don't know if members of your patreon crew have told you but Thomas Knight had his exams this year so Luke was written out of the story to allow his actor to focus on his exams which is understandable
Big fan of when they bring paranormal into sci-fi, even if it's fairly predictable that it won't ever actually be real ghosts! There's a couple incredible "ghost/haunted house" episodes in Doctor Who that I can't wait for you to react to!
Donald Sumpter was great as Erasmus Darkening in this story. Donald Sumpter pops up in the Whoniverse again in Doctor Who itself (about 4-5 series ahead of where you're at - I will refrain from saying who he portrays, because...spoilers.. but yeah, there's a fun fact I guess). So many actors portray different characters all throughout the Whoniverse, so much more than you'd expect..
The best I can say about this story is that they tried something different. Haunted house stories aren't for everyone and I'm not sure this story really fits the show. It feels like they had the assistant be really camp to lighten the mood and keep the kids engaged but his energy just clashes with the rest of the story. Luke's absence of course doesn't help either and I do think it hurts the story specifically because it is so different so it would have been interesting to see how he'd react in this situation.
Idk how everyone else feels about this story, but even as a kid I'd always skip this one on rewatches. Always just found it sorta boring. That being said, Floella Benjamin as Professor Rivers is always good
Luke's not in this because the actor had his GCSEs when they were filming this

Ooh something to look forward to and if they are in the Moffat era probably pretty terrifying!
Yay a new reaction❤ This is one of my favs, terrified me when I first watched it haha

What's Rassilon doing on Earth with Sarah Jane?
Maester Luwin! (Sorry.)
Please react to Farewell Sarah Jane on the Doctor Who UA-cam Channel after series 5!
I actually always forget this story exists, it's not my favourite honestly

Low key think this is the weakest ep of the show idk like it’s still good but feels very flat line

Thumbs up for recognizing the delightfulness of Floella Benjamin!
It's true, not everyone can love every episode.
That'll be Baroness Floella Benjamin, who plays an active role in the House of Lords- as well as being a fine and well loved actor.
