibly other kids and innocent people.
Oh, I just want to hug this woman. Being a parent is so hard, but this woman's story is on a whole nother level. I've always said if you can't handle the consequences of a choice, pick a different route. she chose to protect so many lives, knowing the fallout would hurt her. So selfless. You are my hero.
👏👏👏 ✝️🙏🏻❤️😀
There’s RIGHT and WRONG, and she Choose to do the right thing.. 🙌 you are my type of Parent.. it’s hurts, but in the long Run, it’s worth it… My heart cries for her, I would do the same thing if I was in that position…🙏🙏🙏 Mom
I am so devastated for her. I have had moments when my kids have deeply hurt me but I cannot imagine having to do what she did but I consider her an “earth mother” for caring for all the children and their families. That takes the strength of a titan. May God strengthen you.
No may GOD STRENGTHEN YOU!!
It doesn't take a strength of a titan but a mother that truly loves and cares.
@@rosahacketts1668 a Mother that cares with strength from TMH included! You have to have the strength to keep you going these days. That love and care should already be there from the time you gave birth. Even though in today's world some Mothers or Parents don't love or care for their children as they should. That's why it's important to ask GOD for the strength you need to carry on. The devil is so busy until if you don't have the strength that is so needed he will SUCK you dry from whatever energy you do have in your body!
Finally, a good, DECENT loving parent that wants to step in a save both her son and others. Most parents sadly turn a blind eye and would even LIE to cover them up. She's a good mom. Now her son will hopefully get the psychological help that he needs.
Meta truth exactly
Don’t really think she’s a good mom at all but
@Mr. Bongs BurgH Society can do that as well.
@Mr. Bongs BurgH I highly doubt she had neglected him for years, if she had she would have just ignored this also.
Damned if you do, damned if you don’t, some people are never satisfied? What if your child or someone you love went to the school he was planning on going to, would you still call her a neglectful mom or would you thank her.
@@Harley57 I think in this case she was not neglectful, in fact the way she describes constantly bugging him about what he is doing/going to do is very overbearing, but it's definitely not being a bad parent. In this case, of course, I'm very glad she did.
Absolutely inspiring to see a parent that doesn’t stay in denial and actually cares to save her child and others. She’s a hero. I hope more parents stay this aware. It’s a heartbreaking situation as well, and I hope she has a wonderful support team in her life to bring her comfort and love. I also appreciate that the child was not around guns, as any child needs to have those out of their easy reach. Even adults that struggle with suicidal, homicidal, or just aggressive behavior need weapons as powerful as guns to stay away from their hands. Reasonable actions like that saves lives. ❤️
Bless her heart ♥️ “Stay in their business” - This should be the motto for all parents. I pray she finds peace - and her son sees the light and gets his life straight.
it's a double edged sword. it can uncover things like this, but suspicion like that can easily worsen a relationship with someone's parents. it easily pushes some to hide things further because knowing that the parent is "in their business" because of something the child likely won't even do makes them feel really insecure. there's more than just being in their business, you have to parent too.
@@abaddon2148 "Likely won't even do". Given what's happened in the last decade, she absolutely made the right decision. Did you wake from a fucking coma?
@@abaddon2148 My parents were all up in my business. And I might not have liked it at the time, but this is exactly a parents job. There's no point in resenting their job. This very thing kept me from doing stupid things on lots of occasions. And there is a difference between being strict and paying attention. Because they weren't strict.
@@abaddon2148 Absolutely.
When you are a child living on my damn house you don’t have no business !!!! Everything is open for me to check!! I don’t give a damn if the child gets mad. My house my rules. Start this with them when they are young so they already overstand when their older. They can have their own business when they move out!!!
I can't imagine growing a child inside you, loving them, watching every milestone and then reading they want to murder you. My heart aches for this mom. But I'm glad she did what she did and saved her child and countless others.
It’s most likely hidden mental issues that’s why their are sooo many violent acts in Ny cause most of them are homeless people with mental issues walking around
Kids aren’t bad for no reason. Take a harder look at the upbringing
@@cassideereimer3527 and it's not only the upbringing that affects child development. This is why I was saying that everyone needs to take a child development course... Because too many ignorant people just point a hand at the parents whenever the child does anything wrong, completely ignoring that there are a vast number of sources that influence a child's thought process. I mean so many studies have been talking about how easy it is for kids to be online and come across extremist opinions that corrupt their own. There are friends, there's the media, there's the school environment, the neighborhood environment, and that's just looking at sociocultural factors. There's also biological reasons that would require medical attention and CBT treatment.
We really need more people like her. Great parenting from her!
She did the right thing thank you for saved many lives.
You can tell she’s absolutely heartbroken saying this. She’s such a strong woman. “Stay in their business” was powerful, especially these days. Everyone has so much access to all sorts of things we never had easy access to before, including children. Sending her love.
This woman is a good parent for trusting her intuition about what to do. She protected her son and the school community from potential violence. Gut wrenching decision for her but absolutely the right one! Her son is working on his future and his school mates are too. Good job mom!! More parenting like this please!
But then went on national television and told everyone after he's been rehabilitated and doing well. Yeah really great mother 🙄
@@samkennedy5554 I wouldn’t have done that but I think her message to other parents is to watch what your kids are doing and turn them in, get them help. That’s how I view her decision to come forward.

What a beautiful act by this mother. I couldn’t imagine going against your child but this woman is a hero. God bless this woman for the rest of her life. ♥️ The world needs her and others like her.
She did the right thing by turning in her son! I can see she would rather have her son angry at her yet save many lives, rather than do nothing and have multiple deaths haunting her mind forever. She also put the safety of the whole school ahead of herself and her son.
Thanks also to her for saying that her son's business is her business as a parent!
I dont believe she’s going against her child.

you only wish the son well because he wasn't able to act on his feelings. Kid deserves jail time for the rest of his life just like any other mass murderer. Only difference between him and others is a smart mother. The fact that he has the nerve to tell his mom that he won't speak to her again because he can't harm people is disgusting. Disgraceful kid.
