I have 4000w /8000w peak inverter. Thank you for this video I will try this. I work security at night posted in my truck needing to heat up food. Cold food gets old after awhile.
Brilliant, thank you for sharing this and explaining, I imagine even though the engine is running the alternator wont be able to completely stop the battery from draining down but just to help the battery ?
How did you run the wire from the inverter to the battery? Did you drill a hole in the floor board and to under the car or did you drill into the engine compartment?
Does the power stop getting fed to the microwave from the inverter once the car is off? Does the inverter turn off with the car? (Does it depend on the inverter?)
hi Justin, this setup wont turn off the microwave with the car, for that you will need to go a letter be deeper and connect the negative from your microwave to get activate with your car switch that said you must remember to turn off your inverter by pressing a button if you wont be using your car for days. good question Justin!
Actually, a standard 700 watt Microwave only outputs 700 watts. It draws 1200! therefore a 700 watt converter will significantly underpower your microwave! Check your facts buddy!
Thanks for making a simple, short video on this. Really great.
