      Acne is the thing causing despression, not accutane. Most people (especially teens) have a bad self esteem before starting the treatment and as the acne naturally gets worse during the first 1-3 months on accutane the risk of getting depressed increases as well.
      To anyone starting on accutane: Stick with it, follow your doctors advice, ignore the haters (true friends will always have your back), try your best to be in a positive state of mind and after 6 months just enjoy having a much better skin and confidence!

      He clearly has makeup, I think I have the same type from what I've seen when he was at his worst, those cyst scars don't go away, the damage you get is similar to that of a deep knife cut.

    • @redninelowdog
      @redninelowdog 6 років тому +141

      Gilgamesh, you do realize that he got laser skin resurfacing to remove his acne scars, right? He even has a video of it on his youtube channel. You can barely see any of his acne scars anymore because of it.

    • @TheOwlGilga
      @TheOwlGilga 6 років тому +16

      Well then he lasered them then, my point was that those scars were not naturally gone. They do fade fairly well though but without any intervention the texture of the skin will always be scared.

    • @redninelowdog
      @redninelowdog 6 років тому +19

      True. If by "fade fairly well" you mean the redness goes away over time, then, yeah, probably. The dents the pimples leave, however, particularly the large ones, on a his face would still be fairly visible if not for the laser treatment that he got. All I'm suggesting is that he probably isn't wearing makeup because he doesn't need to; the laser skin resurfacing he got and the healthy diet that he's been keeping up already took care of the scars for him :)

    • @TheOwlGilga
      @TheOwlGilga 6 років тому +9

      The glow on his skin for me looks like makeup, remember this is a TV show, could be the intense lighting though.
      Scared tissue requires up to a year to fully recover and leaves tissue dependant on the damage, this is what people mean with scars "fading" well. The laser surgery is maybe what I am getting since my right cheek for some odd reason is way more scared than my left one, it looks like I am Prince Zuko from there.

    One of my pet peeves is when people point out your acne and give you advice on "good skincare products". Most people with acne have tried millions of different products. For me, I have hormonal problems and acne is one of my signs that I have some issues with my hormones! When I do eat healthy and consume less dairy, it does clear up for a little bit, but it still flares up. Lots of people don't understand how mentally draining acne can have on someone. I'm glad this video was made not only to help people who might have acne because of their food, but also towards those oblivious to someone's insecurities of their acne.

      Try to eliminate all forms of dairy , sugar, and bread. I did the whole 30 program and my acne cleared up. Once I started to eat “junk/processed “ food it came back. It takes baby steps but everything can be corrected with diet. It’s hard, if it was easy everyone would do it. Whole 30. Look into it people !

    I'm 71 now. I had cystic acne from age 16 to age 30 when after going thru every treatment, I was put on Acutane and I was cured but left facially scarred. Suicide was a constant thought. No dating, no prom, no friends. It completely destroyed the life I could have had. It's still hard to talk about but I'm so greatfu for videos like these. I was not alone. Eliminating dairy, gluten and sugar cleared most of my acne. I do still get some hormonal acne around my period, but most of it is gone. Also, consuming turmeric and apple cider vinegar too helped with the acne. Before 'going natural', I took antibiotics for 2 years, which ruined my immune system and the acne just came back after I stopped. I wish I'd known about the diet aspect earlier!

      You mean 'consuming'? I just take 1 tsp of turmeric mixed with black pepper a day. Also a few tbsps or Apple Cider Vinegar a day. Also use turmeric and ACV as topical treatment particularly good for scarring and inflammation. Turmeric is a natural anti-inflammatory.

      leopard prints does it need to be fresh turmeric or can u use the tumeric spice?

    • @leopardprints
      @leopardprints 7 років тому +1

      The turmeric spice is fine. You can mix 1 tsp of turmeric, about 30 'turns' of black pepper- the pepper helps the turmeric to work and mix it with the non-dairy milk. It helps if you consume the turmeric with something with fat in it- such as the soy milk etc.
      Also, use it as a face mask. Just mix some turmeric with honey or water, make it into a paste and apply for about 30 minutes. Use a clean makeup brush to apply and always wear gloves because turmeric gets everywhere! Don't worry if it stains your face, because it will wash off in the morning shower.
      I would also recommend using a rosewater spray on your face- that helps to ease inflamed skin.

    I haven’t eaten dairy in three years and I would still get eczema. I lessened my grain intake and still got it. So I gave up nuts and it cleared up. Also started getting hormonal acne and the moment I went back to eating hormone free chicken it cleared up. I think all of this stuff that they pump into our food is messing people up. Half the stuff they put in our food is not acceptable overseas.

