Construction of the Mukran ferry port on Rügen, 1983

In 1983, construction work around the ferry line between Mukran on the island of Rügen and the Lithuanian port of Klaipeda is intended to speed up freight traffic between the GDR and the Soviet Union. Shovel excavators, crane excavators and other construction vehicles move building material so that a huge ferry port can be built. Next to the construction site, residential quarters for workers and a railway station are created in a short time. This creates the best conditions for the rapid completion of the port.
