This is what boggles me so much almost every time. The Advent Children story had so much potential too, its just that the way it was told was.... forget it.
!? Sephiroth jumped with Jenova to the mako pit? Do I need to interpret this as another attempt to make Sephiroth look more badass because he can't be defeated by an adrenaline-rushed Cloud? Oh please. For all the people that have never played FF7: what really happened is that Cloud threw Sephy after he stabbed him. Sephiroth was injured but still overconfident of his own abilities and supposed Cetra heritage. He would have expected this last effort from a SOLDIER like Zack, but never from an infantry guy like Cloud. Still the animation is great.
You guys forget that Zack and Sephiroth were friends, Zack didn't fight to kill, he couldn't believe how much Sephiroth changed. On the other hand, Cloud sneaked from behind and stabbed Sephiroth. Of course he was able to beat him, Sephy burned his home town and killed his mother, his hatred was to overwhelming. I don't think it's about Zack vs Cloud, because if you look at it from the outside, Cloud has all of Zack's techniques and has perfected them...Zack never had the chance because he died :) Cheers.
DeAryian Pointer. Nope. Cloud was never ever a first class soldier. Never. He thought he was coz he had only woken up and his memories were blurry, and Zack had changed his Mako soaked clothes into a first class soldier'a uniform he had found in the Shinra Manor. And Zack is stronger than Cloud. He has always been. Cloud was not even part of soldier. He was only a simple infantryman. But becayse of his sword skills, people believed that he was indeed a first class soldier.
Based off facts Cloud is stronger. He wasnt orginally, like you said he only made infantry. But i guess getting soaked in mako and surviving caused him to equal or exceed 1st class powers. I love Zack, i think he was an awesome character and less moody or fucked up in the head than Cloud. But fact remains, Zack could never defeat Sephiroth, cloud has done it twice.
David Martin Well, I wouldn't use that to say he's stronger than Zack. I mean, don't get me wrong, AC Cloud or FF7 end game Cloud is indeed stronger than Zack yes, but Cloud has only beaten Sephiroth in a straight up fight once (maybe twice like you said if you count the battle at the center if the mind thing they did). I mean, Sephiroth has never really given it his all against Cloud alone. Cloud at the very least had 7 people to back him up to fight Sephiroth in FF7. Cloud got a sneak attack bonus, and instead of skewering Cloud when he had the chance, Cloud got pissed and tossed him into Mako (I'm going by the original). In terms of pure skill, Cloud has never bested him...at least that's what I think. Sorry, I know, old comment but...bleh!
Shaiye Gray What?! He never gave his all against Cloud? You call sending a comet across the universe to destroy your opponent not giving it your all? Pfff...
Zack Fair is my favorite video game character of all time, was a fan even before this little short movie came out. Movie made him just right, a laid back badass.
I'm going to try and make this brief: SOMEONE, *cough* Square *cough* Enix *cough* REALLY needs to remake Final Fantasy VII along with Crisis Core, an actual return of Sephiroth (*VII-2!?!?*), and possibly a playable Advent Children, Before Crisis, and an actual good version (if possible) of Dirge of Cerberus (for starters, switch between Vincent, Cloud, Tifa, Yuffie, etc, and have Genesis as an alternate final boss/ending) all in HD like we thought VII would happen at PS3's launch. -They just re-released *Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD* and *Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD,* and compared to their masterpiece FFVII, KH and X are relatively new! Plus, they just made their *third FFXIII* game with Lightning having Cloud's gear. We all know how poorly received XIII was, and I'm not even sure about XIII-2 or Lightning Returns. Let's not even mention X-2. -And by VII remake, I mean incorporate KH/FFXV's awesome Battle System, and maybe add extras like KH: Final Mix has; ie make those caped "remnants" bosses like Kadaj, make the Sapphire Weapon a boss, add ties to the FF/KH universe, etc. -And by VII-2, I mean have Genesis and Sephiroth terrorize the planet again already. Who gives 2 hits and a flying fluck about that wannabe Weiss/Nero? Well, I don't because I'm probably never going to touch that thing. -Why? Why are they still making KH1 spin-offs that are either boring or a rehash of the first game (Chain of Memories,) overly extended (356/2 Days), utterly pointless (Coded,) or include cuddling pink fluffy-flucks to level up (Dream Drop Distance.) Enough procrastinating. Kingdom Hearts 3? Final Fantasy VII HD?? VII-2??? I'm surprised "XV" isn't going to be delayed further: "Final Fantasy XV[XIII-Versus] started production shortly before its announcement in May 2006." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_Fantasy_XV 8 years and no release date, nor do we get the well-received Agito outside of Japan. Someone needs to be fired. I don't want to be 50 years old by the time these happen, or worse, have the developers be dead before then or have video games go extinct. I just beat Crisis Core, and now I want to kick ass as Cloud in HD action God-dammit, and I'm not talking about Dissidia. But maybe that's the reason right there: maybe nobody cares about VII anymore because developers think players either "grew out of them", or are too young to have played them. Maybe the same is true for XV and KH3: those games might be considered "outdated" and forgotten because they were lost in time, and if they ever do come out, they might fall a bit short, like Duke Nukem Forever, and all of those could-be great DBZ games, Playstation All-Stars, and to some extent Smash Bros Brawl. Maybe this is the generation for anyone born in the 80's-90's to give up on those and either stop gaming, or focus on upcoming titles like CoD4: MW4, part 2 section 3 Black Ops Edition, instead of Star Wars Battlefront 3 and Powerstone 3. A part of me could cry. Nah, it's just a game: A game that could have been great.
