    I recall seeing something like this but custom made for finicky smaller animals like goats.
    It had a cover that collected rain water and small gauge wire grid under it to keep dropped hay off the ground.
    Worth its weight in gold !

    Hey Matt, really enjoy your videos. As a first generation farmer myself, and fellow Tennessean, I glean lots of great information from your videos. Keep up the good work. We are getting our first Black Angus preg heifers in a couple of weeks. Really excited!!

      It has seriously cut down on any wasted hay. I would say less than 2% of my hay is lost around the hay ring. It also has helped me save money by forcing the cows to eat all the hay, even the wet or less desirable parts because it stays in the hay ring. It was an extra cost, but just like I stated, it has translated to big savings for me compared my neighbors and friends who feed out of a hay ring without a cone insert. I would definitely recommend this cone insert for savings. It hasn't been to difficult to move, but it is heavier. Thanks for the comment.
