I think you are correct, no awareness to what they are doing. Oblivious.

They dont think about the future, nor future of their actions towards you.
Entitled and dictates what you should feel.
They will say sorry and require you to forgive them the moment they say sorry.
There is no sense of even interacting with people who have high personality by default.

I think they do have a game plan but they are in such denial . Their game plan is getting their needs met and a part of this is protecting their sense of denial at all costs.

No, it's not a plan, yes they do practice their manipulations. But it's not like a scheduling. They make absolutely no long-term plan about you .

If they have no awareness of what they are doing, why do they try to conceal it so well in idealization phase?

+Bohemianwood NadineBivins That is natural. Everyone does this. But when we talk about Narcissism, we talk about a development disorder (early childhood experience: neglection, instable parents and life situations, abusive parents, trauma). Empathy is developed by stable care and physically and emotionally available bonding persons (good enough mothering). Only this way enough mirror neurons can be built (responsible for feeling empathy).
It is their inner structure, that makes them act, not their awareness. Btw, we all use only about 5% of awareness every day. 95% is subconscious.

+Lauri Rose I have a question, how do we find out what end of the spectrum someone is? Is there a test their spouse can take?