I find it strange that a big company like Square Enix would struggle with staff count and funds to relaunch Final Fantasy VII. If anything, it should be easier since everything has already been laid out, and thus not as much creativity will be required, whereas much more effort would have to be done for games from scratch, like Kingdom Hearts DDD, 1.5, and Final Fantasy XIII, XIII-2, Lightning Returns, XIV, and now XV. Further, how would they struggle with characters' hair being brunette? They already made characters with lots of hair in recent titles, and I don't see how color would affect it's difficulty much, if at all, especially when they already made brunettes in their games, like Squall, Rinoa, Yuna, Lulu, Sora, Kairi, Xion, Terra, Fang, and Noctis. Perhaps darker hair requires a certain "gleam" to reflect light, etc compared to blonde, but that should not hold them back. I don't think anyone even likes Cait Sith, but it is funny that he is holding the game back once again. I've seen a FFVII for the computer on youtube, but it looked exactly like the original except certain sprites were slightly improved, comparable to the final battle sprite of Cloud when he does Omnislash being more detailed than Cloud's normal sprite.
So it's the color of the hair that's so difficult to manage? I guess now I have a lot more respect for brunettes. Still, we're talking about the remake for VII. I'm sure they know that it would be their number one seller, right next to XV. It wouldn't be for some game rehash; it would be for *THE GAME REHASH.* Let's not forget what games they just released: KH 1.5 & FF X/X-2 HD. They also released rehashes of the early FF titles on the DS, yet there has been none for VII. Too much pressure perhaps? Nah...It should be much easier to make than their recent titles. Their main concern should be for graphics and gameplay alone, because the story, characters, and setting have already been panned out. They need to just get over their hair problems, and knock it out. I like your allusion to the book, though I'd say it's more similar to translating a book from one language to another, or perhaps adding in more details and descriptive scenes, because the story has already been created; it just needs to be updated and re-released. VII-2 would be closer to your example. They did a great job with Crisis Core, although it's gameplay was somewhat repetitive, even though the actual game was relatively short apart from Missions/Quests. Was that made by their current staff, or the ones that went to Capcom? I would be happy enough to see VII treated similarly, though a bit more refined. Besides, ever since VII, Square has always released games with some of the greatest graphics, so, again, it feels like graphics should be no problem. XIII and DC seemed to have both suffered sales because of linear/simple gameplay and possibly poor characters, but were praised for their graphics. In another world, I could see Square Enix merging with Capcom to give us titles like Final Fantasy vs Capcom, and Final Fantasy: T-Virus Apocalypse. Don't you agree? I'm gonna go fry some fish, because now you've made me hungry. Some tender but crispy BBQ Salmon would be nice.
What is their Magnum Opus? I'm terrible at hoping; I have no faith. Hoping has never worked or have done me or anyone any good. I could say I was hoping I might have hope after these comments, but I don't want to disappoint myself further. I'd rather just assume that Final Fantasy VII HD is the game that we deserve, but not the game that we need.
OmegaPyron Sorry for replying 3 weeks later, but firstly to the last line, there is a HD version of FF7 for the pc. (do note that Hd and remade graphics are totally different!!). But the big difference between them doing KD 1.5 and X/X2 is that all they were doing was putting it in HD. FF7, for what you're wanting and everyone else would be wanting, they'd have to redo all the graphics from scratch. Yes they'd have it laid out on what they'd look like and everything, but they'd still have to redo all of it and then animate it. You'd then have to do all the voice acting, I'd assume that wouldn't take THAT long though. The world map would have to change in some way or it just wouldn't fit in a current day design. Is that it?
