Driver 1 and 2 are two of my favorites games ever, man. I spent so much time on Take a Ride trying to unlock secret cars and stuff like the legendary Mr. Bean can. Jesus. What a game.
this game brings so much memories, one of the first games that i ever beat, the graphics and physics too where absolutely ahead of their time on the ps1
Oh god, Chase the Gunman. I swear I tried that mission over 100 times as a kid and neither me or my brother could ever beat it. I remember trying all kinds of strats like thinking the brown sedan was secretly faster or trying to knock him into the lake. Nothing worked. Whoever designed that mission was a monster.
Yeah it's suprising how much of a difficulty jump the mission is, considering the game is already quite hard. Although thankfully speedrun wise once we learned how to do it, it does make it much more consistent!
I have these nightmares from childhood as well and was getting ready to suffer with ReDriver 2 walkthrough, but I don’t know how and why, but I beat it with 1st try! I think difficulty for this level was significantly downgraded with this port
I think Redriver2 runs slightly too fast - the original was slow due to poor frame rate, but I do think both versions were targeting an ideal of 25fps. Redriver2 runs at 30 all the time, and I think the physics are too fast at this speed.
I think it's just a matter of being used to how terribly slow the original run. Because the game can optimaly run at 30 on the PS1! ...in basically an empty parking lot away from everything
I would definitely rather 30 than the dogshit single fps figures on the original hardware. I played a PS1 ISO of it on Duckstation recently and I'm not sure what framerate that was but it felt great. Might have been a locked 25.
I downvoted this and I think I need to explain why. The constant stuttering in the vod makes it unwatchable, which sucks because I was enjoying the run.
Watching this video feels like playing og version of Driver 2 on real PS1 :D
Video choppy as heck :(
Video is freezing. Still enjoying the run.
yea,same
Me too

Love to see it again in the up coming ESA. This one was choppy as hell.
I remember never really playing the story. I could have fun just driving through the city for hours, which appeared huge to me as a child.
Great run, but such a scuffed vod
Too much freezing.
But still enjoying it. 🔥🔥

@@the_surviv0r Not in the PAL version. Bear in mind the game was made in the UK.

If you're still looking in watching it, I did upload it to my own channel
