So sorry Nick about your Mom's treatment at the hospice. When my Mom was recommended hospice we did it at home. They had everything she needed delivered to my home, had a nurse 24/7, doctor came in every day at noon. We could call him anytime to come in and we also didn't want Mommy all drugged up so the nurse would monitor the pain and if she needed They would put a pastel under her tongue. My Mommy had colon cancer at 94 years old. It was the best experience I could have had. They even treated the family with psychological support. Taking care of a loved one takes a toll on you and you don't realize it. Bless your Mom and prayers that she gets better and relief from pain without the fuzziness.
I hope one day you both can look back on these vlogs and realize how good you both have been to Nicks Mum. You will hopefully one day get comfort in knowing you did everything you could to love and advocate for her.
Hi nick. Yes the morphine patch when you change it that's what happens it makes you drozy. But it gets better once it gets into her system. Bless her lovely lady. Xx
Sending love and prayers. O lost my dad to cancer in 99 and my mom to a stroke in 2018 right before I deployed to Kuwait. Not a day goes by I don't think about them. Especially now that my wife and I are living in the home they built. Thanks for sharing the vlogs.
Thank you for sharing these videos of your Mom. I know it must be extremely difficult for you both. Hopefully you will someday think of these as extra time with your loved one. Thinking of you both
I just wanted to say I went through the cancer battle with my brother until September of 2022. I miss him greatly but I also have so many happy memories and I am so grateful I was able to be with and take care of him through his courageous fight. My thoughts and prays are with you.😪😇
I feel your pain with the bureaucracy of the many different ways that all the medical people deal with things . I lost count with the number of different creams and painkillers the district nurses ordered because there was a different one that come out to see my late husband and all had their various ways on how to deal with different treatments . I know that dealing with someone with cancer can be very exhausting. The way the both of you have supported each other getting you both through a very difficult time in both your lives. Nick you did your mum proud , no matter how exhausted you felt putting 110% in everyday to help her through her treatment and care. I know that had you needed to do it all over again you would. Many people say you will get through your grief but make sure you take time for each other and things will get easier. The pain never goes away , but you learn how to deal , just remember the wonderful memories you all shared together and they will get you through. Take care of yourselves big hugs xx
Bill Bryson At Home is literally my favourite book of all time! You will never look at your house in the same way again and it's also very funny. Read it! He's my favourite author.
I love watching your videos. They bring me comfort to watch. I’ve never been to England but love learning about you and your country. I hope to visit one day. My heart goes out to you Nick and your family. Having lost my dad to cancer I know the hole it leaves in our hearts. Love to see you two together. Also, we have 2 springer spaniels names Lilo and Daisy.

Only tie on roller skates and in the street for me growing up but we did have an ice rink. After a couple of years of renting (🥴) I was given my own ice boots for my birthday. Oooo - the smell of the new white kid leather was just delicious. Our bootiful merle Sheltie is called Brodie.
Had a Jack Russell named Toby, smartest dog I ever had. Griswold is the name of our current pup. He’s a sweet and social mini schnauzer. Sending love your way guys. Thank you for sharing and hope you’re taking time off for yourselves.❤
Truly so very sorry to hear about Gail. Devastating for you all. There's not much anyone can say to help with your grief, but I do hope you can find comfort that she is no longer in pain. The love you have for your Mum will never leave you. It's a weird transition after the funeral, so stick together & be kind to each other... you're going to need each other. Thinking of you guys ❤
Nick & Leigh - such devoted son & son-in-law - very touching to watch 😢 we have a dog called ‘Mushu’ - friends of ours have always has black Labrador dogs - one after the other, always called ‘jet’ ! 😂 funniest thing as they all has quite different personalities so trying to reminisce a particular dog is very entertaining - they’re up to ‘jet’ 6 !!!
