It's a sanity restoration sound, actually. Drinking the unused sanity potions makes the same sound. It's pitched down slightly in this mod.

Aperture canonically worked with the combine and gave them some of their technology and that's why combine hasn't raided Aperture yet

Timbles: Why there HEV Suit in Aperture Science?
Me: Maybe the Combine took it before Gordon could get to it
In Portal 2: Lab Rat Aperture have a gravity gun and HEV suit which suggests those were some of the products Black Mesa stole from them.
@@AstroTom Those were confirmed to just be easter eggs and not canon.
@@Gulliblepikmin The alleged e-mail that some non-Valve guy allegedly got from Laidlaw never said that. All it said was "They put some stuff in there as a tribute to HL but I wouldn't sweat it too much. Black Mesa had them first because we made Half-Life first." He doesn't say whether Aperture had that stuff or not, all he says is that Black Mesa had it FIRST. Also note that Laidlaw was only one of many writers, Ted Kosmatka having done the majority of the writing.

That scene in Lab Rat takes place before the combine invaded earth.
If that's not canon, then the gravity gun and Black Mesa chargers also probably aren't canon too.

14:33 de_dust3 DOES exist officially and it was being made by the same guy who made 1 and 2, but its extremely unfinished and is basically just a block-out style map with some basic stacked car baricade and a giant empty river for some reason

Also, highly recommending "Half-Life: Haphazard", it's randomizer (again), but less chaotic than Glitch-Life and still fun to play

in the portal comic lab rat on pg 14 you can see a hev charger and gravity gun along with the hl1 health charger and hl2 health charger. the combine might have taken aperture technology. witch also explains why the combine plasma balls are exactly the same as the plasma balls in portal.
plasma balls were probably just valve reusing half life 2 effects, but yeah that theory of combine stealing aperture technology is valid.
It was confirmed that those details were just easter eggs and not canon.
i highly recommend to check out the new half life 2 through the city is only demo but still worth it
