You are not the only one 😊. The pyrography alone is worth the wait. Carved in Leather would also be a nice version, but wood is also a fantastic medium materialize the image of art in the head.
Let the adventure begin! And my what an adventure it shall be. You definitely have a bit of work cut out for yourself. Will be watching and cheering from afar. 🙏Well wishes and positive thoughts Sir Crawford out 🔥⚒️🧙🏼♂️
Is it done yet? Jokes aside, i am really looking forward to seeing the progression. And the finished piece!! Good luck and congratulations on the commission
Sutton Hoo is Anglo Saxon, thought to be the grave and sword of Raedwald, nothing to do with Vikings other than fighting them occasionally, still be interesting to watch the build though
Anglo Saxons were settlers who travelled over from what is now many of the Scandinavian countries. The term "Viking" is a job description, not a cultural group, coming from the Norse word "vikingr" which means "expedition". Not only can you see this in their history, but you can see it in the commonalities in the designs of their attire, weaponry and customs. So to suggest that the Sutton Hoo's "presentation side" is a good example of the way high end Viking swords were made isn't even a slight stretch.
@@ValhallaIronworks wrong, Anglo Saxons were Germanic people from different tribes, they also predated the Vikings originally by several hundred years, well aware of what it all is being where I come from is not to far from Sutton Hoo, and was in the kingom of the East Angles back then and became part of the Danelaw when Viking people did invade parts of the UK
I did have a long reply written out, but I simply don't want to bother wasting my time on someone who is clearly so set in their way of thinking that they cannot be convinced of anything else. It's impossible to add water to a cup that is already full.
@@ValhallaIronworks would be no point as obviously you are not going to educate yourself, and more for your watchers than anything else anyway, hopefully they have the nous to check and find out for themselves, and as for your response, kettle and pot springs to mind, doing as you accuse me of, and it isn't as if it isn't easy to fact check either
Looking forward to this one!