      I did Accutane. The effects start to wear off after awhile, though there is a permanent reduction. The best thing I ever did to get rid of acne? Quit dairy. Dairy is full of estrogen. Acne is largely a hormonal issue. But even so, with completing a full course of Accutane and giving up dairy, I had some acne that persisted. I started supplementing with Magnesium and spraying Magnesium on my skin after showering. This cured the rest of it. I do intermittent fasting too.

Makeup isn't even a necessity if you have a solid foundation. Your body if healthy will give you your skin tone, naturally. Topical stuff can work sometimes but your attitude and gut health determine how good your skin looks.

They controlled me. Sometimes I'd have clear skin which made me feel happy and confident. This happened because of what I called luck. I got sick and tired of depending on luck. I wanted to feel confident everyday. I noticed a change once I changed my diet. Don't waste your money on expensive facial cleansers! Find out what foods are causing breakouts and eliminate them. I stopped consuming sugar and it's making a difference. I still get a pimple every now and then which means there is something else I need to eliminate. I'm gonna try getting rid of dairy products. I'm a huge fan of Brian, and his videos were honestly the catalyst to talk to my doctor about my own acne. But I call slight shenanigans with this interview. Anybody that's followed him knows that he was on accutane for over a year (much longer than a normal course of accutane), which greatly improved his acne. Then he started a vegan diet, which he attributes to his clear complexion. But I think it's probably 80% accutane and 20% vegan diet that cleared his skin. The doctors also praise how smooth his skin looks.... But if you've watched his videos, you've seen him have laser skin treatments. A vegan diet didn't erase acne scars. Laser skin treatments did. So while I love his videos, this interview is fairly misleading. You won't look like that by just eating vegetables.

    I'll make it real simple for everyone out there. You are what you eat. Substances you intake affect your genetic expression. While you may have acne now, if you put in the work like he did, you will find the cause and will overcome it. Accutane is not the solution, not the only one, and it comes with its risks. I experienced psychosis when I took my first dose (50mg) alongside 10+ physical side effects that would render me unable to function or move for over 24 hours.
    BUT HEY here's what works for me : sulforaphane + oleuropein. Currently also testing panthothenic acid doses with boswellia serrata and meriva turmeric.
    I ate half an entire broccoli a day for a week and my skin has been clearer than it has been for the last ten years. Don't give up people. Love y'all.

    This is me. I went through everything he described. I have had acne or better yet cysts of this magnitude for 10 years or ever since I moved to America. This isn't just acne, this is very unhealthy type of cyst; it's your body telling you something is fucked up. I was made fun of and harshly criticized by peers and family for not taking care of myself. I visited dermatologists many times to cure my condition but none of them were able to help me. They kept dismissing the cause to bacterial infection. To speak the truth, they didn't give a damn about my problem. One day, my friend brought bratwurst (pork sausage) for dinner. It was the best bratwurst I had in my life. The very next day, I had multiple cysts breaking out. Then I realized, my diet was the cause. I cut pork and milk out of my diet. My face started getting better instantly. I only eat chicken and beef and I do my best to avoid beef and soon I will be cutting that shit out of my life. I recently confirmed and double triple confirmed that butter fucks me up too so that's over as well. I suspect that the dairy and meat industry in America is doing something to the meat or I'm just allergic to animal fat.

      @Abubakr #Apostate man i cannot stress enough how big of a role your diet plays in curing acne. When I was a sophomore in high school i decided to start eating healthy and start going to the gym. I didn't even know the food you eat has anything to do with how the skin on your fuckin forehead, I just wanted to be healthier. Bro before I knew it my acne starting going away, slowly, but it did. It was so bad I just took a side by side picture of my sophomore id picture next to my senior year one, and you can't even tell i'm the same person it's insane. My dermatologist straight up told me sugar can make acne worse. Scientific journals have published studies to back this up. Sugar itself mostly likely doesn't cause acne though. (just like water doesn't cure it) So if your derm told u your acne is not caused by your diet, they probably assessed your skin and told you this from a place of experience and recommended a treatment that WILL improve YOUR specific type of acne. BUT it never hurts to reduce processed sugar in your diet to see if it helps. Good luck to u, I'm on a skin journey too :)

    I wanted to ask her what she was eating but we werent close enough for that. A couple of years later her skin was totally clear and she later revealed to the staff that it was her bodys reaction to tofu and soy products she’d started eating once she became vegetarian.
    Once she realized the connection and stopped eating those products her skin once again returned to its clear and radiant state. 😃

    I ditched dairy 2 years ago and never looked back. I had skin problems and the following things helped me... Drink plenty of water. Eat fish (omega 3,6,9's), and avoid process foods. Removing dairy from your diet can make you calcium/magnesium deficient, it will make you weak, tired, moody and miserable (I learned the hard way). To avoid this, take calcium & magnesium supplements. I tried almond/soya milk but it gave me stomach problems. Calcium alone isn't enough, your body needs magnesium to absorb and regulate calcium levels. Google the benefits of magnesium, you will be surprised.

