This man seems to be an Ego-Monster-Matrix-Agent of division. Im looked him up because there was a "racist" statue of a slave trader that people tore down and tossed into a lake, and then, without permission from the city, there appeared a statue of a black woman holding a fist in the air (a woman who has stated that she hate all white people) , and it caused a huge roar, amd was taken down immediately, it had "orchestrated chaos" written all over it.

I don’t think he’s being narcissistic - that’s a very naïve way of looking at his artwork. There are no rules in art. He’s not trying to explore and value himself through his artwork, he is exploring the transformation of the human body, rather than just his own.

Cedric if that even is your real name, Marc Quinn is a contemporary sculptor who primarily uses nontraditional materials in his artworks and has gained popularity through exploring certain themes like the human body, life and death such as himself. His works stem from his fascination and curiosity about human existence and fragility which is far from Nartistic as his look is the focus point, not him as a person

Narcissistic? Well Cedric, I would have to disagree with you here. Quinn’s artworks aim to unconventionally shine a light upon 21st century issues relating to identity that are overlooked by general society. The issues that he discusses are ones not about himself in the slightest so I believe you should re-evaluate your definition of narcissism. Take Quinn’s complete marble series for example. The purpose of these works is to express the beauty of those who are physically disabled and bring forward the hardships that they face. Why is it ok for classic sculptures to be incomplete with missing appendages, but not ok in real life? Quinn is selflessly challenging this idea by cleverly titling his work as the ‘complete marbles.’ How does this in anyway depict Quinn as being self-obsessed or self-indulged? The artworks having nothing to do himself apart from the fact that he created them

      Dear Cedric,
Imagine waiting 9 months to be called Cedric
Your cynical remark that labels Quinn as narcissistic is invalid. Quinn powerfully employs himself as the canvas and the subject matter not as a reflection of his ego, but as a courageous message of his vulnerability and struggling human condition. Quinn highlights through his so called, ‘narcissistic’ artworks, his weakness to alcohol and inability to adhere to societal standards, so how does this make him self-indulgent? Quinn actually exposes prominent issues in society by opening himself up to vulnerability.

Really great early stuff on disability, but the later works just devolve into your typical crass contemporary art world celebration of celebrityism and inane woke neoliberal politics.
