I'm all about boost into fuzz.

I just built one of these but i made it with a Brian May style Treble boost NPN MPSA18 (with added output level control and the 3 way tone switch along with standard gain pot) and a regular fuzz face germanium PNP 2N404 (using MAX1044 charge pump to get -9v so i can use it with a regular center negative jack). Ive had the treble booster for at least a couple years it was one of my first builds and it will NEVER leave my board. I wanted to add a fuzz face to my pedal board but its already got to may pedals. I really like the 4 jack idea to make swapping the order easier. I was considering a switching circuit but i dont have any 4pdt switches and i like having individual 3pdt switches to control each pedal. Thanks for posting, ill probably add two more jacks tomorrow. Im using a 125b enclosure but i think ill be able to fit them. Im pretty certain that i would prefer it treble booster first how i built it. Thats why i didnt build and exact Sunlion copy. Treble boosters were made to boost period. The treble booster hitting my Klon clone that i also built into my Marshall DSL100HR is one of the best tones ive ever heard and likely will ever hear in my life. The Klon clone is almost identical to a regular klon, warm/transparent thick drive/boost. Its the perfect match to get boosted by a treble booster. Ill probably build that next, a treble booster and klon in the same pedal so you can boost the warm klon with the treble boost. That way people who arent fortunate enough to have a warmer amp like a Marshall Jcm800 etc. can still get the treble booster into a warm thick amp tone. Damn i know this sounds cocky but i guarantee its going to be a really fucking amazing pedal. I just need to get my Klon clone pcb/vero size down a bit so i dont have to use too big of an enclosure..

The four cable method makes a massive difference to my ears.

Yeah a switch would be cool for the order of effects but independant jacks lets you put the effects wherever you want it in your signal chain I believe which is cool. It's pricey but its a great pedal

Anyone know how I can add 2 more jacks to mine so I can reverse the order of the effects? Thanks !!!

I have an original sun lion White dot (both sides) and I like beano into fuzz better too...But the originals went fuzz into beano...SO at the time I bought another sunface NKT275 white dot.... And would'nt you know the prices went way way up so...I guess I'm glad I did :)

Nice! Yeah the NKT supply dried up real quick. Hey if you ever wanna sell that extra white dot sun face for a reasonable price let me know hahaha

Build one, i just finished mine today. Its amazing, ill send you the vero board layouts i used if you want. I built the treble boost a few years ago and its been an incredibly important part of my tone ever since. I posted a comment about it under this video a minute ago. Anyways let me know if you want me to send a link of the treble booster layout i used (with the modifications i made that really make this pedal incredible in my opinion) and the fuzz face with bipolar power/charge pump for center negative as well as the off board wiring diagram for dual enclosures.

@@whatthediddlyyoutuberino1359 You got it.... let me round them up. I recommend an MPSA18 for the treble booster and for the Fuzz i actually have gotten the best results using a Germanium Q1 and a silicon Q2. Since its hard to come by an exactly match ill just say for guidlines sake you should be safe using a Q1 germanium with an hFE of 50-90 and a Q2 silicon with an hFE of 70-120 (but really any PNP germanium or silicon transistor within 50-160hfe will be just fine but possible less than ideal). With the bias pot that is included in the layout you should be able to get a great sound if you stick to those guidelines and dont forget to add a level control in between the output jack and the circuit out. Heres the links for the builds i followed and the wiring diagram i used. I did a few small things different here and there but im absolutely certain if you follow these to the T youll be fine. Oh and the Treble boost utilizes an NPN (MPSA18 is my recommended upgrade) transistor and the Fuzz Face uses PNP transistors but youll have zero problems using them together since the circuits are only sharing a power jack and input/output jacks. Also the fuzz face charge pump is listed as a MAX1044 but the TC1044S is better and easier to get ahold of. Both will work but the MAX1044 has drawbacks the TC1044 doesn't. Lastly i used a 125B+ enclosure cause i had it lying around but if you used a 1590BB you could add 2 more jacks which would allow you to route the effects in either order. Plus with 5 pots, two 5mm LEDs with bezels, and two 3pdt foot switches and two 1/4 inch jacks not to mention the two boards it gets a little tight and you would save yourself a headache by using a larger enclosure. I like it in the 125B+ but it was a tight fit. If you build it let me know how it turned out or if you have any questions!
