      T B if only my brown community started doing the same 😭 I was one of the first to actually start going my hair curly and I know of a few others but so many of the women I know still straighten their hair. I’m Egyptian btw.

      IKR! A good setting lotion, some rods and bam awesome hair! More and more woman are embracing their curls thank the good lord. I god what I call sad white girl hair lmfao 😂🤣 It’s super fine so it looks thin when straight and yet..it is straight as a stick. I would die for ethnic hair! It is absolutely beautiful, strong and can be effortless. One wet set a week is all u need and a good scalp treatment monthly.

    Trust me girl, you are not rambling..., YOU ARE SPEAKING THE TRUTH. I know this an old video, but I came to YT to see what kind of perm rods sets would be pretty much easy to do and yours seems to be the easiest. I've seen videos where they would do the perm rod on the root and try to lay the end of the hair to the rod. I could never get that. I love your's, which is simple. All you do is put the rod on the end and roll it to the root, which is so...., DUUUH, SIMPLE. Thank you so much for saving my life honey. TAKE CARE, and you are so pretty.

    First doll let me start off by saying thanks so much for the pep talk at the end of this tutorial ok. Thats been my problem. I'm always comparing my journey to someone else's, but not anymore. Next I have to say, I just love the chemistry that you and your hubby have. We don't get to see him that much and it's totally understandable, but I love the smile that comes over your face when he walks in the room. Now on to this bomb ass permrod set, doll it's completely 🔥🔥🔥. Believe it or not, the other day when I found out we were getting another video, I was going to ask you if you had a step by step tutorial for permrods. I have the hardest time with them, but thanks to you explaining it in such a way that I can understand, I'm totally going to give them another try. One last thing, do you ever have problems with your roots puffing up, and if you do, how do you resolve this issue? Thanks doll! 💙💙

    • @CoolCalmCurly
      @CoolCalmCurly  6 років тому +9

      Tiffany Willis I'm glad you dolls can relate to my lil rant. & yes I don't show him too much but that's my whole heart right there! I know I was long overdue for a real in depth rod routine so I'm happy you enjoyed! The roots puff up sometimes but I don't do much to combat it because it adds to the volume so I don't mind it

    Wow wow wow! What a beautiful wet set!!!! Absolutely gorgeous! You are so right about sectioning! Some trade secrets from a stylist make sure your sections are the same width as your rod. Use the lil hair wraps ( just like a reg perm) on your ends it will ensure u never have a weird bendy end ever again and ensure you don’t curl too loose or too tight! Fabulous do my dear! I LOVE natural ethnic hair... so much i specialized in it in school. Well, except cornrows for some reason I cannot get my fingers right. LOL 😂🤣but wraps/straightening/ press n curl these were my babies and yes I am a white girl that knows what a press n curl is. Lol. I was the only person in the class that knew what it was and how to use it. But your curls looked fab you did just enough pulling and picking to have a striking shape

  • @gabbycheco8957
    @gabbycheco8957 6 років тому +7

    i tried this and i think i put to much product in my hair. I put the Blueberry bliss curl jelly and since its like a gel it made my curls hard and it didnt dry fully so take my advice and only use 1 product for your hair and a little of it so it can be soft and if u have a blower maybe think about drying your hair just a little while your hair is in the rods. oh and also it didnt dry fully so the curls were loose and not tight , but there is just some advice. Hoped i helped some people.

    NEW SUBBIE this was so helpful. I generally don't detangle well enough to get anything but a wide tooth thru it, but I will work up the courage to get there so I can get the hair smoothed onto the roller like u do. It takes so long to get thru wash & detangle part that by time get thru too tired for rolling. I like your process. Method of starting w (4 then) 8 & separating again, str8 parts + advice to avoid frizz. Very Informative vid! Thx.

    Looks beautiful! Your wash-n-go's look beautiful too. I really understand how you were saying you were comparing your hair to others. I think a lot of us do that. I'm white with 3a/3b auburn hair. African American hair is so beautiful! I find myself wanting tighter curls. And then I'll have days where I just wish I had pin straight hair. Do you have any tips for those of us with shorter hair? My hair is just above shoulder legnth and I find that there's alot of tension on my hair bc it's hard to grip and keep my hair smooth on the rod.

    • @CoolCalmCurly
      @CoolCalmCurly  6 років тому +28

      Phylicia Racquel a great tip to use is in order to keep your hair secure & smooth on the rod you should be able to coil your hair around the rod at least 4-5 times. So find a good size that allows you to coil 4 times before running out of hair & you should get a nice curl without the stress on your scalp

    I'm going to a party in January and I want to rock this style but I'm afraid I will fail and end up going with a bun since it will be my first time trying. Fingers crossed!

    You just have to coil each part of your hair in the same direction you rolled the rod. It's not about left or right side, or toward your face vs away from you face. It's just about the direction you rolled the rod.