"Final Fantasy XVI is... released in Japan on December 17, 2017, and March 9, 2018 for North America and Europe - both of these the same as Final Fantasy XIII. A sequel titled Final Fantasy XVI-2 was announced on E3 2018. Further sequels including Final Fantasy XVI-3, Final Fantasy XVI-4, Final Fantasy XVI-5 and Final Fantasy Finis XVI have been released." -finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/User:Coolawits/Final_Fantasy_XVI Now, I'm not sure if this is a joke by "Coolawits" or legitimate news, and if it is legetimate... ARE THEY OUT OF THEIR MIND!?!?! Six different FFXVI games?? It would be a millenium until FFVII was remade, and unless FFXVI-FFXVI-6 >> FFVII in terms of EVERYTHING: . __ ' ? '===O'===' , . _ /\ _/\ _ . , ^ Pyron is not amused
@Gabriel Anderson, that is so true and I say it all the friggin time. Squaresoft was better as Squaresoft, then again that was the Golden Era of RPG's.
Everyone has there favorite, some manner in which they related to it. Most people find VII is the best, I personally love VI. Kefka was a much more sadistic bad guy, and actually accomplished more, while the game had a larger set of characters all with unique background stories tied in somehow. VII is my second fav, followed by IX.
In case some people haven't noticed, When I played crisis core I found out that the only reason he was all emo was because he spent a little too much time in materia which can deprive you of emotions
+iceluvndiva21 Well he believes in a taking his mummy (which, for the record is a manipulative alien parasite living in a jar) to the magical land that will make him a god by crashing a planet sized meteor into the earth.... Naaaaaaaah perfectly sane.
Man I love this special for so many reasons 1 This animation is fucking slick even on 480p youtube video this still looks good 2 Zack being a cocky badass, still couldn't wise crack his way out of a sniper shot tho 3 All that Shrina and turk stuff was dope... 10:56 I never thought I'd see a flip flop in Final Fantasy 4 Tifa is the hottest, her scene with Cloud is so sweet, I put Tifa before Aerith any day... 9:40 did Sephiroth's slash make her breasts grow? 5 Sephiroth is the classic evil momma's boy, man he's sounds so evil you think people would catch onto it. 6 Cloud seems to only care about avenging his village and getting his dick on with Tifa. Which is fair enough 7 Hojo is creepy bastard, Zack doesn't know when to shut the fuck up (I mean Cloud just lost everything) and Sephiroth needs like Aerith needs to watch his back.
Love the fact that they took some of the music from Last Order into Crisis Core, it made me happy :) I'm a sucker for Musical Nostalgia. I'd love an HD remake of the original sometime, maybe along the Action Rpg setting like Crisis core did, I love the freedom you feel with it. But hell, its probably my number 1 since its the first one ive ever played, I love the FFVII universe the most, I hope Square will turn their game around with XIV tho, I miss that Gameplay and Freedom of the oldies
I wonder how many people thought the girl with Rude in the helicopter was Elena and not her older sister Emma (Gun)... Also, since the gameplay of Before Crisis I watched had Freyra (Shotgun) as the main character, it's kind of weird seeing her not give a rat's ass about Zack and Cloud. Although we all know it was Cissinei who let Zack and Cloud go, and this film kind of confirms that the main Turk character is mostly Alvis Crisis (Rod) since he answers to Reno's "new guy."
***** I do, and probably more than you. Final fantasy is a huge franchise, of course there is going to be merchandise, but there's really nothing that would constitute as "milking" it.
Well, I got into the FFVII franchise only 3 years ago, and I have become a huge fan! I would love to buy all of the merchandise and the games! So I do believe that they still can make money from the FFVII franchise, seeing as the some of the newer generations also discovers it! Anyway, have a great day/morning/evening/night!
@Quizerno It contradicts the flashbacks in the game, that may be why. Zack wasn't at Nibelheim, Tifa found her father in the reactor, and Cloud was there when Sephiroth threw Tifa down the stairs. But I agree that this short film is pretty cool anyways.
i dont know why it took me so long to find this. but this is awesome! i was stoked to see the final scene but it just ended.. owell, i saw it on crisis core anyway haha
The writing here is terrible... everything here is terrible... Well that's anime. People can complain about Crisis Core all they want, but at least Sephiroth didn't just up and decide to jump inside the fucking mako reactor after muttering something about the promised land.
If you played the game it would make more sense. The mako reactors plug into the "lifestream" Which is the source of all magic and life force on the planet. Sephiroth jumped(well, ok, in the game he was thrown in, but the end result was the same) in to merge with the lifestream so that he could corrupt the planet and take it over. The black materia gives him control over gravity, so he could use the entire planet as a vessel to travel from planet to planet throughout the cosmos, stealing all of the life energy and becoming a god incarnate. There's a lot more to the story in addition to that, but this is the gist of it.
