honestly I was playing stuff like hinotama or chain energy and won 1st turn XD (if I got to go first that is)
Dude I speedran this event in like 5 minutes. I built an N/R rarity burn deck and apparently everyone else had the same idea so the games were over so fast. It was basically whoever won the coin toss instantly won. Even tho it was a quick event for me it was still so funny trying to out burn the other people 🤣🔥🔥
There is actually lot of handtraps for going second and Anti burn. I win most of the games Even as going 2nd

Like D/D/D Leonidas is a 2600 beatstick that heals effect damage you take when sumoned then prevent any future effect damage as long as he is on the field. Super good in this mode.
It's pretty funny how this event has its own meta completely different from anything else.
Hanewata is the new Ash Blossom.
I really wanted to put him in my deck, 3 copies of him along the Hanewata, but I don't have enough SR resources to craft tech for a meme format lol
The D/D/D who turns effect damage to healing went nuts
I guess that he could be mostly needed for these things
This guy and D arc go crazy the amount of times someone stupidly tried to burn me when I had these juggernauts on the field only to fail is amazing

Yeah, that timer is a lie. You really only have 4 seconds to choose.

Man it was really satisfying making a close enough good deck with barely any super rare or ultra rare and using mostly rare and common
Like hell yea, this event (albeit short) provided me with more unexpected fun/amusement than I was ready for. Earned myself a shiny new title during the event and everything.

I managed to make it not fun. I had a duel where the opponent opened a shit ton of Junkuriboh and similar hand traps that negate effect damage. We ended up mutually burning ourselves to just above 500 LP when I played Chain Energy. Then he activated Fire Cracker (burns for 1000) and I chained Hanewata, both of us paying the 500 life point cost for the last time, losing the ability to activate any card. But I noticed we both had 34 cards in the deck... and it was my turn. I'll be honest, I nearly passed out multiple times over the course of that duel, doing nothing but pressing end turn over and over; it was a game of chicken over who would surrender first but I eventually won. He didn't even have the decency of decking out, he drew the very bottom card of his deck then surrendered. Was very proud of myself, but immediately went to sleep.

Because Burn cards are mostly N and Rs, you’re able to build a good burn deck with some staples like Prosp and Extrav as well as all kinds of N/R Burn and Anti-Burn cards and it was genuinely really fun to do, games were over in seconds and since everyone was doing it I didn’t feel scummy

I love these new events in Master Duel.
They turn the beloved card game into Hot Potato and Russian Roulette.
Truly how the game is meant to be played.
This event was like duelist kingdoms. Each extreme so far was fun as heck
Loved it I played a red eyes deck... I won every time I went first.

I lost four times in a row to effect/burn damage. I created a burn deck where every card either did effect damage, drew cards, or reflected burn damage. I won every match I went first. I think this was a fun idea in principle, but allowing burn with this few life points is pretty much a guaranteed win.
Felt like I was in Duelist Kingdom surrounded by burn deck hell hahaha
Burn decks representing fire works on new years is pretty cool. Loved this event
I had such an easy day in this event by just playing Swordsoul because their card combo has about 1200 effect damage turn 1 and turn 2 if they play anything on the field, you hit them for 1200 effect damage again. Then just filled the rest of my deck with effect negate damage to survive turn 1 if im not first lmao
ugh the burn deck in this event was a nightmare
The event is silly. I enjoyed it for a bit. There's a fun little minigame of cards that deal burn damage and counters that prevent burn damage.

No, the cheapest deck in this event is a deck filled with just spell cards that do effect damage.

This event was amazing. I already had a burn deck with 3 copies of premium stuff like Chain Strike, so I was able to rake in wins fast, counterplay the anti-burn cards by killing in a single chain, and in only about 4 hours total took my gold pass from 61 all the way to 100.
This is really the Yugioh equivalent of throwing hot honeybuns at people.
God I love it.

