This has to be one of the best interviews I've heard. Thom sounds so relaxed.

One of my favorite interactions featuring thom yorke. They seem to be genuinely enjoying shooting the shit with each other

love this interview. thom's politics reaffirm why i love radiohead as much as i do. i love when marc maron talks about how their music sets a tone that the world is in shambles and we really need to act.

+Danielle Albert what?? So guys throwing wood at the cops, the cops thus have horses= bad. But guys having jackhammers under a dress destroying roadways =good?? Screw that.
The artistic left can be as fascist as they want. But having a discussion about how rich people avoid taxes (making it [erroneously] impossible for poor people to work for success in a free market) is NOT a valid argument for the disassembly of a free market. The government can make moves to enforce taxes. Radiohead didn't get a record contract under the motivations of a communal environment (thereafter allowing them the platform to eventually enjoy stuff like California). So, in that sense, fuck the hypocrite that is Thom Yorke who makes great music that I am a fan of... all of which exists (the technology to make it, to make the machines that make it, to press it and to sell it) under the cultural motivations and laws of a free market. People do shit for themselves, including Thom. This fact is the end of much of Thom's politics.

+finalmattasy Fuck are you on, those protests were about poll taxes which working families couldn't afford, all while Britain maintained tax havens for wealthy people on jersey, the island of man, cayman and virgin islands, cops breaking legs of pregnant women... nobody is talking about "communal environments"... fucking jackass

+Liz R What you wrote is unfortunately typical, you're insulting me, writing me off; verbally excluding the slightest possibility that anything i said makes any sense. (which if you exercise your imagination to see it being said from someone who holds an opinion similar to mine, towards someone with an opinion similar to yours, you could see it for what it is: utterly bigoted).
What I meant by "communal environment" is an economic structure where rich people don't have the ability to use their success to become more successful. I didn't, and don't understand the specifics of the politics that Thom was marching for. I was reacting to his description of what happened in the march(es) and his skewed opinion of the violence shown on both sides.
The market that Thom hates (and in this interview advocates the practise of violence towards) is the market that Thom became successful in.. by taking advantage of past successes.. allowing him to make millions.. as [some] other musicians starve.
Thom's description of the march that he was at, despite the presence of a pregnant woman, is one in which the protesters became violent FIRST. Of course he could have lied about that and just said the cops ran them first, but thankfully he didn't. The moral lesson of that story is really- if you're pregnant, don't go to rally where people are throwing things at cops!! If you're at one, LEAVE.
The other story Thom has is of people he agrees with destroying roadways. Then he laughs at the apparent idiocy of the cops for not knowing how the protesters were wrecking the concrete that EVERYBODY walks drives busses and bikes on. The hypocrisy of "cops are dumb, lets laugh" when at the same time the cops are the reason Thom has a nice house that doesn't get robbed; this is what's truly funny, and disappointing.
So there. Thanks for writing me off I guess? You're not nice.

doop toopy or keep worshiping the dude who is clearly filled with self hatred for his own massive globetrotting carbon intensive lifestyle and wealth. Hint: being a musical genius doesn't mean your intelligence magically transcends to all domains of life.
