Sometimes it's hard to find it, but the most important thing is that you can import it with Fly app in the waypoints feature. Check it there, and remember that it will overwrite your most recent mission so it will have the same name as that last mission saved.

Good question. I have an acquaintance who uses a Mini 4 for mapping and he uploads the data to DJI Terra. I don't want to steer you in a direction where you make a purchase you later regret, but in my opinion it could suffice. I suggest you also ask that question, perhaps, in the OFFICIAL DJI OWNERS group on Facebook, or somewhere like that. You will get a number of valuable opinions that way.

@@michaelwadden9373 well, that would be the Mavic Enterprise with RTK. Even with RTK, you should also use Control Points. The reason I made this video is because the Air 3 does not have an SDK, therefore it does not support apps like Litchi. There are many others. These apps provide more robust mapping solutions. It's really up to you. What level of mapping will you be doing eg: for fun, for your own business or for employer? That should determine your investment. If you are going to do it professional get a drone with RTK capabilities.

I used waypointmap.com to generate the KML and their sister site www.aerialmodel.com to generate the oath with my jpgs. I'm pretty sure you could WebODM or other such apps for the completed project because they should all use jpgs to generate oaths or 3D models. For 3D models, best to do flights with the KML: one shooting nadir and one shooting oblique.

I use this waypoint technique when I want to shoot orthographic images because it allows the to automate the flight and achieve that "lawnmower" pattern, which would be a pain to do manually. You can do it manually, but this makes it easier.
For cinematic shots, it might be a valuable process to set out a more custom flight path to achieve a very special camera move and it is repeatable, so you could, in theory, use it for a film shoot when you have to do rehearsals and several takes of the exact same shot.
      Hope that helps!

Thank you, I'm glad you like the video. Unfortunately, yes it is true you must use Windows OS to run this simple app. However, there is a way around it. You can download the waypoint KMZ and then load it onto an SD card and then insert the SD card into your RC and open it with the DJI Fly app. The only caveat to that process is you need an RCN and an Android device for this process, which I do not have. So, with an RC2 you need Windows. I tried using Wine on Mac OS to run the loader app, but it didn't work.

Keep in mind, the KMZ installer overwrites the last saved waypoint file, so as long as you have at least one saved, it will save over it. You need to have at least one saved before you use the KMZ installer. What I do is, create a new waypoint with the Fly app on the controller; just a simple one. Then use the KMZ installer. Then open it with Fly app as you would open any waypoint file. It will be the most recent one.
Let me know if that helps.

@@allstreamedupvi Thank you. The problem was that the RC2 did not update the thumbnails showing the picture of the new mission, i don't know why. I have spend a lot of time on the free version, and here is some of my feedback.
It may be addressed in the paid version, but I will think that the free version is just a restriction to the paid version. I found the program to be slow to update, unfriendly and jittery. I mainly want to make use of the marker option, so this relates to that.
Even If i set the heading, gimble angle speed at to the first waypoint before I create the second etc, it does not carry those values forward. ItI stick to the program defaults. Being able to drag the waypoint heading (like on the RC2) will be a lot easier. Having an option to start a new mission, after saving the previous, will help a lot (Maybe I'm missing something) but I had to restart the program, and while I was busy setting up my first waypoint, it all of a sudden default back to the start screen with the original google map.
The idea to have a very nice big screen option to create waypoints, is wonderful, I just hope it was more user friendly and stable
