@@elpepo0 well she's just been pretending this whole time and hiding her true motives for so many years so it was a relief laugh.

Annie literally explained why she laughed. "I'm glad I could be a good person for you Armin". In other words, she is laughing at herself for getting so emotionally attached to Armin to the point that Armin could manipulate her.
1. She didn't kill Armin when she had the chance during the expedition
2. She didn't want to do the "Eren recue" but Armin said "You will be a bad person in my eyes if you don't" and so she changed her mind for Armin. (And also put on the ring cuz she is suspicious as well)
Annie's laugh wasnt in the original manga, she only Smiled. The author regretted leaving it out so he sent them copies of the original draft to include in the anime.
And the director turned it into the worst anime cliche possible. Given her usual reserved character, even a smile with a wild look in her eyes would've told all we need to know.

@@lewis0705 You need to watch Ilse's Notebook. No Regrets you can take or leave it, but Ilse's Notebook is in the manga and is the first time you hear "Ymir" mentioned on the anime or the manga.
Before you guys jump to season 2 you MUST watch the " ilse's notebook " ova ! it's meant to be watched before starting season 2. it'll add more context to the season. Also i hope adam is moderating the comments since some of them contain spoilers and he's already seen the anime
I know this comment is MONTHS old and the reactors are already way ahead but I see this everywhere, and I feel like Ilse's notebook tend to confuse people more and make them come up with wrong theories regarding Ymir

like i know how jean's name is correctly pronounced. but as a non native english speaker, i was conditioned to pronounce the word "jean" as jean and not jaan. so saying it as jaan just doesnt come instinctively and also throws me off like it doesnt feel right even though thats the correct pronunciation... does anyone get my point? lol