Ankoku15 I did play the game. Everything gets reabsorbed into the lifestream. That's why it's the lifestream. I think there was a little bit more to his plan than just jumping into the aqua colored goo. If it were really that simple, then Sephiroth's plan still wouldn't work. He would have to contend with all the other "souls" in the lifestream. I don't remember everything well though.
JCDBionicman Ah, well he is a Cetra, remember? They have power over the lifestream and can preserve their consciousness in it like Aerith did. Sephiroth stole Jenova's head to merge with the cells because it gave him enough power to make that plan work. Jenova was the most powerful of the Cetra and it was her plan originally to take over the planet and merge with its life force.
Ankoku15 no, Jenova is not a Cetra, it was an alien that came from a distant planet that brought calamity to the planet, so the ancients/ Cetra battled it and sealed it away until it was discovered by scientists.
***** Cloud experienced it, so he knows, unless he was Mako poisoned and got his memories all messed up again. Hey Cloud, when is FFVII-2 coming out?? At least tell us when FFVII HD is coming out, or when you and Sephiroth are going to appear in Kingdom Hearts 3. I must know. Don't tell me you got it all mixed up again...
You know, you just gotta respect Zack. Can you imagine how much courage it must take to be able to walk into a room knowing that the strongest ShinRa soldier ever is awaiting you who is also out for blood. Not only that but he was the only person who could actually put up a fight against Sephiroth.
She was a teenager back then. This was 5 years before the game if my memory doesn't fail me. In the game Tifa and Cloud were 21 years old so here they were 15-16.
There's a pretty solid english fandub you can find, however they mirrored the video to avoid them getting a copyright strike, so you may have to play a non-mirrored video at the same time and mute it to listen to the english dub properly.
It doesn't cost as much money to just have people translate it than hiring new voice actors for the english one. Its an English sub, like half of Funimation's videos have them
you play as zack in the events leading up to his death in ff7. it also gives so nice background info on how zack obtained the buster blade and the history of jenova
@afoninja121 sephiroth is in teh lifestream after he jumps/gets thrown in by cloud. He controls Jenova's body and the 'clones' from in there and even has Jenova take his shape. He can control Jenova and the 'clones' like cloud because they have jenova cells in them. When kadaj fuses with the remaining jenova bits in AC he forms a body for sephiroth to control once again. Geostigma is caused by jenova cells in the lifestream so im guesing his will is still active in there somewhere.
@1997MonkeyDLuffy the real reason is because of the mako poisoning that Cloud had when he came out of the test tube thing. He took in what ever he could, which is why he barely remembers who he was until he met Tifa, again, then he just meshed the two together.
@TNEsupersayianslayer actually, the mako poisoning (jenova cell poisoning, to be more accurate) from hojo's experimenting in cloud hindered his ability to create new memories coherently for the time being, making him remember himself as zack. zack was fine because he was already infused with pure mako, making him immune because the amount of mako overwhelmed the jenova cells and killing them off. cloud was an infantryman, so he was never exposed to any enhancments. sorry if you already knew
@squirtPandorica It looks that way for a second, but it's just the light shining on his face. If you look at his mouth, he's actually smirking at Cloud.
@mckinght12 Limit breaks are feats performed through anger as denoted at the end fight of part seven as Clouds limit gauge grows just by being in the presence of Sephiroth. It could also be thought of this way because of the effects of Hyper giving the "Fury" status which increases the speed the Limit gauge fills. I.E. Zack being the pissed bad ass he is can use it on the door and then again in fight.
Thought you were referring to Sephiroth in the video. I wondered where '1/3 power' came from! Makes sense now! I'd always just thought of either of those three having the potential to become Sephiroth once they'd attained Jenova's Cells. He seemed just as powerful, he was knocking Cloud around quite a bit. Advent Children didn't make a whole lot of sense anyway, so I wouldn't argue any real point on it.
@lilmissfarah This cuts off right before Zack dies; it doesn't show the part where he fights the army. I'm pretty sure they made this just to make an anime of it; it's non-canon you might say. The events of Crisis Core are accurate, though so go look up the cutscenes!
