When visiting the UK I was very impressed that the regiments all had their own museums. Thank you for the tour and thank you for your service. Very best regards Ron

    Aaah, you’re back!
    Nice little museum that.
It’s given me an idea for a U.K. tour of military museums. 👍🏻
We have amazing military history, possibly unique. We MUST preserve and support places like this.

Nice video Keith. My late paternal Grandfather, T. H. Crowe was an East Surrey (which later became part of the Queen’s Regiment) from 1926-1943, ending up as WO1 before OCTU and a commission in the Royal Engineers. He retired in 1953 as a Captain.

I love me a good museum. Kent has a lot of really well maintained museums and I always recommend Dover to my Yank mates who pop over for a trip. My favourite is the Spitfire & Hurricane Memorial Museum at Manston. It's a small place, but they do a great job of displaying the two fighters and associated RAF kit.
The personal stories like those of Captain Nevill always gives me a sense of pride in the sacrifices made by previous generations. Made my day and it's and it's only 06:30 hours here in Florida. Cheers mate!

@@LetsTab59-bd4fd superb! While I was in the Royal Artillery I have a deep affection for every one of our endeavours starting around the Zulu and Boer wars. My great grandfather was RHA at the Shoebury barracks (where I lived before I moved to the US), the other was infantry at Ypres. My granddad was Royal Navy in ww2 working destroyers mostly in the Mediterranean Sea and I joined up in 97.
Military history is in my blood and I look forward to learning more from you in the future.
      Thank you!
I’m really looking forward to watching all of your videos; your calm nature makes for a very relaxing watch

Regimental Museum at Fort George near Inverness is worth a look. Museum of the Seaforth Highlanders, Cameron Highlanders, Queens Own Highlanders and now the Highlanders. The fort is currently Garrisoned by The Black Watch, 3 Scots. Lots of history there with a few poignant items. Future tab for you Keith.

I spent 4.5 years up there the place is crazy. Seagulls the size of children, and stays light during the summer for around 20 hours a day. The pub up the road is called the gun lodge and it’s like something out of deliverance. The worst part is the Inverness police they are like the Gestapo.

Is the Castle/museum free to veterans as it should be or were you mugged at the gate like everyone else?
The Church is worth a visit too Keith; not least for the brass plaques to our fallen comrades on the wall, Inc one from D Coy 3 Queens murdered in S Armagh on 19 March 1979.
    RIP Pete Woolmore.

Unfortunately it's not free to veterans there isn't even a discount! I asked, I also told them I was ex PWRR and that my daughter was christened in the church and that my sisters funeral was held in that church as she was the Garrison Padres Assistant. But no, nothing.
I know the brass plaques you mentioned and I paid my respects while in front of them. Thank you for your support
