🦇 I'm so glad you do spoilers sometimes because these books always get me intrigued with their teasers, lol. But then I find out the spoilers and I'm like WOW I'm so glad I did not waste my time with that lol.
Thank you for including me in the your video! And thanks for giving me more thrillers to add to my list. I'm very thankful I found Lisa Jewell this year. Her books always keep me engaged.
🦇 I am so here for Sara-ween in November. I’m so behind, I’ve barely decorated and I never got to do a Halloween nail set. 😭 I need a spooky season extension. 🤣
I agreed with you on all these books. I was so glad when you said you spotted the twist in Daisy Darker. I thought it was so obvious. I wish Alice Feeney would’ve done more to cover it up. I like her writing but knowing the twist made the reading experience not great. I hope at some time you pick up Who is Maud Dixon. I’m bummed the author hasn’t written more books. There’s something about her writing that I was so pulled in. It’s not a popcorn thriller have to keep turning the pages, but it all feels intentional, like she should be so proud of the story. Lisa Jewell is amazing..Then She Was Gone is my favorite by her. It’s always good to be in her worlds, but that one, got to me so much.
🦇 I’m so glad I am back in the thriller game because I stopped reading thrillers maybe a year ago as it was very predictable, the same plot recycled over and over again. Until I read The Silent Patient on my 24hr readathon and I was blown by it, I love when books have a good pace, not slow burn, wtf ending, but wtf chapter ends, the kind to make you turn the page SO FAST! The Silent Patient did just that. And then this month has been amazing because I read Home Before Dark by Riley Sager, it was the first book that had me spooked that I picked up the reading again in the day time, finished it in one sitting, I remember Caitlyn mentioned that it’s great for those who like Haunting of Hill House on Netflix and that is exactly what that was like, so good that I refuse to believe the actual ending of the book. Next was None of this is true, the pacing was good on this too and another book I finished it one sitting. I was initially a bit worried because of the character with ASD and I generally stay away from books like this because they almost always don’t do a good job with people with ASD, but this did.
🦇🦇 I haaaated sharp objects. One of the most annoying main characters ever. I recommend Dark Places over Sharp Objects, but neither of them come close to the slay that is Gone Girl.
I've read Gone Girl and seen the adaptation for both Dark Places and Sharp Objects so I probably will just read whatever book she writes when she comes out of retirement
Daisy Darker spoiler: I literally called the dead all along twist almost immediately BUT there was a weird line of dialogue somewhere in those early chapters that seemed to address her directly, so I figured I was wrong lmao. But I did still call the rest!
I haven’t read Daisy Darker but LOVED None of This Is True and did not like Local Woman Missing. I knew exactly who was responsible but I didn’t know how… didn’t like it though. 😅
Lisa Jewell is going to come out with a bonus chapter in a special edition of None of This is True that is coming out I believe in December. 😊 I’d definitely recommend all her thriller backlist she is my favorite thriller author.
Anybody surprised by the twist in Daisy Darker has never read a thriller before (or got an ARC and doesn't want to leave a bad review). Sorry, had to be said! 😆I read Feeney's Good Bad Girl and it was abominable. Three unreliable narrators who all know what is going on and the only person they keep in the dark is the reader. Almost half of it was just eye-rolling Hallmark-style observations about life. I'll never read another book by her again. I really enjoyed None Of This Is True and Local Woman Missing.
Oh my god three of the books mentioned at the start of the video are ones I absolutely HATED, including Local Woman Missing 💀💀 So validated by your feelings on it. The characters are so dumb, the twist is implausible, and at least 75% of the book is about pregnancy/babies 🦇
Yay! I’m so glad you enjoyed None of This Is True, Lisa Jewell is one of my favorite thriller writers. Also, thank you so much for including me in this video! So fun and loved watching you read these ones. 🥰🖤
I ALSO HATE THE SMELL OF OUTSIDE. I like being outside, i don't think when I'm outside it smells bad. But there is a very distinct "outside" smell that penetrates clothes and dogs etc and I hate it.
Has Riley tried to convince you to read Bunny?? Because, if you like women obsessing over women.... I'm reading it right now and its such a mindfuck. Would love to see you react!!
I have low standards with thrillers but Local Woman Missing had a lot of similarities to a real life missing persons case in a city I used to live in so I saw the twist coming and it kind of ruined my enjoyment of the book
There is no new idea under the sun. I read books for the ride with the characters, and how they react, even if I can predict everything bc of that reason. I get not liking how something is written! Totally valid. I just don't know if you are ever going to come across something where you can't predict what is going to happen. You also have the insight of being outside this person (character) so that gives you an advantage

