I always get excited too when spotting a basket at a thrift store and/or garage sale. That’s how my collection got so big. At one time I had about 50😳 I use them all over my home but since we recently downsized I’m having to pick & choose which to keep. It’ll be hard to get rid of them. My daughter is a collector also. Was glad to see another younger person who understands the value of them. 🧺
Wow I have a few of these same baskets. That miniature one was highly coveted in the day, collectors club special...from the J.W. collection. $100! I have all those miniatures from that specific collection. My husband literally told me to purchase the miniatures. He fell in love with the craftsmanship of them. We visited Dresden in 1997 shortly after I became a consultant and he was thrilled also to tour the giant basket in 1999. I think they can even fit in with more modern decor if you know how to use and display...all these years later I still use them all. Still so sad to see how cheaply they are being sold. This was the day before the internet, and the baskets were unique!
I actually bought that tiny little basket you have your coasters in {mine says 2001 inaugural basket} and I paid $75 YES SEVENTY FIVE 😱😱😱😱😱for it back then.... I've got quite the collection that I started way back then. Of course I would NEVER pay that much for probably ANYTHING now unless it was a serious piece of furniture or something. However, I've had them for so long that I can spot a real LONGABERGER basket from a mile away so when I spot one in a thrift store or whatever, omg I will literally RUN to it, check the price and if it's cheap, I'll literally go pay for it, put it in the car, then go back in and finish shopping. Lol 😂
I live near to the longenberger factory.i used to work at an embrodery that made the basket liners.the longenber company isnt doing so well since the owner died and his daughters took over the business.i love longenberger too.
I have a huge collection of Longaberger baskets!! I was wondering if you have ever painted any? Some of the baskets have colors that I'm am over.. Like hunter green. I used to be worried about ruining their resale value but now I don't think you can get too much out of them anyway and would rather enjoy them in a color I like... Any thoughts appreciated!
My mom has a ton of Longaberger and allowed me to have a few pieces to paint. I tried painting with chalk paint and a paint brush and that wasn't very successful bc even though I was careful and used only a little bit, paint pooled in the crevices of the basket. I then tried spray chalk paint and that was perfect! It filled in all the places and wasn't too heavy and has held up really well. I hope this helps!
Those are great finds! I have many Longaberger baskets from the 90’s. I still use many of them daily. Some are more decorative and are being stored currently. So many ways to use them.
Nick Baker ME TOO! I love Longaberger Baskets and their Pottery! I can’t believe they have gone out of business ☹️. I have been collecting Longaberger for over 24 years! Nothing compares to the quality of their basket and even their dishes! I know this message and video is old... but just going down through Holly’s old video and the LONGABERGER POPPED OUT AT ME !!! LOL! ❤️
I have a pinterest board for Longaberger baskets with 200+pins! I have lots of their baskets but haven't put them to good use, so I love your ideas for organizing with them!
you & your daughter are so cute! The youtube folks did a typo on your video title - the baskets are Longaberger , (named after the founder Dave Longaberger). Love all of your treasures!
Awww thank u so much! Thanks so much for commenting. Just watched the video again and love being able to watch my little ones growing up and be able to have these videos saved!!! Hope you have a wonderful day Xoxo Holly

You should have shown where you put them instead of telling where you put them.
