I think you should solo play all games, like I solo myself on a Saturday night, when no one is home.
That was one of the best solo board game plays I saw on UA-cam. I was invested the whole game thanks to your soothing voice. Hope you do more of these, great stuff man.

So, down here Perth WA. It's apparently out of print. Can't find it anywhere.
I have the Games Workshop Edition where you have only 26 turns on the sun dial track, the revised has the extra 4 spaces on the sun dial track. The Search rule is you can search up to two consecutive turns before you have to move and if you return to the same room the search is reset again, so you could have had another search in the dead ends. Though failing twice is rather costly, so do you push your luck.

as a side note, determination tokens cannot be kept. once the test has been passed or given up on all unused tokens are discarded. :)

Corrections: Krut also gains a determination token each time he Defeats a monster, you didn't collect the determinations each time, which would remove enough of that last 6 point roll to Win.

Same game yeah, but they did make changes. I think combat is different than the original RPS type ( rock-paper-scissor pretty much.)

OMG! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time after you got out of the treasure room. All that distance, just to get murdered at the exit! The tragedy!!!!!! Super great job though. Also, your voice is reminiscent of Bob Ross. :D

You should move the time tracker when searching. You get one action per turn which is either move, search or enter the catacombs. I’ve seen a couple illegal turns this way. You can also gain determination tokens when you fail to hit the ferrox since you are failing a strength test.
I have the original game plus all the extra box sets, Heroes for D. quest and if my brain works the catacombs add on.. Somewhere in the huge pile of games.... Awesome game great fun to play especially with a few beers and good friends to take the piss.............Hang on' for friends across the pond to 'Rip on..........' have I got that right ??
This game is ripe for adding house rules to make it more interesting (basically need to minimize the luck factor) - adding different Monster/potion/treasure cards from other games, adding addition corridor or creating your own tiles to decrease the likelihood of finding trap cards, randomizing and hiding the dragon lair (Treasure Chamber) location on the far side of the board from where you start (you need to find it using the addition corridor tiles which come into play for this) - what I really like about this game is that you create the dungeon as you play without using excessive table space - this adds a different playing experience every time you play which TSR’s Dungeon! lacks - the trick is to keep as much information as possible unknown to the player(s) and as they play the game they uncover or find treasure/potions, etc. that help them defeat the dragon/win the game. Of course after doing this you are no longer playing DungeonQuest but are using the game materials/mechanics for a far more interesting/advanced game.
Agree. I like “luck factor” to a degree because it keeps thing unpredictable. And even an expert in something may falter in real life due to something unexpected occurring. But this game is 100% luck. No decision to be made. You can’t be good nor bad at the game.
But it is simple and interesting. Simple enough to get my young children interested in these type of games.
How did you make the "defeat the dragon" mechanic? That sounds a lot cooler than just running off with loot
Sweet Jesus your voice is soothing and along with that background music, I dont care how stressful of a dungeon this is. I'm ready to just lay down in the corridor curl up in a ball and fall asleep with a big smile on my face.

Hey man i just got the game and im playing it now and ive encountered a door. I was hoping for a bit of clarity here, can I walk into a room with a door and then draw a door card attempting to open it, or does walking in that room end my turn? I'm not sure if opening a door counts as an action sorry if its a noob question aha.
No problem! You would draw from the dungeon deck, end your turn (move the time tracker), and THEN draw a door card. So yes, drawing a door card would occur at the start of your next turn. :)

I tried to explain to some people before, that the joy of this sort of game, is to relish dying. If the dungeon kills everyone, that's just fine. Multiple times, I walked into a 180 degree rotating room and got trapped against the outside all, and you can't explore to escape. I have been known ( original version) to just run in grab the first treasure, and to escape. Just to set a benchmark :) I have a newer version, maybe this one, but have not played it in spite of having it for years. The new version is better quality bits IMO. Original version was from that company in england? Just my opinion, but the music is a little too loud in comparison to your voice, it was a bit hard to hear.
Cool game and vid. One handing it is a little sloppy and awkward on the eye. At least it’s on landscape position. Does the bag really need to be shaken if you never looked in it?
Guerrilla film making! I found a lot of the over head videos already out there to be a lot less intimate. As for the bag shaking, that’s just for theatrics. Thanks for watching!
I dont bother using the Dragon Deck, instead I use a D8. Whenever a natural '1' is rolled, the Dragon awakes

Thank you for this video and the solo play. I own the original GW edition that is maybe even a little bit deadlier than the revised version. Nonetheless, I'd like to buy this edition and the third edition too, if only for completeness sake.

They are Fantasy Flights sleeves. The back of the box will specify which ones to buy and how many packs of each you will need.👍🏻
Hi ive just recieved my dungeonquest revised i have looked on the back and it just shows a number 5 and a color as iam color blind is it a yellow or a green please also on ebay they sell ffg sleves and the packs are color coded do i just pick the color stated on box thanks

I love this game. I painted my minis as well. I also created new characters for it with minis. I also have a crown royal bag for my stuff. Ha.😌💜
Creating new characters is a great idea!
I own three different versions of this game old to new. I looked at all the different characters and abilities and tried to balance them out in different ways for other character concepts. And I bought some minis and painted them.😌
It's good for solo play.

@@glowingturtle9673 FFG no longer have the rights to it, and I talked to the people who do own the rights over in Sweden, and they have no plans to release a new Swedish version, or to let anyone else have the rights to it for the foreseeable future, which is a shame, as my copy got swiped with a few other games a couple of years back, so I'd love a reprint.

What a crap game, lol, people will buy any aule shite if it looks nice, has a few plastic dolls and is fantasy. I had the original and this one, I'm one of those people, I've since sold them both and avoid these types of Ameritrash shite (I know original is from UK). Boardgames are fucked thanks to American ethos, like most things and prices are beyond belief for same reason.
