The rejection of others is often affirmation that you are doing something original, or at least different from the majority. He obviously believed in himself, despite all the criticisms and his own insecurities.
It was very interesting to learn about this wonderful artist. Thank you.

I simply cannot put into words what joy goes through my mind when I look at the painting titled The Railway Cutting-1870. Could stare at it for hours. This to me is the definition of great art. To be able to stare at a single piece for hours. Thank you Paul for posting this video and literally changing my life for the better.

Hi Paul, thank you very much for creating and sharing these videos. I work for a day service for people with disabilities and in these strange times we are continuing with our service remotely, via zoom sessions. I teach art and design and I have found your videos to be a great intro to the artist before we start our own work inspired by them. So far we have watched this video and the one on Mondrian, both of which are excellent and perfect for my client group. I shall continue to search out your videos, even after lockdown. They are a great resource. thank you.

Cézanne's use of blue, I personally find it amazing, his use of it sets the tone of the entire background, with such a rich as well lush texture, to the the background , he's ventured into a realm where Cézanne's work has this dreamy, calming effcet, and it adds such a stable element to the whole of the painting.

I totally identify, as certainly many others must, with his struggles btw paying the bills and doing what he loved, certain relationships and personal freedom and happiness, and being different and unappreciated for it. Surely there's some of all that in every generation. But Cezanne was such an explorer where his painting was concerned. And for that and his ancestry to the rest of us, I applaud him! And you for these marvelous video lessons. Merci beaucoups, Paul.

Very well done. I have spent approx. 20 years studying Paul Cezanne and I can honestly tell you I don't think you have missed anything out except for his Paris work and his very early paintings which I can tell you are awfull , absolutely horrid. I have painted about fifteen of his paintings and learned a great deal in the process. I have also visited a number of the places you mention around his home place including his last studio . Anyway THANK YOU FOR YOUR VERY INTERESTING VIDEO.

Yeah. Quite the scam to kill 550,000 Americans - so far - and left millions with lingering symptoms. Joke’s on the families of the victims.

I was an art teacher for 25 years and I used Paul Cezanne to teach volume for it was him that said "See nature in terms of the cone, the cylinder and the sphere" i was able to learn that you can also talk about the cube and the plane.. which is prevalent in man made objects .. which also exist in art and was discussed by Paul Cezanne, "the father of Modern art.. "

Finally an artist that wasn’t so good at the beginning.
It took him a while but damn he created some masterpieces later in his life

He certainly did produce some great works. Just shows what can be done if you stick at it.

Thank you, I am enjoying your series. Are you planning to cover Singer Sergant and Sickert?
The Cezanne video has the incorrect year of his birth on screen, a typing error I think.
Thanks again looking forward to more videos. 👍🎨🌈😷

Yes, it was a typing error missed by myself and my partner. Actually, Singer Sargent would be an interesting choice.

I dont know if you have ever heard Oculus glasses they are where you can see everything 360. I purchased them on amazon. But when you go to UA-cam with these glasses on you can literally walk into a painting and feel like your in the painting. I wish you would produce video's doing that because the way you tell a story with every little detail is amazing. It would be awesome PLUS you would make MONEY.

Sounds a great idea, not sure my editing software and camera would be capable of 360. I'll have to investigate. Cheers