@AcheKah- ghostgirl777 is correct. cloud was a member of soldier, just a grunt but still infused with mako energy, and later experimented on by hojo. in short, cloud while lacking self confidence has immense inner strength, and also the stab was a mere gut stab on the side not directly through, with medical attention he would have lived. and at the time (if you've every been stabbed you would know) the adrenaline rushes and you cant feel it, alos giving you strength to fight or flee
@Cornbrosia It's a mistake on the creators part, however there is still a legitimate reason for the events to be incorrect. L.O. is more or less from Tseng's viewpoint, and the discrepencies can be attributed to that fact. Tseng is reading documents about the Nibelheim incident, and the documents are presumably eye-witness accounts from the Turk that was there. Because no one actually saw EVERYTHING that happened in the reactor, the documents differ at some points from what really occured.
@ElliotCArcher No, the Jenova cells merged his memories with Zack's persona. He didn't have a bad mood, really, he was just "to himself". In the sense to his behavior, I would say he was very neutral, more than anything. The KH series and AC made him seem out of character for me, he was never that "down" on himself to me in VII. (Mind you, I played VII when I was 9, and I'm 20 now.)
@Jeff1N She remembers. The ShinRa planted a Nibelheim with employees so everyone there denies that there was an incident. Cloud and Tifa reveal a lot of this incident in the lifestream.
@AcheKah Look at his eyes in Crisis Core. They're already the Mako blue of someone infused with Mako. It suggests that maybe Cloud almost made it into SOLDIER but something made it impossible.
Okay, someone clear something up for me. The timeline in this show go like this: The village burns. Zack goes after Sephiroth. Cloud comes in to finish the job. Both Zack and Cloud are put into the mako tanks. Zack breaks them out 5 years later (I think 5 years). And the starting of the show is with Zack and trance state Cloud escaping the village.
In the regular ff7, there's a secret cutscene that show's some parts with zack that don't add up with Last Order. Also stuff like sephiroth doesn't jump in the mako, he gets thrown into it by cloud. Another is Tifa's dad was killed where cloud killed sephiroth, not outside of the mako reactor. Just stuff like that I would assume.
@Kuzakuroth if you watched the ending of crisis core (after the credits) there is a small vid. there u can see Aerith with her flowers in sector 8 and after you see cloud jumping on a train (just like zack did on the intro movie of crisis core). then cloud will tell that he is soldier 1ste class.
This just brought back memories of playing Crisis Core. I didn't even know this existed. XD Sephiroth is still, and will always be, the greatest antagonist ever. ^_^
@COMMcody10 I knew there was something flaws in the movie even I was wrong. But I can name only one for sure: BUSTER SWORD. If I`m not wrong, that part was in Crisis Core. And during the whole game, it have yellow part, not gray (like in original game). But even greater mistake than that, it is DOUBLE-EDGED? We all now, that Buster Sword have only one edge, not two. And did Sephiroth really cut the head of her mother, and leave his ONLY sword in CLOUD`S CHEST? I knew he is crazy but... o.O
@lilmissfarah They do not show that Zack dies on the truck, actually he gets of the truck and Cloud wakes up and sees him walking away. After that Zack sees all the soldiers and dies in a heroic way. Yes cloud was there at the reactor but he wasn´t the first class soldier who he thought he was.
The ending was perfectly dead on simply because it cuts to a black screen only allowing the viewer to reminisce the scene where he's shot down by the three who leave him for dead. In Final Fantasy VII he leaves Cloud. You can't see the fight, but you can hear it. Then he comes back to check up on him before get popped from afar. They unload several rounds in him when he's down. In Crisis Core he fights a battalion alone until he can't anymore. And of course 3 soldiers give the final blow.
The events line up with Before Crisis (Turks' perspective of events prior to FF7). Before Crisis and Crisis Core conflict several times, but Before Crisis answers more questions than what arise from playing/watching it played on youtube. Tifa's dad takes her to Midgar afterwards. Character in Before Crisis protects cloud and zack from monsters until Hojo arrives to do experimiments on them and take the survivors of nibelheim to perform experiments on them, like with the survivors of Kalm
The Outcome of the First Battle within Cloud and Sephiroth was Retconed, In Crisis Core: FFVII the events take place in a similar fashion as they do here. Also in FFVII:Advent Children Complete, Sephiroth makes a references to cloud being stabbed like that "again" The original game did not have the graphic quality to pull this scene off, same like what happened when the Buster Sword design was retconed in Crisis Core
@shadowforce41 Nononono. FF VII-2 Is a Segual or something called DLC Since it takes place after Dirge of Cerberus Advent children and the normal FFVII.
Seeing this for the second time and having played FFVII,FFVII:Crisis Core and Dirge of Cerberus, I wonder if the people shown from 1:58 to 2:05 are actually from the series that i don't recognise or just some random people they made up to fill in time.