Friend shared a FTK burn deck but it had WAY too many SRs.
So I made 20 burn cards, threw in 20 bricks, and rolled the bones till I got that pack
I loved this event i leveled up with 4-5 levels and i won a lot of games with spell damage cards in one round
That was easiest event to do ever, i love when people try to play combo decks, also me "Secret Barrel + secret blast = game"

A Cubic deck would be a great trolling deck for this meta. Special Summon Crimson Nova and go to end phase, both players take 3000 LP. A draw every time lol
To me - having not made a deck for the format - the meta was just going second, breaking their board, and going for one attack with some kind of cyber dragon
cryber dragon infinity and most of the chimeratech fusions with clockwork night can handle a surprising amount of bs

The games per minute were super high, relative to any event that's been out.
And how often is Sparks competitive?
I loved this event because of the amount of legacy packs I was able to farm off of it since the duels were super fast.

the gandora deck works in this event, especially when you use Soul Adsorption. Also to anyone who wants to use doto's gandora deck I recommend adding Gizmek Makami.

I played a deck focused on health regain and then added Eco, Mystical Spirit of the Forest to it after losing to someone using it.
I was expecting a lot more burn decks. Red-Eyes with Inferno Fire Blast would go hard.

Unless you drew one of the anti-burn handtraps. Only ran 3x of Hanawata, but 1 seemed glued to my hand, fortunately.
Also became relevent Crossout targets, kinda crazy.

They should have disabled effect damage, only combat can win
@@ChargeQMBut that would have taken away the entire point of the event? A good deck is still putting game on board and winning in 1 battle phase anyways or locking you out regardless of the lp. May as well go ladder.
I was baffled I did not duel any Trickstar player. The prize was bad so no need to explore after getting it.

like Doto i also had like one ACTUAL duel…then the rest were just straight burn. i had to literally copy the burn deck from an opponent (only had to generate a couple of low rarity cards) just to get my three wins. overall this was NOT fun
This event was great. 30 second duels that ended up getting me over 50 ranks to my duel pass and over 60 Legacy packs, all in just part of a single day. Heck, the only bad thing about it was that there were actually some people who brought decks as if it was a regular game. Some people just couldn't seem to understand that this event was not the time or place for their 10 minute long combo decks.
First time i played Vanquish Soul and I went undefeated with 34 matches on this event. Going first automatically wins you the game.
If you think that's fun, you might not have gone off meta ever yet. Cause this event is unfair.

I just put every N or R burn card in one deck lmao. C1 Soul of Fire send Ultramafus 1500 damage, C2 Poison of the Old Man 800 or CL2 Fire Cracker 1000 = only time in YGO history I've seen a game won in a single chain, 2 cards played total. Not counting the freak accident of opening with Exodia turn 1 of course
This event was nice (short, but nice) provided more fun than expected and I even earned myself a new title. 2024, we ready

Chicken game was my only solution to the burn decks in this game mode especially since most ppl don’t read chicken game
I went into this event severely unprepared, I started with my standard deck, and 98% of the event is a type of burn deck.
Also my SR pack was Yujo Friendship, just saw Doto open his.
I gave up on this event halfway through my third duel.

I played my windwitch deck, so going first was almost a guaranteed win every duel. Sadly, I was primarily going second against predominantly pure burn decks.

I actually got all 3 wins in this mode with the original ALL LUCK deck. I’ve recreated the main deck for the orgoth luck deck. Can I have the extra deck cards for this if there is one doto?
I added 3 dice jars to a normal deck for this event for giggles, but when it won me game 1 it felt so great!
Ngl a mode with decks made up of 2025 random cards would go crazy.

I only used a Gustav Max-oriented Earth Machine deck and yeah people couldn't survive 2 Gustav Maxes, let alone 4 of those big chungus trains with omni-negate on the side. Though this event is pretty much you either go first or go get blasted

Fun fact: while its mostly burn spells, make sure you win the coin toss, and run black-winged dragon, im not even kidding.
I played VS relying on Heavy Borger for burn. Went 3-0, including a match against someone playing Trickstar Lycoris who ignored lethal when they had it because they wanted the burn win, but accidentally gave me the extra turn to burn them instead. Happy new year!

I am using a trap deck that's basically just counters to spell cards that inflict damage, however, it only works if I go first, cuz otherwise, they'll insta kill.
This is what you would call TODC, the Touch of Death Combat. Just bring in any boss monster, dead.

Lost one match to a straight up burn deck. After got 3 straight with Vanquish Soul. First match with snow devil burn, Second match Borger burn, third match Caesar. GGs.
That 80 min play isthe Bishvalken burn but now with Ten Thousand Dragon
