My GF left her old phone bc she doesnt need it, i want to start it but wont be able to unless i ask her for her PIN, and she will think im a creep for doing that x) i guess ill have to throw away this working phone (with a small crack on the screen) away

You don't need a sim in order to use it as a wifi device. Double check your wifi connection to your wifi router. Suggestions: 1) make sure you are using your correct wifi password. 2) you might need to power off your wifi router/modem and power it back on. Or check with your internet provider. Then try connecting your phone to your wifi again.

I did this one time before after watching your video and It worked perfectly. My phone died and got stuck in the loop again. I tried to do it for a second time and this time it doesn't work☹. After the no-command screen it reboots into the loop when I press the volume up and power button.
That happened to me too. You might be pressing the wrongs buttons, pressing them for to LONG and/or to SHORT/Quickly a time, to slow, to fast or in the wrong order (make sure you are pressing the Up volume button and not the Down volume button). Also you might have a button/s not working at all (broken button) or the phone is just broken and no longer works. Try removing the battery if it's removable or try power button and power it off. Suggest watching my video and trying it again.

A hard factory reset will not delete, or remove or bypass the owners or previous owners Google account (email) from phone. Google accounts (email) and Android phones are tied together and tracked through Google. This is for security to help prevent phone theft. You either have to log in using a known Google username and password or PIN previously set up on the device by you or previous owner (contact previous owner) or contact Google directly and get the Google account sorted out.