@PattehPatrick Cloud thought he was Zack (or that Zack's experiences were his own) for most of FF7. After all that ( which is resolved when he gets the record set straight by working things out within his own mind in the Lifestream with Tifa's help), we see that he remembers and honors Zack, particularly in Advent Children. Zack's death is sad in that he was such a genuinely good guy that was brought down for doing the right thing, while being caught up in bad circumstances with corrupt people.
@lilmissfarah those were the turks from Before Crisis. It was a phone game that showed the events before ff7. I came out before Crisis Core and only in Japan
@GCube45 Now to support what I've said, there are only two iterations in the collection wherein Sephiroth threw himself into the lifestream. That is in "Final Fantasy VII: Before Crisis" and "Last Order", both of which have turks present in the Nibelheim incident, although there was none in the original game... In both cases there was a turk who witnessed what happened, of which there are again two different viewing. That is direct and indirectly, with respect to what I've said earlier...
:( i wish i knew... cissnei was an amazing character, especially to Zack in the video game. it would be nice to know where she could possibly fit in this animated short
@ricorero77 Well in this Sephiroth willing leaps into the lifestream even though in the game he is thrown in. Also Tifa wakes up and talks to Cloud even though it was very important to the original that she didn't know he was there.
The Denzel Anime is based from On the Way to a Smile. But overall thanks! Now, would you be so kind of telling me where the hell do these things come on the Chronology?
@jewwroast actually if you payed attention when you first met cloud in crisis core it calls him a shinra infantryman who was later experimented on by hojo giving him mako addiction, the enhancement, and the mako infused eyes
@PattehPatrick During the earlier events of FF7, sure, he was not consciously aware that some of his memories were in fact a guy he knew and worked with, Zack's. However, after the events in the Lifestream, he remembered everything correctly, which includes Zack. It wasn't that Cloud took the legacy too far, it was that Cloud wasn't consciously aware of the truth, thanks largely to the Jenova cells in him screwing with his head. Which is later corrected, and then he remembers.
emo is short for emotional, so how is it that he's emotional yet deprived of emotions? I'm assuming you're talking about cloud, who got mako poisoning. His personality was much more interesting in the original game, even though he got mako poisoned twice in the game.
@QaDri93 Yea this is true (If everything had to follow real world boundaries, then yea the Cloud that existed before Zack died wouldn't be at all a challenge for Zack) But when people say "Zack vs Cloud, who is better?" I do not believe they mean the Cloud before Zack died. I assume they mean a fight between them both in their prime states.
@SmallvilleSoraKent that would be pretty cool, except for the fact that there isnt that much that they can make an OVA about. it would be epic, but a bit wierd at the same time
@LunaticCalm Jenova cells enabled him to draw the memories from him, Tifa, Aeris, etc. Thing is, in the Lifestream, Cloud worked things out and overcame the influence of Jenova and his true self became manifest. Well, Jenova Reunion is a pretty interesting idea, but not really so freaky or foreign in principle from some psychological theories out there. Pretty much what they were doing in Xenogears as well to boot, 'course in that, it made human existence there seem slightly more bleak. =D
@suddnstar Sephiroth was a SOLDIER, not just any SOLDIER. He was infused with Jenova's DNA and exposed to high amounts of mako, and by the time of the stab, was pretty much the baddest mother alive. Cloud's not only been exposed to routine SOLDIER Mako, he recovered from an intense Mako poisoning, and my guess is that what didn't kill him made him stronger. Aerith lived as an ordinary citizen. She ran instead of fought, up until Cloud came.
At first I thought the title was talking about Cloud's last day working at the fast food restaurant....but then I remembered, that was from Robot Chicken.
@addy5125 What happened was that shinra troops found zack and cloud before the turks. Zack jumps in to save Cloud. Search for Crisis Core Zack's Death and watch the whole scene. It explains the outcome.
@Kuzakuroth He's a success actually. (since the point of the clones was to be controlled by sephiroth without degenerating like the black robed ones you find all over the place)
I think it was just to show that Cloud had some dormant, hidden power of his own before all the mako infusions that happened later. There was something inside him that made him able to somehow overcome Sephiroth, which should have been impossible for him.
@GCube45 With regards to Sephiroth being thrown into the life stream, go and watch it again and you'll see a turk member just after that scene listening behind as the events unfold... Now since her back was turned she did not see any of the actual events, now believing that Sephiroth couldn't possibly be defeated by Cloud she assumed that Sephiroth threw himself into the life stream and that's what she reported... Although we all know that is not what happens.
