Normal people: "I've visited Japan once in my life. Was it 2017? 2018? Hm..." Marc: "Oh, I remember this guy! We played on Daybreak LE back in January 2017, at the 5 minute mark he dropped 6 marines and a tank on my main's mineral line and I defended with 4 reapers..."
It's also a situation where you remember out of the ordinary. 90% of the matches has a meta thst is written in stone, those 10% starkly stand out from the rest.
Eyy... Shoutout to Enderr and from the Philippines. Met him here in Cebu, where the SC2 hotbed was back in 2016-2019. He was with Psistorm back then and the dude was just phenomenal. Nice that uThermal knows and remembers him. Again, a big shoutout from your fans here in th Philippines Marc! You should come visit here and maybe go on vacation. 😅😅😊😊
Hot damn Thriving put up an amazing game. Unfortunate about the bane misclick on the lair, otherwise he likely had you, though we would've missed out on this insane end. Down to 0 drones, 52 minerals, and an orange hp Hatch! 🔥🔥🔥
What’s thriving’s @ I’m all for turning uthermal opponents into sc2 microcelebs lol. Also that wall-hatch is really cool, basically you get creep spread and larva plus supply plus a wall all without building queens or ovies. Feels like that’s a trade off that should find a decent niche success
That Rival Zerg really deserves praise. Not only does he not get salty or anything. But he jumps right down there with you, giving YT some amazing matches and content. He is going all in, seems like he is having fun with it to. Respect to him.
So whats nice about zerg, is that your larva can stick around, and larva used to be impossible to kill, anyways, if you have a advantage combat, like mutas again, sometimes stopping any production during a base trade, can help when yoruy defending, and then you select all your larva and make drones when the attack subsides. Contamination is 21 second production and researc hstopping. So, every contamination is a probe.... Now you will encounter more army, but, you can contaminate all the worker production buidlings over and over, I think its like 48 seconds, but if you have 5 overseers, you chain cast on worker buidlings, you end up wit ha probe lead, opponenet hsould end up with a offset military lead, which you will have a slight re arc, towards and equal miltiary lead, but early game, this creates a lot of function timing issues, effecting income, delaying probes early is rather funny, and if you can cycle in delaying worker count, you can easly as zerg get, 10 -20 workers ahead, and easily defend with an army, IE tanking zerg play is not used very oftne since most peopel paly theme of flooding, but over seers also can grant vision... if you force out one missle turret, pretty much get eh cost of the overseer back, except the gas, but that doesn't matter. Its easier to rotate overseers into halting owrker production then research, althoug hresearch is good its often, stationed between nat, and main, making it more of a risk where rss gather points are perimeter allowing overseers to move in and escape, with upgrade speed, whammy. and overlords can take a lot of damage from turrets, except.. spore crawlers do a lot, but overseers are pretty tanky for their cost.
Hi marc. I've never played SC2 at all but I watch your videos almost every single day. Yours and Loko's are my favorite channels. Instead of watching movies, I watch starcraft instead. Lol. I heard that Ender is from Cebu, same as me. Shoutout to all my kabayans out there.
11:08 you COULD hit the hatchery by targeting larva and cocoons. The center of hatchery is a big distance from contour. But larva have tiny signature that is OUTSIDe the contour
Marc, Marc, Marc i believe at this point you got all of your opponents there blood unther there nails. It is realy entertaining to watch you slaughter and your opponents surviving attempts.
I love how complimentary Uthermal is when he loses. Always gives his opponent the benefit of the doubt and credit. When I win games on ladder often I some kind of toxicity which is weird in a 1v1 game where you can't blame anyone else. It's weird when toxic people come up against their own inadequacies they would rather blame you for trying to win against them than accept they didn't have the ability to win the match. People flame is you cheese, people flame if you hold their cheese, people flame if you use spellcasters and outplay them, people flame if you harass them too much. I feel sorry for these sad people that play ladder in a 1v1 setting and get toxic. You honestly can't get more butthurt at your own failure.
