I really wish American cities would adopt subway systems like this one. Very basic and straightforward. Also those tunnels should be easy to build, only like 12ft in diameter.
The narrow tunnels and small trains are pretty good for a city like Glasgow, in a bigger city in the USA they would probably be way too small from the amount of passengers being transported
I have a quick question about the Glasgow Subway My wife and I are visiting Glasgow shortly and are wondering whether there is a system to use the buses and the Subway, much like the Oyster card system in London and the daily ticket in Edinbugh. I see there’s a Subway smartcard you can apply for, but it looks like this is only valid on the Subway, with a £3 maximum daily total. That seems perfect, but if the buses cost extra, it would maybe be sensible just to use the Subway on one day, then maybe only the bus on another. Having the flexibility to use both would be a better option though.
www.spt.co.uk/tickets/zonecard/ A one week zonecard costs £20.90 and covers subway and buses. You can buy it at central station or queen street station but will need a passport size photo. Generally though youre better off buying day tickets for subway and buses separately. Glasgow needs an Oyster Card system - the government are building the Clyde Metro, but it wont be fully integrated and operational for a decade.
@@TheScottishWalkingChannel Many thanks for your reply. We'll only be in Gasgow for 4 days, so we'll just get day tickets and keep with one mode of transport per day. Yes, if London can do it and Edinbugh too, why can't Glasgow? Regards from Whitley Bay
That was brilliant. Thank you.

Thanks for a vid on the subway In love with the subway Earned my sub
Glad you enjoyed it! New video every friday!
Very good challenge on the Glasgow Subway. Hence why it's the only underground subway in Glasgow. Whilst London has 11 tube lines.
The third oldest Metro in Europe after London and Budapest.