@Bionicspider777 he "lost his memory". in ff7 untill the action in middle he thought, that he was on zacks place and that's how he tells his story to everyone. but suddenly he recovered his memory and realised, that he was the one behind zack and sephiroth.
they should make a final fantasy 7 long ongoing anime, starting from crisis core to ff7 ending. I see so much potential!
and Final Fantasy VII: Dirge Of Cerberus
wingscancer have every one back story in there
yeah!
This is what boggles me so much almost every time. The Advent Children story had so much potential too, its just that the way it was told was.... forget it.
TheAlijanify
fuckyou
Zack is/was so amazing. I knew he looked after Cloud, but wow. He's like the perfect big brother.
In addition to Cloud already being a badass, this movie made that fact even more evident, but also Zack was hardcore too! Thanks for the upload man.
I don't think it's about Zack vs Cloud, because if you look at it from the outside, Cloud has all of Zack's techniques and has perfected them...Zack never had the chance because he died :) Cheers.
i want more this ep!
Cloud must've found a sneak attack materia
Shaiye Gray
What?! He never gave his all against Cloud? You call sending a comet across the universe to destroy your opponent not giving it your all? Pfff...
***** I'm talking about one on one fights. And I'm sure he didn't send that meteor JUST for Cloud.
Jenova Cells, that's why Cloud is strong!
One minute into this and already I wish I could like this a thousand times.
Zack Fair is my favorite video game character of all time, was a fan even before this little short movie came out. Movie made him just right, a laid back badass.

1:31 Conflict Resolved XD
VII-2??? I'm surprised "XV" isn't going to be delayed further:
"Final Fantasy XV[XIII-Versus] started production shortly before its announcement in May 2006." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_Fantasy_XV
8 years and no release date, nor do we get the well-received Agito outside of Japan.
Further sequels including Final Fantasy XVI-3, Final Fantasy XVI-4, Final Fantasy XVI-5 and Final Fantasy Finis XVI have been released."
-finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/User:Coolawits/Final_Fantasy_XVI
Now, I'm not sure if this is a joke by "Coolawits" or legitimate news, and if it is legetimate...
ARE THEY OUT OF THEIR MIND!?!?!
Six different FFXVI games?? It would be a millenium until FFVII was remade, and unless FFXVI-FFXVI-6 >> FFVII in terms of EVERYTHING:

Pyron is not amused
Anyone else thinks sephy needs a head check?
sephy? suddenly he seems much less threatening
no - its zack need it
+iceluvndiva21 Well he believes in a taking his mummy (which, for the record is a manipulative alien parasite living in a jar) to the magical land that will make him a god by crashing a planet sized meteor into the earth.... Naaaaaaaah perfectly sane.
Are the SOLDIER pants really leather?
Did he cut three dudes into oblivion?
Man I love this special for so many reasons
1 This animation is fucking slick even on 480p youtube video this still looks good
2 Zack being a cocky badass, still couldn't wise crack his way out of a sniper shot tho
3 All that Shrina and turk stuff was dope... 10:56 I never thought I'd see a flip flop in Final Fantasy
4 Tifa is the hottest, her scene with Cloud is so sweet, I put Tifa before Aerith any day... 9:40 did Sephiroth's slash make her breasts grow?
5 Sephiroth is the classic evil momma's boy, man he's sounds so evil you think people would catch onto it.
6 Cloud seems to only care about avenging his village and getting his dick on with Tifa. Which is fair enough
7 Hojo is creepy bastard, Zack doesn't know when to shut the fuck up (I mean Cloud just lost everything) and Sephiroth needs like Aerith needs to watch his back.
4.If Tifa got hurt, will you be happy to see her show up with scar or deformity handicapped?
Happy? No way. but even if she was scarred or handicapped she still be the hottest.
Tifa > Aeris *everyday*
Mate EVERYONE knows that JENOVA is the hottest babe in ff7.
To bad it's not in English I like Cloud, Zack and Sephiroth's voice in English
no
+Christian Harris piss off, sub nazi
+FilthyCasualkai lol what's wrong with you
Zack is such a badass!
no he is just stupid bitch
Eriksigal Raven
In Soviet Russia, Bitch is you!
I want an open-world Version 2015 for ps4. But I think the cash-cow ff7 is finally dead. 😢
Far from it. Still making money.
Cash cow? Lol, none of the entries in the Compilation of VII have been cash grabs, and even Dirge wasn't supposed to a FFVII game in the first place.
Ankoku15
I did play the game.
@squirtPandorica
It looks that way for a second, but it's just the light shining on his face.
