When it rains, it POURS! Nice to listen to Non-Tamil songs here. Mani Ratnam's 2nd movie was composed for FREE by Maestro Ilayaraja. His first movie, Pallavi Anupallavi (Kannada), was composed by IR for a mere 20% of his usual remuneration - all to help a novice. Theeram was the original tune which IR reused for Roja ondru, but changed the latter's color totally with freaktastic orchestration; also because it was a romantic duet. This was more of the typical orchestration fitting the Mollywood blues. IR easily becomes etched in Mollywood music history. IR has composed for ~70 Malayalam movies. Almost all songs are stellar numbers, with songs like Thumbi vaa, Unarumee gaanam, Aalippazham, etc. becoming anthems there! His background scores are critically acclaimed too! He has a huge fan following of celebrities there!

No more respect for Mani ratnam,as Ilayaraja gave complete life for Mani ratnam in the movie industry by asking producers to give chance to Mani ratnam for his 2nd,3rd and 4th film,but he shamelessly left him for nothing.Selfish guy...
