This helped. I was able to use it to wipe a phone with a broken screen, wouldn't have otherwise been able to see what mode it was in other then being able to count down and up key presses.

Your way didn't remove AT&T from my phone but another video said to enter recovery mode with the phone off by pressing power and volume down simultaneously and that method removes AT&T. It kinda makes sense that once the power is on AT&T is embedded in your system and won't allow you to remove it. Follow these steps in video but begin with the phone off, not on.

U need to contact the person u bought phone from and tell them u need their gmail account and password that they linked on the phone in order for u to use the phone. Or u can bring to mobile repair shop.