@AzumangaFan13 The song that he sings in is called ray of hope
@AcheKah-
ghostgirl777 is correct. cloud was a member of soldier, just a grunt but still infused with mako energy, and later experimented on by hojo. in short, cloud while lacking self confidence has immense inner strength, and also the stab was a mere gut stab on the side not directly through, with medical attention he would have lived. and at the time (if you've every been stabbed you would know) the adrenaline rushes and you cant feel it, alos giving you strength to fight or flee
@Cornbrosia
It's a mistake on the creators part, however there is still a legitimate reason for the events to be incorrect. L.O. is more or less from Tseng's viewpoint, and the discrepencies can be attributed to that fact.
There should be a series, or at least several movies, this is pretty awesome.
@liqueriish it is before FF7 and Advent Children, Its halfway in Crisis Core
@Jeff1N She remembers. The ShinRa planted a Nibelheim with employees so everyone there denies that there was an incident. Cloud and Tifa reveal a lot of this incident in the lifestream.
@AcheKah
Look at his eyes in Crisis Core. They're already the Mako blue of someone infused with Mako. It suggests that maybe Cloud almost made it into SOLDIER but something made it impossible.
Okay, someone clear something up for me. The timeline in this show go like this:
The village burns.
It leads onto the events that you see in crisis core i do believe ( but i wont spoil it )
@Kuzakuroth
if you watched the ending of crisis core (after the credits) there is a small vid.
there u can see Aerith with her flowers in sector 8 and after you see cloud jumping on a train (just like zack did on the intro movie of crisis core). then cloud will tell that he is soldier 1ste class.
*tears* I love Zack and Cloud, their friendship, their loyalty, their courage... heroes to the very end!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why is it that there is no English dub, but any text (e.g. the text displayed on the screen at 05:55) is in English?
@penguinxxxx no Vincent loved lucrecia but was experimented on by hojo leading to sephiroth
I never noticed they used music from this in Crisis Core. Pretty sweet.
***** Crisis Core was released in Japan September 13th, 2007. Last order was released September 14th, 2005.
I stand uncorrected.
***** Everyone makes mistakes, no worries.
The Outcome of the First Battle within Cloud and Sephiroth was Retconed, In Crisis Core: FFVII the events take place in a similar fashion as they do here. Also in FFVII:Advent Children Complete, Sephiroth makes a references to cloud being stabbed like that "again"
The original game did not have the graphic quality to pull this scene off, same like what happened when the Buster Sword design was retconed in Crisis Core
@Heartlesswithaheart FFVII-2 Is already released in Japan.
I like that the music is slightly based on Crisis Core battle music.
In the game the photo shown at 7:50 is with Cloud not Zack...doesn't really sync up.
Madhouse Studio did the animation for this OVA, a very successful japanese anime studio.
WOOO!! I JUST LOVE WATCHING ZACK FIGHTING! AMAZING! I FEEL AMPED UP
The Denzel Anime is based from On the Way to a Smile.
Crisis core and last order music were both made by the same guy
@D00M696
The ending won't change at all b'c it is a part of the story. I found out 7 years ago when I played Final Fantasy VII.
Wow, the scenes look almost exactly like Crisis Core, and the same music! =D
aww ur loved by me for this lil film!
It never shows him being shot. You can assume that the sniper missed if it bothers you.
@franillusion well, Zack is alive in this, so if he's alive in any of those, its before it.
I'm Swedish.
Haven't you played The Last Of Us?
It convey emotions and words pretty good according to the whole world.
@SmallvilleSoraKent
that would be pretty cool, except for the fact that there isnt that much that they can make an OVA about. it would be epic, but a bit wierd at the same time
I've watching this a lot, I'm still love it. I love Final Fantasy.
Zack was the Hero :)
wow! a tribute! i haven't passed thr game 'cause i got stuck in the jungle tempe thingy
Totally agree. He is such a great character, and his development is awesome!
@addy5125 What happened was that shinra troops found zack and cloud before the turks. Zack jumps in to save Cloud.
Search for Crisis Core Zack's Death and watch the whole scene. It explains the outcome.
@Antsaboy94 the buster sword is always changing shape and colour dont know why its kinda stupid but just go along with it
@Kuzakuroth He's a success actually. (since the point of the clones was to be controlled by sephiroth without degenerating like the black robed ones you find all over the place)
@Zenmasa Well, yeah, because that's after the fact, not during VII itself.
@Bionicspider777
he "lost his memory". in ff7 untill the action in middle he thought, that he was on zacks place and that's how he tells his story to everyone. but suddenly he recovered his memory and realised, that he was the one behind zack and sephiroth.
@DNFinalFantasy It's supposed to continue into the ending of Crisis Core
its cause of his huge guns for arm or the fact that his kinda has there super power dna in him
