Thank You so much for this video 🙂 - You demonstrated a few things that none of the other reviewers I've watched have touched on (and I've watched TONS, as I'm really enthusiastic about this little thing): The magnets that keep it open and closed; and some actual footage of the Manual Mode. At the moment I'm torn between spending this much money on the X1, or about the same amount on an actual drone like maybe the Potensic Atom. The thing that interests me most with the X1 is the Follow Mode, as I'd like to make clips of myself on my eBike. It seems to be very good at this task. But at the same time, I'm attracted to the much greater height and distance of an actual drone to do everything else...
Thanks for watching! That is exactly how you should feel about the x1. It cannot be compared to any other drone like the Atom. The only way out is to either compromise or get both :)

Good and thorough demonstration and review of this quad. Indeed kinda wonderous to see that a quad without obstacle avoidance somehow does react to obstacles (it did that twice during your bike-ride) in or near its path. Also cool to see that even without the need of drawing a square around yourself, it stuck to you no matter what; seen plenty of GPS quads losing lock after one or two turns. Was also surprised how consitent the exposure is, even while circling you. Nice piece of kit :-)
Like I was saying, I am blown away from this little drone that outperforms most if not all gps quads I have tested. You can't fly it far but for a selfie follow me drone, it is the best so far! 👍👍
I think I want one. Very quick to launch. And that is so important! In theory you can get most shots with a GPS drone. But you're not going to spend an hour on a 10 second shot if you do a bike tour. Get the drone out, controller, connect the phone, wait for satellites, it all takes too long, you simply won't bother and ride one. And it's so small, can still carry your GPS long range drone as well. Best review on YT BTW. You know your stuff.
Yep! This is the only follow me drone that I have actually used after making the review. I take this thing everywhere I go with the family. More faster than taking videos with the phone! And I’m in the video for a change!
It is an awesome little drone and yes, I could really use something like this for the reviews :) The Lectric XP is awesome! This was my 3rd ride and I love it. My PAS sensor is malfunctioning so they are sending a new one. Other than that, it is a must have for all.
Good review , I thought a few years back they had a drone similar to this and it had obstacle avoidance or was suppose to I think. plus follow me mode etc . Looks good but I do not like cell phone App type drones, just not my forte...LOL

i did read on their FAQ this hover 2’s proprietary optical radar is a swiveling stereo sensor that gives the drone depth perception in every direction. we combined this with slam 3d mapping, vio (visual inertial odometry), and path planning features, so the drone can bypass obstacles while tracking a target in real time. but i check back recently and the took it down or i cant find it agan

Great video to get users of the drone familiar with all settings easy to follow and clear. I am at the moment thinking of buying one already got DJI Mavic mini but its a pain to set up every time you want to use it so never really bother taking it out. Just one question in the dolly mode would it sit in front of you on the bike as I am a cyclist and not so bothered about the following rather have it in front of me. Cheers Mick

In the dolly track, it will stay in front of you and move or roll side to side to keep itself in front of you but once you move to one side too much ( about 90 degrees ) it will start to follow you instead and if you pivot 180 degrees while it is following you, it will then switch to dolly track again. Battery life is 10 to 15 minutes, made in China real cheap. If you are obsessed with filming yourself for some reason, it's £395 with two batteries and charging station with free shipping to the UK and Europe. Probably cost about 30 dollars to make.
Yes maybe true. You are however paying for the software that had a lot of research just like if you hire a plumber and pay $500 to fix something that costed $1 for the plumber to replace but you are paying for his knowledge of some 20 years of experience.

Unfortunately, no. This is a selfie drone. So it will follow your silhouette and once you enter your car, it will loose you. If you want a car following drone, the dji air 3 can do the job very well.
I bought from their site a drone on 29th of September and shipment in EU, paid with credit card, so far now my order is still unfulfilled and after sent a lot of e-mail with all info no replay from their customer support... Take care of your money
I just bought myself one. Can I ask what would happen if the drone gone beyond the allowed distance/height? I watched other UA-cam videos, a few users said that if the drone is at maximum distance, it gets disconnected from the phone and we can't control it to come back to where we are. May need to go recover it, and it doesn't take command from the phone to land etc... If that's true, it's very scary.
What happens if you have family / friends around you and you activate hover, follow, dolly etc? Does it still know to follow only you and not everyone else else?
If you use it to make a monetized video or small paid project, would that not still make it a commercial drone under FAA law? Newbie to the drone world so I am trying to work out what the rules are.

I didn’t show in the review of the audio recording. It records filtered audio via your phone and syncs it with the video that is captured. Amazing.

You totally miss the point. The money is in the programming. Obviously you never go on a bike tour or something. I do. Usually I don't bother to fly my drone. I don't have time for that. With a DJI Mini it takes half an hour to do the same as what this thing does in 10 seconds. And you probably find a plumber very expensive too. Because after two hours work he only put in a 10 cent rubber. Maybe he will accept your 10 cents? 'Here buddy. 10 cents' 'Oh wow thanks!'
@@OP-ik7qb my own fault. They tell you not to do it in instructions but i was seeing hour far i could push it. I was walking along the beach shoreline and that was fine but when the water moved in closer it made the hover x lose orientation
To expensive for a drone without gps or even a controller ! Yeah people defending this drone says is for follow me bla bla !but other drones that actualy does long range with gps have alot off follow me features and a better obstacle avoidance !And for less than the asking price off this one that is insanely expensive ( 450-550€ ) Not worth !!! Maybe if it was 200 € would be ok !

Don't know about any hand gestures but it will record audio when locked as well.

Yes. It’s actually considered to be pretty good flight time. Most of my drones get around 3 minutes.
Just for info : One of the things it tells you NOT to do is fly it over water and off buildings.

you still have to press the shoot button for it to take a photo.

I'm afraid not. Even with the use of the app, it has to finish the current flight mode.

Unfortunately, no. This is a selfie drone. So it will follow your silhouette and once you enter your car, it will loose you. If you want a car following drone, the dji air 3 can do the job very well.

Yes it works but if you walk around a person and the person comes between you and the drone, it will start following that person instead.

Yes, you will need to be part 107 certified.

It takes two video clips. One going away from you and another coming back to you so there is a gap in between.

Yes I agree but what drone can you start follow me in less than a minute and get great video or get great videos in any other preset modes modes? By the time you set up a DJI, I’m done and the X1 is already in my pocket and I’m out of there.