I also stopped drinking milk and the big painful cyst like acne on my chest and neck went away. I still get a hormonal cyst or two but nothing like it was. I also found that not overwashing my face and not using those intense peroxide acne creams helped even more. I was washing my face and chest so much I striped it of the natural bacteria that I need. It stopped because he went onto a medication cycle using Isotretinoin, the Accutane. His worst phase was cured by using accutane. Only wayyyy after that, he change his diet to vegan. I had a similar experience when i was young. My cystic acne was maybe half as bad as this and in some ways it was more awkward because the contrast between a really really bad pimple against normal skin made them more cartoonish/garish. It's one of the reasons i would wear a long fringe on my hair, because i never really got acne on my forehead, when my forehead was exposed it made the acne on my cheeks really stand out and show how bad it was. There were kids who joked about how aliens or spiders would hatch out of the really big ones, it was not a pleasant social environment for a kid.
    Fortunate would have it that i went through a period of time of not eating any crisps. There was no real reason for this, but my skin cleared up significantly at the time, it didn't resolve the issue by any means, but i'd say my skin improved by ~80%. When the family got crisps back in my skin flared back up and that's when we suspected the connection. When speaking to my GP it was suggested it was probably the oil content of the crisps as we (my family) experimented a little bit with different snack foods and got different results. baked corn snacks like wotsits or monster munch had no to very little affect on my skin so i knew that every now and then i could treat myself to something nice and tasty and not omit all crisp snacks from my diet. The worst crisps were Walkers Sensations, a single packet of those would fully flare up my acne cysts for nearly a week like the ones you see here.
    I have mad empathy for anyone who grew up with any level of acne.

    That's so interesting, cause I did almost the exact opposite! I increased my dairy intake, but only eat raw dairy. Lots of raw butter, kefir and some buttermilk and yoghurt. I decreased my plant intake, cause almost all plants caused me gut issues. I had to cut out every single plant seed (such as nuts, seeds, grains, beans, legumes and any flours and oils made from them) greens and tubers, or I would not only get acne, but also stomach aches for days. Even from such benign things as macadamia nuts and oats and sweet potatoes. I can only eat botanical fruits (cucumber, pepper, avocado, lemon, and sweet fruits, except banana for some reason) and fermented plants (sauerkraut) from the plant kingdom. As well as coconuts and chestnuts, despite them being nuts, as they never cause me issues beyond a little bloating. But I feel extremely good and skin is better than ever. I can also tolerate moderate amounts of berries. For the rest it's whole animal products, including organs.

Dairy, sugar and processed foods turn on the genes that make you ceceptable to diseases and inflammation but if you cut out those things and eat real whole foods it turns off inflammation in the body.

      Girly No My grandfather and mother had very bad acne. I had AWFUL acne when I was 11/12, but it really started clearing up at 13, and at 14 I barely had any breakouts, and since 15 my skin has been incredibly clear. I cut out dairy, became a pescatarian, stopped eating candies and chips, and used a simple skin care routine (scrub exfoliant, acne cleanser, an oily skin balancer, and an acne fighting moisturizer. I used to use a lot more products like serums and shit, but using too many products really made me break out, and having it being simple made a huge difference in my skin.) It can be genetic, but you can still find a solid skincare routine and eat healthier to improve your skin. I haven’t had any acne in a long time, besides the occasional pimple that lasts a day at most, while having the genetic predisposition to acne prone skin.

    I'm definitely feeling what this dude went through, I'm suffering from severe acne and seeing other people not having this makes my self esteem and confidence low as heck

    After I went vegan my skin cleared up SO much I used to have chronic acne and cutting out dairy, meat and eggs (which also have hormones and antibiotics and growth hormones in them) it definitely helped my skin. I also cut out oil and that helped a ton as well.

    I used to consume acutante...but then I stop because considering all of the side effect after consuming this med. then I realize I must change my diet... with drink a lot of water everyday..eat vegies..avoid dairy food..and it works!!

    I feel this pain men, ever since i got my first pimple and I thought its not a big deal but when 1 to 2 years later my pimple and acne is all over my face, i felt weak and discouraged and then i go to dermatologist after taking its prescription all my pimple and acne i got my clear skin back, but when i didn't think to much about it and ignore all the stuff and suddenly my pimple and acne is all over my face again, the soap i used doesn't work anymore, i try every product but still hopeless and now i know my skin better, because of this incurable face of mine I cant even face my friends, classmate and people all over me, also i dont have money for dermatology, i felt depressed
    But since i watch this, I felt enlightened and i just think that maybe you know i will start to stand up from my bed and do this, avoid oily foods since my face is always oily maybe thats the cause, yes i will discipline myself, if no one does then who will? myself, from now i will achieve my new goal.