"they would rather blame you for trying to win" this is so true. I never understood how this makes sense. Of course I'm trying to win. It's a competitive game. Why is that a bad thing? Were you Not trying to win? If so, why are you upset you lost?
I love my daily dose of Uthermal 🙌🏻 Not sure if you will read this, but I would love to see you try one of my old cheese stats 👺 I used to make burrowed banelings and set them as traps in chokepoints - bait a huge army into it and go for cleanup and counterattack with mutalisks and ultras 😂 It would be AMAZING to see you revive my ancient cheesebuild
It was an uneventful loss but I'm glad the first game happened. Ling aggression + banelings is a pretty hard counter to any lair cheese when scouted, and it is how all of my low master league games would end if I tried to do ling drops. I was constantly wondering why I didn't see that happen to uthermal more. Ling drops should never work in zvz.
At 4 minutes upgrade to lair during one of your Hatchery rushes and the follow up is further psychological damage, with overseers. COnstantly stopping production, after you have impede their natural. LMAO. Only need one, but two would be good. three you can should a building down for over a minute, lmao
Spine rush against Protoss definitely worth testing more. I do think you should keep in mind that your second Protoss opponent also misplayed pretty severely, allowing you to break his natural really easily. I recall in one of your Proxy Hatch to GM videos, you played against a 6k NA Protoss who went for Cannons into Robo and held pretty convincingly (the map had a ramp tho). From this vid (starts @ 11:10): ua-cam.com/video/hXMPjFs_XtI/v-deo.html
Man that second game... I know you're humble about your casual discussion while you play at your level of skill, but this one got me for some reason... I dunno why but the base trade felt so calculated, and so abnormal, and it was so complicated that I finally recognized you've taught yourself to casually talk while focusing on performing very difficult tasks. I dunno, just sayin' I guess 🤷.
No creep spread, no banelings, you shouldn't play zerg aside from you starting the zergling drop trend or doing mass hydra or mass muta you just don't have the flexibility to play zerg, stealth would own you you barely ever make an overseer's or spores and when you do you always lose them and take too long to replace them. maybe you could go back to basics and do queen walks to help you learn why creep is important.
I wish you would play like this in a tournament. What I mean is. Playing your best, playing not caring about the result, but just playing for the best possible result and having fun. I think you would crush.
it's so weird how marc will sometimes grossly underestimate how badly he traded. like in this first game he was thinking it might still be okay after the first round of trades when his opponent escaped with most of the drones whereas he himself had to trade with them to kill the zerglings
Trading drones for zerglings is better than losing every drone, and he literally goes and immediately acknowledges that he's in an extremely bad position. He could have just immediately lost right there. Edit: also, he's generally an optomistic person anyways
Yeah he had only said that moments before noticing the banelings which is when it started to look a lot worse 😂 either way I’m a big fan of the realistic optimism it makes it very enjoyable to watch
Normal people: "I've visited Japan once in my life. Was it 2017? 2018? Hm..."
Marc: "Oh, I remember this guy! We played on Daybreak LE back in January 2017, at the 5 minute mark he dropped 6 marines and a tank on my main's mineral line and I defended with 4 reapers..."
Pre nerf reapers
secret challenge: he's making every story up on the spot, and they are getting progressively more implausible
It's similar to chess grandmasters. Or any professional. When you know your profession, you remember all kinds of shit.
Seriously though, harstem is the same, they all have this incredible memory while I can barely remember what I did yestderday.
It's also a situation where you remember out of the ordinary. 90% of the matches has a meta thst is written in stone, those 10% starkly stand out from the rest.
That 2nd match was amazing. You guys are now rivals :D

