My friend just bought 80D and try to transfer raw to his android but the app didn't allow it and only works for ios,and only jpeg format can do to transfer to his android phone.

Is there a way to get focus peaking from an app to the camera?
You can shoot remotely using the Canon Camera Connect app and change focus points using the touch screen on your phone however unfortunately there is no focus peaking.
apparently the downloaded image file size is very small. Is there any way to acquire the original raw file from the camera?
Within the app settings you are able to change the file size to original sized jpg, the default is a smaller file size so that it saves space on your phone. Unfortunately you cannot select to download RAW images.
I'm following this step by step, but mine does not show a "smartphone" option. When I tap on "Wifi Function" it goes directly to a screen that says "Wifi On", Disconnect, exit, Confirm set. There is NO smartphone option on mine, what am I doing wrong?

canon 80d how to connect to computer wifi?
Download the app to your computer, open the app and find the icon of the computer. That will connect your computer
First I went to Canon website and registered my camera. Then I looked on UA-cam for "Canon Connect WiFi" on my desktop. I followed the instructions on a 5 minute video. It is not easy unless you copy someone doing it. I'm becoming so confused with everything I should be doing with this new camera that it's like forcing my brain to run a 100 mile marathon!

I tried these steps several times but it doesn't work. I set my Canon EOS 80D ready where it is waiting to connect, but my Android cannot find my camera.
You need to go to wifi settings first connect your Smartphone wifi to 80d wifi you can guess it as it has canon80d in its name, go back to the app and voila its right there .
I set it up without using this video, its intuitive and easy, the only reason I came for this video is I am looking a way to make the screen full but there's no such feature unfotunately.
@@exogendesign4582 I disagree; it's NOT intuitive OR easy. It should require these easy steps: 1) turn on phone or laptop 2) turn on camera 3) open canon connect on the camera 4) choose to copy files. End of story.

@@exogendesign4582 Yes, I know you do. Like Pilar, I had problems getting my camera to see my phone, despite following the instructions. Canon USED to have an intuitive, easy way to connect, called NFC. You turned on each device, held the one so it touched the other in a specific way and that's it! You had a connection. It's a real shame Android disabled NFC.
@@debrapeasley2606 Some Android still has NFC Depending on the Brand, Samsung still has it, I don't know about other products, By the way in Iphone it does connect automatically. And I have Iphone solely for this.
