I love the almond flour pancakes..To get rid of the grainy texture sift the almond flour. I always keep a container of sifted almond flour available at all times.. When ever I’m baking with almond flour sifting is the key😋 Give it a try I think you will love the results😋
I made almond flour pancakes for the 1st time an they were gritty. They tasted good. I made them again today but put them in my food processor. They were awesome without any grittiness.
Hi! Thank you for taking the time and energy to put together this video. I have been keto for a little over a month now and it has been more of trial and error. But every day I get better and still been getting results because I refuse to give up. Anywho, I have been making Almond pancakes and have been very happy with the results. Today I decided to try making pancakes with the coconut flour and not really that happy with them for the same reasons you stated. I started to second guess myself and then I found this video. 😁 I am grateful to you. This video allowed me to see that it wasn't just me being that you communicated my thoughts almost verbatim. When they started crumbling I was like oh wow what did I do wrong? Especially considering I followed an online recipe as with the almond pancakes. Again, thank you! & Keep shining Queen!
Oh my gosh thank you so much! I truly appreciate your feedback! and yes, with the keto diet you really gotta just keep experimenting in finding what you like best. Keep it up! Im so glad you enjoyed my video 😁
Thank you for simple recipes that isn’t chock full of eggs. I have been looking for a low carb pancake that doesn’t spike my sugar. I am going to try the almond flour this week.
I hope this helps someone out there. I prefer the coconut pancakes, but they are a little more crumbly. HOWEVER, if you add 5-10g of psyllium husks to the coconut pancake batter, it holds them together well. Anyone on Keto will have this in their keto cupboard. PLUS you're adding extra fibre with no extra carbs and negligible calories. This makes the coconut pancakes the best of the 2. I LOVE watching real people doing these recipes. The reactions are usually more honest and genuine. Try them with some whipped cream between the layered pancakes. WOW (and it gets your good fats up if you're on keto). Both are good though. So go with the easiest for you. X
@@ukelilly Not sure what that is. But if it's similar to what we call fibogel, then I don't think it will be. It's very easy to find on Amazon or in health food stores though.
I tried your recipe at 50% without sugar. Recipe came out great! I used a (Red) Chefman Anti-Overflow Belgian Waffle Maker. A bit surprised by the texture of the almond flour but overall I look forward to using it more often. Thank you for your post, hope to explore your other recipes;)
I just made almond flour pancakes and they were really good. I agree with everything you said about them. Next time I will try sifting the almond flour like someone said. Thanks!
thanks naomi, i havent had a pancake in months, and have been looking into this keto style of eating, after lossing 72.5lbs, i bought both flours and all ingredients, but i wanted to know from the people, which flour was the best to go with for a pancake, and i was leaning towards almond, im glad you said almond, i think friday afternoon i am making these for my second and last meal of the day it should be a fun dinner, thanks. i can't wait to have a pancake, i bought monkfruit syrup and monkfruit chocalate chip morsels, sugar free of course.
Try adding 5g of psyllium husks to the coconut flour batter. It makes them hold up really well, and makes them better (and easier to make) than the almond flour pancakes. PLUS you're greatly improving on the fibre and the macros are better for keto. Hope this helps.
Absolutely perfect video, Noemi. A class act. You make me proud. Making coconut pancakes now. 👍 I use a standard mix with shredded coconut, and a pure honey syrup. I also use almond milk. Fluffs very well.
I bought almond flour blanched from costco & it was more of a hassle than the one i got from target (Simple Mills Gluten Free Pancake & Waffle Almond Flour Mix). I guess I should’ve watched this first as they are supposed to take longer to cook & be fluffy as i prefer faster & flatter 😅
Thank you for sharing this comparison, I would like to try both of them and see which one I like most, let’s support our passion for cooking, here is my full support ✅ thanks 🙏 also
Oh interesting, I've never had oat flour before. Im sure it could be done, perhaps use baking powder AND baking soda? Let me know if you do try it out 😊
Spoiler alert if you're in a big hurry, almond flour Burns too quickly don't mess with it. Coconut flour is the way to go. There I saved everyone 10 minutes. Now use that 10 minutes wisely. Call your mom or dad, pet your dog or cat
@@ajyoung9089 oh brown sugar thats sounds good too. Im glad they turned out good. Which ones do you like better, almond flour or coconut flour pancakes?
@@NoemiCooksTells yea adding brown sugar and adding baking soda AND baking powder will make them come out better. Almond flour is known to be. Better for bread types of baking like cookies and cakes so PANCAKES would fit in that group. I used almond flour because of this
I don't like that the texture is very crumbly 🤧 I really miss using regular flour😰 Thank you so much for the comparison! I will definitely try out the almond flour; only that it's more expensive 🙆🏽♀️ #KetoDiet #CoconutFlour
Hi Oby. Add 5g of psyllium husk to the coconut flour mixture. It stops them crumbling, is tasteless, adds extra fibre and (as you say) the coconut flour is cheaper. It's also better on keto, for the macros. Hope this helps.
I made a coconut bread... meh, really bland and once it's in your mouth the texture is similar to mashed potatoes. But I can't have almonds so it's better than nothing.
as a kid i took real pan cakes and syrup for granted . now its too late. i eat one and i will pay the price im 46 n predaibetic take that for granted too