I felt true despair at that moment xD
@@ThrivingGGnice game!
Haha actually that build from thriving was sick. If he doesn’t misclick his banes on a lair he might have won. Hatch in wall way underrated
the thrivingGG base race is epic. Great work Marc!!!!
I'm from the Philippines and it's a pleasant surprise to know that a player from here was acknowledged by THE uThermal. *Goosebumps*
CaviarNapoleon 😂
Had to go to the doctors the other day…… he said “I was ingesting too much cheese”…… told him “Uthermal went into full content mode”
I checked EnDerr's liquipedia and his name is indeed Caviar Napoleon Marquises-Acampado.
What’s thriving’s @

Dang, that IS the richest name I've ever heard of - Caviar Napoleon Marquises-Acampado
🤑 I feel like a dirty, dirty peasant after just typing that.
Whenever I see Thriving in his videos I know its a banger.
Well done ThrivingGG!!
i just love "i only spread creep from my oponents base" :D

will we see some creep spread today, my guess is no haha
Will the commanders be spreading creep today? This reporter can only guess...
Noo

ThrivingGG I'm one of your biggest fans. Thanks for the games.
"What the hell am I gonna do with this gold base?!" You mine it, silly goose 🤭
In the last game, your follow up to the protoss conceding the natural and walling off should be a ling drop
I would love to see you use the contamination ability more to show it's power in messing things up
There was a Day[9] Funday Monday that revolved around contamination tactics, and it was actually excellent
Do you have a link? Would be pretty sweet to see that game

I loved “that name is so rich it puts my bank account to shame.”
@uThermal you should do creep drops with dropperlords abd queens
Marc, Marc, Marc i believe at this point you got all of your opponents there blood unther there nails. It is realy entertaining to watch you slaughter and your opponents surviving attempts.
Epic z v z base trade. Never saw one like this.
Best moment 28:30 , another one!
Just wanted to say LOVE YOU! Thanks for all the great content.
a nice strategy after the proxy hatch against protoss: lair -> drop in the main -> spine crawlers destroy the second wall
I came for the spine rush and was rewarded with that beautiful game 2

Unsanity! Anti-sanity! Highly entertaining chaos.
You keep me watching sc2 keep up the good commentary and antics
i love uThermal, binging all his vids, best SC2 content around
another thriving gg banger
"now i have 2 drones mining which is really nice"
I haven't even seen this video yet, but I bet some unit is just going to be "popping off" isn't it 😅
is the tournament going to be streamed? Would love to watch you play in it.
Somewhere Golden is smiling that you put a Protoss player in jail.

that second game was crazy
Watching Uthermal play makes me happy, but his Zerg is even more enjoyable than the others
Did you see the Bly v Harstem match? Ling drop timed to protect a nydus rush looked hilarious.
I havent played sc2 in like 10 years but I'm loving these videos!
To be a true Zerg master you have to stop cleaning your desk and let the creep spread
I was happy to rember that tempest rush on the second map haha 😅 and as zerg player it is so enjoyable to see you play so much zerg games :D
29:53 TAKE. IT. BACK.

Will uThermal join the tournament as random or as terran? Or has he embraced his protoss side?
Up next, on Starcraft Meme News 😅
He is training as Terran for it, the series could be named tryhard to top10 gm. It's refreshing to see him play "real" builds from time to time :D
2nd match was insane
Your creep commentary is top notch 👌
An Uthermal episode 😊
Thermy is the man! ❤
Bangers !
thee GM of the dealership I work for has the name "Miles Bentley" thats the richest name ive ever meet. and shocker hes an old white man.
please do theglml ZvZ cheese with drop of 4 drones and making spines on the creep spread from transport ovi. its crazy!
Can spines or spores go in a dropper lord? That would be a funny z v z cheese if you're aloud
*allowed ;)
That’s a cool suggestion. I’ve seen Ultras being dropped so it’s likely.
No, those are buildings. You'd have to pick up drones, and build them on creep on location.
This is how zerg should be played!
Spine crawler rush is so funny
love your Zerg cheese
Proxy hatch is always fun
Amazing micro in the second game tho...
I Love the daily videos
Bly doing proxy hatches against harstem... Who is copying who? Very entertaining lol