My AuDHD makes surprising me with a twist in books very rare lol. Pattern recognition can be a bit of a curse at times
Omg, I'm maybe not at that level yet, and I read thrillers very rarely, but pattern recognition truly feels like a superpower sometimes. 😅
Mental and physical health should always come first! I am more than happy to continue the spooky season past October 🦇🦇
“I guess she didn’t miss me that much” I’m crying for multiple reasons
I also predicted the one thing in Daisy darker but I didn't predict the other. I loved it! 🦇
Thank you for including me in the your video! And thanks for giving me more thrillers to add to my list. I'm very thankful I found Lisa Jewell this year. Her books always keep me engaged.
yes i want to read more by her!!
Everyone! Sara dropped another video! 🎉
Yay so glad you liked the Lisa Jewell! I didn't see the Daisy Darker twist coming so I loved it lol
🦇 I am so here for Sara-ween in November. I’m so behind, I’ve barely decorated and I never got to do a Halloween nail set. 😭 I need a spooky season extension. 🤣
I'm very happy about the spooky season being prolonged and with you choosing your mental health. 💜
Oh my gosh the way I was *this close* to recommending you Local Woman Missing when we did our video collab 😂 now I’m so glad I didn’t hahaha
We went to that restaurant in Fredericksburg! The croissant bread pudding was delectable 🤤

Thank you for adding to my long tbr list ❤❤❤
I hated local woman missing too. I just didnt care. You should try The she was gone by Lisa Jewell!
Definitely want to try more of her books!
Daisy Darker spoiler: I literally called the dead all along twist almost immediately BUT there was a weird line of dialogue somewhere in those early chapters that seemed to address her directly, so I figured I was wrong lmao. But I did still call the rest!
Omg I want more Sara and Riley content!! 🦇🦇
There's one more coming 😌
I haven’t read Daisy Darker but LOVED None of This Is True and did not like Local Woman Missing. I knew exactly who was responsible but I didn’t know how… didn’t like it though. 😅

my mom’s favorite author is lisa jewell so you’re right with the middle aged women demographic
honestly might join the club and read more of her books 😂

you get it
You might like Good as Gone by Amy Gentry, read this a long time back, it was a good read.
Oh you've got to read Look Closer! 🦇
I love Lisa Jewell 🥹
I remember DNFing Who Is Maud Dixon (with prejudice) and cannot for the life of me remember why.
Has Riley tried to convince you to read Bunny?? Because, if you like women obsessing over women.... I'm reading it right now and its such a mindfuck. Would love to see you react!!
don't watch my worst books of 2020 video.............
@@sarawithoutanH HAHA nooo (I will 100% watch it)
I waiting to see if you would tell us the color of the dress you wore to the wedding. Bless that it wasn’t white 😂
it was the one in the photo!! greeeeen
I DNF’d Local Woman Missing I honestly got bored with all the POV hopping and the mixed timeline
Yeah it kind of ruined the story and I didn't particularly like any of the characters
I have low standards with thrillers but Local Woman Missing had a lot of similarities to a real life missing persons case in a city I used to live in so I saw the twist coming and it kind of ruined my enjoyment of the book
Local woman missing is very poorly plotted lol and daisy darker stupid twist aside, I truly just thought was boring
the way she wouldn't stop yapping about their family history! i was like enough with the diabolic sister dynamics where's the murder
@@sarawithoutanH also iirc the poem tells you which person dies in which order? That’s not the fun of and then there were none lol
🦇🦇🦇🦇🦇
Love you 🦇 I way prefer spoilery content
if i had a dime for every time ive said "ugh she smells like outside" about my dogs id be rich
adding none of this is true to my tbr ✍🏽🦇 also are those sylvanian family earrings in the last clip?!
yes they are! i got them from lolita collective
